Sara Khan and Ashmit Patel are fast becoming the 'couple' to watch out for in Bigg Boss house. So is all that attention keeping her fianc, Ali Merchant on tenterhooks? We tried to find some answers.
Do you think Sara is doing well on the show?
Bigg Boss is not meant for her it is for people who have retired and have no work to do. Everyone knows Sara has been doing well. She had a show like Bidaai and she was getting many offers too. And, she is the youngest one on the show too.
Why didn't you stop her from doing it then?
We do discuss our work and we understand each and other's individuality. We do not tell each other what we should be doing. But, frankly we never followed Bigg Boss that religiously we knew it was a big show and she was happy to get it because usually people above 35 get these shows. It's not that she wasn't getting offers but she took this up.
There are talks doing the rounds about Ashmit and Sara being more than friends? What is your take on it?
There is nothing of that sort she calls him 'Pops'. The other day I was watching the show and the housemates were commenting that Ashmit has a soft corner for Aanchal (Kumar). They are just playing around. Sara is very friendly with everyone around her. Even, while doing Bidaai, she would hang out with Angad (Hasija) and Kinshuk (Mahajan) but it's just because she is friendly.
In one of her interviews, Sakshi Pradhan has mentioned that Sara told her she has fallen out of love with you?
I don't think it's a fact. I don't believe a word of Sakshi. Everyone knows about her and also about Sara and me. We have a positive reputation and there is no such thing as falling out of love. There is definitely a misunderstanding. In fact when there are nine rotten apples in a basket the 10th one too seems that way. It's just that Sara is not politically correct.
In one of the episodes, Sara mentioned to Veena Malik that you hardly have time for her and so she was having second thoughts about you?
I do confess that I have had my faults. I have been busy due to shooting, business and other work but the fact is we are engaged and together. I am more of a people's person and that is why I like being around people, hosting parties and being a good host. I do think this is my mistake; I could have spent that time with her.
So, will you give her a lot more time once she is back?
Totally, lots of time!
Do you want her to win the show or do you want her to come back sooner?
For Sara, this show is not a big deal for she is financially secure. She has a lot of work out here too. If she happens to see the way her image is being shown by the channel she would walk out of it. She enjoys a good reputation and once she knows how negatively she is being projected, she will really be hurt. But I will support her, it is just a bad phase, there are ups and downs but things will go well.
