Dear all,
back after Dushera vacations .Caught up on Friday and Monday episodes and on few pages of the forum , dropping these lines before hurrying off to catch today's episode.
I wanted to write this sometimes before also..... In this forum , do we take Drashti for granted ?
I know we DO praise her , DO appreciate her....but relatively speaking...I would say once in a while..probably not as much as she deserves...
We are so obsessed with Maan ....and I am no exception to this druging rule...that all we want is Maan all over the screen....and forget the hard work that Drashti puts in... If Gurmeet is sick....we are soooo sympathetic (rightly) abouit the hard work he puts in...but we dont acknowledge enough that Drashti works equally hard, infact sometimes harder than Gurmeet.... in all the times that Gurmeet has fallen sick time and again Drashti has held firm and kept the show going...this last time she was sick too...and we made some feeble noise about her too ...but that's all... all of us , me very very much included , wait for Maan, concerned for Maan...taking Drashti almost for granted...
I feel sad...I know we are all girls and we are more drawn to Maan's character for obvious reasons ....but that should not keep us from giving Drashti her full anf full due, which she rightly deserves.... Sometimes I also wonder if it reflects some kind of gender bias in us where - unknown even to ourselves- we recognise a man's work much more than a woman's work
And my heart goes out to Drashti ...the strong woman , the brave professional, the darling Geet and the unforgettble innocent girl who quietly keeps doing her work...
I look forward to Maan , but somehow not so much ...I would like to remember Drashti for her contribution to the show in its tough times....
Here's to Drashti - the silent worker !!! And hope I never forget to appreciate her in the midst of all my Maan mania !
Cheers !
