Geet listens to everything and looks at Maan while he says, 'Yeh aakhri baat bohot zaroori hai, Geet. Dev aur Naintara ki aankhon mein, main kuch nahi janta. Iss poore kisse ko tumhe aage barhana hai. Main tumhare aas paas hi rahounga lekin kabhi bhi mere saamne unse apne ateet ko koi baat mat karna. Naintara bohot hi shatir kism ki hai. Woh samajh gayi toh baazi palat sakti hai. Tum darr toh nahi rahi ho na, Geet? Agar zaroorat parhi toh main beech main parhounga, tum fikr mat karo.' She smiles and says, 'Maine kab kaha ke main darr rahi houn, Maan. Sahi cheez karne main darr kaisa? Aap ghabraiye mat, Dev ya Naintara mera kuch nahi bigaad sakte. Ab hum chale Sameera ke waha?' They leave hand in hand for Sameera's house.

Dev and Naintara reach the house the next morning and are confused seeing the entire house decorated. Dadima comes down and hugs Dev. Dev asks, 'Kya hua hai, Dadima? Bro en bas aane ko keh diya aur bataya bhi nahi ke baat kya hai?' Dadima shakes her head and says, eh Maan bhi na? Shayad woh jante the ke hum aapko yeh baat batana chahenge. Parso ke din humne Maan ki shaadi karva di.' Dev and Naintara are shocked. Dev is upset and says, 'Dadima, hamare bina bro ki shaadi? Aisi kya jaldi thi?' Dadima is apologetic and says, 'Hum jante hai ke aap naraaz hoge lekin Maan ki shaadi parso hi hona zaroori thi. Hum aapko sab baad mein batayenge lekin ab ke liye dulhan ka grihpravesh aaj hai. Aap dono please tayyar ho jaiye aur hamari madad keejiye. Aur Dev aap Maan se khoob ladayi karna iss ke liye lekin aaj ka din unhe maaf kar deejiye.' Dev smiles and says, f course, Dadima.'

Naintara reaches the room and throws her purse on the bed. She angrily says, b yeh aukaad reh gayi hai hamari, Dev? Veerji ki shaadi ho gayi aur humhe uska hissa bhi nahi banaya gaya? Dadima humhe servant quarters mein kyun nahi rakh deti? Mujhe toh hamari haisiyat wahi lagti hai.' Dev is irritated and says, 'Shut up Naintara. Tumne suna na Dadima ne kya kaha? Koi option nahi tha.' Dev nods her head and says, 'Haan haan. Dadima toh hamesha sach kehti hai na? Jhoote toh hum hain. Aankhen khol kar dekhiye Dev. Sab kuch choot raha hai hamare haath se.' Dev replies, 'Agar tumhari bakwaas khatam ho gayi ho toh toh hum tayyar ho jaaye.' Naintara storms off to get dressed while Dev wonders, 'Bro ne aisa kiya kyun? Itni jaldi shaadi?'

Sameera is sitting with a worried Geet. She consoles her saying, 'Geet, agar tum itni dari hui ho tumhe Maan ko bata dena chahiye. Woh tumhe kabhi bhi majboor nahi karega.' Geet helplessly says, 'Iss liye toh main mana nahi kar sakti, Sameera. Woh yeh sab mere liye kar rahe hai aur main hi unka saath na doun toh kitni galat baat hai. Aur mujhe darr nahi hai, ghabrahat hai ke meri wajah se do bhaiyon mein tanaav hone wala hai. Main na hoti toh yeh sab nahi hota na?' Sameera sits in front of her says, 'Tum agar nahi hoti toh Maan dobara jeena bhi nahi seekhta, Geet. Maine unki khushi dekhi hai. Woh tumhare saath bohot khush hai aur jab tak tumhare liye yeh larhai nahi larhega woh chain nahi lega.' Geet nods and says, 'Main janti houn. Bas Babaji mujhe himmat de ke main sahi sab kar sakoun. Maan mujhse niraash na ho.' Sameera smiles and says, 'Aisa toh ho hi nahi sakta, Geet.'

Maan comes to take Geet and is extremely happy to see her. She is wearing a silver lehenga with pearl work and a diamond set which sits perfectly on her delicate neck. He is mesmerized at her sight. Geet walks towards him quickly and takes his hand. He says in her ear, 'Maine tumhe bohot yaad kiya, Geet.' Geet whispers, 'Jab aapko bhooli hi nahi toh yaad kaise karti.' They smile at each other and Sameera feels really happy seeing them together. She says, 'Aapki baatein khatam ho gayi ho toh chale. Aap dono aage jaiye. Main aur Ali peeche ki gaadi main follow karte hain.'

Maan and Geet are in the car. Maan has held on to Geet's hand and her head is on his shoulder. Maan asks, 'Tum theek ho Geet? Raat ko so payi?' She kisses his cheek and says, 'Aap nahi the toh neend kaha se aati.' He smiles feeling happy at these words, 'Main bhi nahi so paya. Aisa lag raha tha ke tum har jagah thi.' Geet laughs and replies, 'Main har jagah houn Maan. Hamesha aapke aas paas hi miloungi.' They get out of the car and take a deep breath. Maan makes her take the ghunghat and puts his hand out. She takes it and they walk in towards the house together with Sameera and her husband behind them.

Dadima, Naintara and Dev along with the girls are standing at the entrance of the door. Rajji is not to be seen since Maan has asked her to come during the later part of the day. Maan and Geet stand at the entrance of the door. Naintara comes forward along to do the aarti. She gives the thali to Aditi and tells them to come forward. Geet drops the kalash with her right foot and steps in to the kum kum to take her first steps in to the house. Dadima tells Maan to lift her veil now. Maan comes in front of her and lifts it while Dev and Geet stand there shocked and lost for words. They keep staring at Geet not able to believe their eyes. Dadima turns around to Dev and Naintara and sees them worried. She asks, 'Kya baat hai, beta? Apni bhabhi se nahi miloge?' Geet holds Maan's hand and challenges them with her eyes to come forward. They break out from the shock and come forward.

Everyone clears from the entrance but Dev stops Maan asks, 'Bro, kya Geet hi aapki secretary thi?' Maan smiles slightly and says, 'Haan Dev. Geet hi thi woh ladki jiske baare mein tum pouchte rehte the. Uske saath bohot bura hua tha.' He launches off to tell him about what Dev did with her without letting him know that he knows that the culprit is Dev. He ends of by saying, 'Geet mujhe bata nahi rahi hai ke yeh kisne kiya uske saath lekin jis din mujhe pata chala Dev us din uss insan aur uski biwi ko main nahi chodounga.' Maan walks away leaving behind a shocked and fearful Dev who thinks, 'Bro, aap jiski baat kar rahe woh toh main aur Naintara hai. Ab kya hoga? Lekin Geet ne abhi tak Maan ko bataya kyun nahi? Woh kar kya rahi hai?' He takes out his glasses and sits on the sofa dejected and worried.

Part 36

Naintara brings Geet to the room and let's go of her hand as if she has received a shock. Geet innocently requires, 'Kya hua Naintara didi?' Naintara raises her finger and says, 'Khabardaar mujhe didi bulaya ho toh, Geet. Aur tum humhe didi kyun bulaogi? Hum Maan ki bhabhi hai.' Geet shrugs her shoulders and says, 'Apni souten ko aksar didi hi bulate hai, hai na?' Naintara angrily replies, 'Hamari souten? Aap Maan ki patni hai, Dev ki bhabhi' Geet raises her eyebrows and says, 'Aap Dev ki bhabhi aur patni ban sakti hai, toh main kyun nahi Didi.' Naintara sternly tells Geet to stop it and is about to slap her when Geet holds her hand. She looks at her and says, 'Aaj haath pakda hai, Naintara Khurana. Dobara aisa karne ki koshish ki toh modh doungi, samjhi tum? Yeh baat yaad rakhna ke hum vadde Veerji ki patni hai. Woh lachaar ladki nahi jisse tum Hoshiarpur mein mili thi.'

Geet leaves her hand and Naintara's eyes widen with fear. She asks, 'Tum yaha aayi kyun ho, Geet?' Geet shrugs her shoulder and simply says, 'Jo tumne mujhse cheen liya woh wapas lene aur woh bhi soot samet.' Naintara is very upset and asks, 'Maine cheen liya?' Geet turns away from her and says, 'Haan of course, Naintara. Mera pati, mere hone bacche wale ka baap aur tumhari property bhi. Tumne meri zindagi tabah karne ka plan kiya tha. Aaj main tumhe sadak par lekar aane ka plan banaya hai maine. Dev ne paison ke liye mujhse jhooti shaadi ki aur maine unke bhai ko phaas liya. Hisab barabar karna tha na?'

Naintara comes in front of her and says, 'Hum tumhe aisa kuch nahi karne denge. Hum abhi jakar Veerji ko'' Geet starts laughing and says, 'Veerji ko sab bata dengi. Jaiye na, abhi jaiye. Lekin shuru kaha se karengi. Hoshiarpur ke kiye hue natak se jis mein unke bhai ne ek masoom ladki se dhoke se shaadi ki. Ya rukiye, haan waha se jaha par meri zameen aur gehne lekar bhaag gaye the aap, Dev, Kamya aur aapki saas. Bata deejiye na, please. Mera kaam aasan ho jayega. Waise bhi Maan mujhe roz pouchte hai ke mein un logon ka naam bataoun jinhonein mera saath aisa kiya. Aaj aap hi bata deejiye. Lekin mere khilaaf woh ek shabd nahi sun sakte. Aap try kar leejiye.'

Geet holds her hand and Naintara pulls it away. She is about to say something when Maan enters and she stops. She changes her expression to a smile while Geet says, 'Bataiye na, aap Maan ko kya batana chahti thi.' Maan looks at Naintara and questions her, 'Kya baat hai, Naintara? Tum mujhe kuch batana chahti thi.' Naintara looks on nervously from Maan to Geet and quickly says, 'Veerji, hum toh yahi batana chahte the ke humhe Geet bohot acchi lagi. Bohot hi pyaari ladki chuni hai aapne.' Geet and Maan suppresses a smile and says, 'Kaha didi. Aap se achi bahu aur patni toh poore duniya mein nahi milengi. Aap kuch bhi kar sakti hai na unke liye. Maan ne bohot bataya hai aapke baare mein. Aap ke saath rehne ke liye mein bohot utsukh thi.' Naintara gives both of them a dirty smile and leaves the room.

Maan sees her leaving and immediately turns to Geet. He holds her face in his hands and asks, 'Tum theek ho na, Geet? Naintara ne tumse kuch kaha toh nahi.' Geet holds on to his hands reassuringly and says, 'Kahani aur dialogues aap likh rahe hai, Maan toh Naintara kya kahegi. Aur pata hai kya? Mujhe Naintara darri hui lagi, Maan. Usse aise dekhkar meri himmat aur barh gayi.' Maan gives her a quick peck on the lips and says, 'Yahi toh main chahta houn Geet ke woh dono darre. Ab toh shuruat hai. Aage aage dekhte hai ke in dono ke range kaise udhte.' She hugs him smiling and says, 'Ab jaakar main aapke bhai se mil loun isse pehle ke Naintara un tak pohoche.' Maan stops her and says, 'Ek minute Geet. Main tumhe kuch batana chahta houn.'

Maan walks behind her with his hands covering her eyes. He takes her into an inner room and switches on the light. He tells her to open her eyes and sees a room full of their wedding pictures. The biggest one is right in front of the bed and it is one of her while she is getting ready. She has held on to her earring and is shying away from the camera. She is amazed and looks at all of them with her and him together. She turns to him and says, 'Par Maan, ek din pehle toh shaadi hui toh aapne yeh sab kiya kaise.' Maan feels very happy that she likes it and proudly says, 'Apni jaan ke liye itna nahi kar sakta. Kal tum poora din nahi thi na, toh yahi kar raha tha.' Geet cries and sits down, 'Maan itna pyaar main lautaungi kaise? Aap itna sab kuch kar rahe hai mere liye.' Maan sits next to her and takes her in to her lap, 'Tumne mera gussa dekh liya Geet lekin mera pyaar nahi. Tumhare ilawa kuch dikhayi hi nahi deta toh kya karoun.' They both sit and admire the pictures.

Geet is walking down and sees Dev coming up towards her. He is trying to read her expression which cannot be deciphered. She seems calm and composed and he looks at his wit's end. He rushes towards her and they both stop. Dev talks to her in hushed tones and asks, 'Yeh sab kya hai, Geet? Tum yaha kya kar rahi ho?' Geet innocently says, 'Maine kaha tha na tumse Dev ke main aage barh gayi houn. Maine Maan ka haath thaam liya hai.' Dev is annoyed and asks, 'Par woh mera bhai hai, Geet.' Geet plainly says, 'Main pyaar karti houn unse, Dev aur mujhe pata nahi tha ke woh tumhare bhai hai. Jab pata chala bhi toh bohot der ho chuki thi. Aur waise bhi main tumhe bhula chuki houn aur Maan ke mere zindagi mein aane ke baad mujhe tumse koi sarokar nahi. Yeh mehez ittifaq hai ke tum unke bhai ho aur mere devar, uske aage kuch nahi.'

Dev eyes her suspiciously and says, 'Tum bro ko bataogi nahi ke maine and Naintara ne kya kiya?' Geet smiles and says, 'Mere liye zaroori Maan aur unki khushi hai, Dev. Yeh batakar main unka dil nahi dukha sakti. Tum apni zindagi jeeyo aur main apni.' She is about to leave when he holds her hand. Maan looks at her from a distance and is about to come forward when she stops him with her eyes. She looks at Dev upset and he slowly moves his hand away, 'Thank you, Geet aur please ho sake toh mujhe maaf kar dena. Maine bohot galat kiya hai.' Geet says, 'Tumhe maaf karna babaji ke haath mein hai, Dev. Mere nahi.' She walks off with Dev feeling very guilty.

He comes in to the room where Naintara is worried to death about Geet's conversation with her. She starts off at Dev and says, 'Dekha aapne apni masoom Geet ko. Hamari zindagi barbaad karne yaha tak aa gayi hai. Aapko paane ke liye itna gir gayi hai, woh aurat. Aur aap uske liye mujhse larh rahe the. Aur aapke bhai ko, koi aur nahi mili thi'' Dev stops her and says, 'Shut up Naintara. Ek Geet hai jo itna sab kuch hone ke baad bhi mujhe maaf karne ke liye tayyaar hai aur ek tum ho, bas karhvi baatein karti rehti ho.' She starts to speak but he says, 'Main Geet ke khilaaf ek lafz nahi sunounga. Humne jitna bura karna tha uske saath, humne kar liya. Ab usse jeene do aur humhe bhi.' Naintara tells herself, 'Yeh Geet kya karne ki koshish kar rahi hai? Dev mujhse aur naraaz kaise ho gaye?' She looks extremely worried and angry.
