ZEE TV will be bidding adieu to one of its most loved shows next month when 'Choti Bahu' comes to an end to make way for a new daily called 'Ram Milayi Jodi'.
The news comes as a big surprise as 'Choti Bahu' was one of the shows that proved a leader in its timeslot, easily beating off competition from rival channels.
Nevertheless, the channel has been monitoring the ratings for each of its underperforming shows and is making changes rapidly to avoid viewer fatigue.
In response to this, the channel will launch Rajita Sharma's 'Ram Milayi Jodi', starring Nishant Malkani in the lead role. Newcomer Priyal Gor, who is 16 years of age, has been roped in to play the female lead. Krutika Desai, Lalit Tiwari, Riva Bubbar, Sanjeev Jogtiyani, Indraneil Goswami and Madhuri Sanjiv also form a part of the show.
The love story revolves around two cultures. The female protagonist hails from a Punjabi family, while the male star is from a Gujarati family.
A launch date for the show is yet to be confirmed but is sure to start in September in the 20:00 slot (UK).
