To my mind, Radhika and Dev gravitated towards each other - because their souls recognised each other. Their union was a union of souls. As these two souls belong to each other, spiritually and legally, there is no wrong. Radhika never for a moment wavered in her faith that Abhay is her husband Dev.
As for Abhay, in the intensity of the moment - having lost Radhka and finding her - and because his soul recognised Radhika for who she was, he naturally feels a bonding with her, illogical as it may seem to him as Abhay. His deep memories are struggling to get out, but as Abhay he somehow is refusing to allow it to emerge due to a perceived allegience to Kanika and perhaps Mataram.
