This nadeem Shravan track became a superhit in the early 90s and again, its simple tuneful melody with decent singing makes it listening a pleasure.

But, if this track is called outdated, it surely is.
Simply because the emotional quotient (EQ) is missing by a mile. Kumar sanu sings superbly as always, but it really took me by surprise to recognize this voice. Is it sadhna's?

Cannot believe it..maybe her voice may not have matured that time, but it sounds very rustic, pretty boring too. Another factor that goes against this track is the scale-its high throughout, emotions are sometimes expressed, sometimes not.

I would not really say that she sang badly, but she sang decently. If it were for more modulations and varying of scales plus more effort towards expressing emotions (this seems to be a sad type of a track after all), it could have got a few more brownie points.

This track can be prove to be deterrent for sadhna in this round. I would just say-strictly OK. Simply because I can only hear it at a maximum of once, or twice. 3rd time, I will go off to sleep even before it starts.

rated 8/10, but I would give it 7.5.

Yes she should, it's sad that she doesn't sing as much. But doesn't she sing a lot in the South? Or has she cut down there too? 😕

Nice singing by Sadhna Sargamji!

This song required some nice emotions and required you to sing at a high pitch throughout the song. She did a nice job throughout. Nice voice quality, but I think Kumar Sanu was stronger, and she kind of got overshadowed by him. Also, though her high pitches were nice, I think they could've gone better, they kind of were a little restricted. I think she could've sang them more openly. She had some nice little harkats there too throughout the song.

Overall, great singing by Sadhna. The voice quality and emotions were there. The song was pretty difficult to sing. She handled it well throughout. Not perfect, but still very good.

Why this mediocre song has been chosen to evaluate Sadhna Sargam, an ace singer with extreme training under guidance of kalyan Anand ji. She sounds much better in dil mera ek tara (16 december) on rag yaman kalyan or more ghar aaye sawariya (raag Charukesi) or even saat samanadar paar (Vishatma), she is very talented : great voice with excellent range and pucca on sur: you can't ask for more.

We will get to other songs too, in time. We've already evaluated 'Saat Samundar'. Maybe we will get to 'Dil Mera Ek Tara' and 'Ghar Aaye Sawariya' eventually.

As for now, 'Teri Umeed Tera Intezaar' is a popular song of its time.

I dunno why, but this song always reminds me of Kishore Kumar's 'Khiza ke Phool':
