About The Show

'Bidaai' is a show of an orphan girl 'Sadhna' and her life's struggle with her biggest asset, that is her own 'beauty' which becomes her biggest curse.

Sadhna, an extremely fair and beautiful girl is in complete contrast with her cousin sister Ragini, who is dark and unattractive. However the two sisters share a great camaraderie of love and bonding despite the differences in their physical attributes. Brought up by her Mama(Prakash Chand) and Mami (Kaushalya) in the beautiful city of Agra, Sadhna a humble and simple person, is left upon the mercy of her relatives after an early death of her mother.

Her father (Kishan Chand) works in America with the only hope to someday fulfill his wife's dream of seeing their daughter's 'Bidaai'. But all this is far from simple, as Sadhna's mami has always hated her for her beauty and simplicity, which becomes the ground to emotional upheavals in the family.

Meddled with complexities, Sadhna's life is a portrayal of the Indian society's two-faced attitude towards a woman's beauty which on one hand is her greatest asset and on the other, her greatest curse.

With its strong cast line-up 'Bidaai' will witness coming together of the veterans actors ranging from -Alok Nath (mama), Vibha Chabbir (mami) and Mahesh Thakur (Father), while Parul Chauhan (Ragini) and Sarah Khan (playing the lead character of Sadhna) are the fresh young faces on the show.

Beauty is more than skin deep...

Bidaai is a story of two sisters, Sadhna (beautiful) and Ragini (unattractive). Sadhna is the adopted child in the family.

Life is pleasant for Sadhna as she is beautiful but society is a bit rude and harsh on Ragini, who faces a lot more challenges because she is not good-looking.

Both the sisters love each other immensely and are good natured but society's approach towards them makes Sadhna's life difficult as her mother starts differentiating between them. Sadhna is treated like a step-daughter in the house and feels punished for her good looks but Ragini loves her unconditionally.

All-in-all, the story is about these two sisters whose \'looks\' determine their happiness. This unique story embarks the journey of two sisters and makes one question the belief - "Are beautiful people happier than ugly Bettys?"

Today's Episode:

Sadhna and Alekh are in the car (Diljaniya track is playing).

Sadhna asks Alekh to drop her near Guru Ma's home. Alekh is curious, he says that her Mamaji's house is further. Sadhna says she has some work! Alekh stops the car, and Sadhna gets down, and moves away (Sadhna doesnt even look at Alekh ... while Alekh is staring at her with his jaws wide open).

Sadhna comes to Guru Ma's place, and starts learning dance. Meanwhile, Ragini is practicing in her home (Rajvansh house). Vasu keeps bringing refreshments to nourish Ragini. She also motivates her time to time.

Mamaji is curious about Sadhna. Why Sadhna goes out early in dawn-time ... and returns late.

Mamaji is worried. He asks Sadhna, but Sadhna makes excuses.

Mamaji calls Sadhna's office, and realises that Sadhna is actually on a three day leave.

Mamaji is confused.

Malti is back. She is behaving nicely with Mami and also Sadhna for a change.

Sadhna is practicing ... even at home. Malti is curious.

Alekh arrives in Sadhna's office. Mallika appears. Alekh inquires about Sadhna from Mallika, and Mallika says that she gave Sadhna a 3 day leave. Alekh is curious...

Finally the day of the NATRAJ DANCE COMPETITION HAS ARRIVED.

Guru Ma blesses Sadhna. Guru Ma is motivated by Sadhna's innocence, commitment and compassion. She takes a coin as her Guru Dakshina!

Guru Ma tells Sadhna that she is an EXAMPLE of innocence, commitment, grace and goodness. Sadhna's commitment has made Guru Ma her fan. Guru Ma gives away her own GHUNGROO to Sadhna. Sadhna is humbled.

Ragini is excited, and asks Ranvir to postpone their romantic Valentine day plans for the 15th, because Ragini have other plans for the 14th of February for Ranvir! Ranvir is curious.

Ragini is confident of her victory. Vasu motivates her further.

Ragini wishes to go to Mama and Mamiji (her parents) to take their blessings. Vasu asks
Ragini not to HASSLE ... she can just give a call!

Ragini does as Vasu advises. She picks up the phone, but Mamiji already gave a call. She picks up the phone and gets all the well wishes from Mami and Malti.

Sadhna packs her bag back in Sharma house. The touches her father's picture, and offers a prayer. She sets off towards the Mahautsav!

Mamaji wishes to take Sadhna to the Mahautsav ... meanwhile Mamiji pukes Blood. Mamaji is horrified.

Pre-Cap: Sharma house take Mamiji to hospital. Mamaji gets to know everything. NATARAJ MAHAUTSAV NIGHT HAS BEGUN!!!

thanks for the quick update. the story is really speeding up - no wonder the trps are doing well. looovvvving the new confident sadhna and the lost in love alekh.

I dont know how many will agree, but I feel for an event like Taj Mahotsav, extremely skilled dancers need to dance. Neither Sdahna nor Ragini has the grace..
But one thing I liked in Sadhna was her blessing by a Guru, its said in classical music world, that an artist without guru is like a child without a father.

BTW does anyone know Komolika Guhathkurta?

Bani, this is Nritya Mahotsav...not Taj Mahotsav event...so it might be little different. Lets see what happens.

Komolika Guhathkurta...is she Sadhana's dance teacher ? If yes...then she is a trained classical dancer. I read in her interview.
