Part 1
The episode begins with Dadi coming over to Vaishali and asking, all these things are for chadhava right? She uncovers a red cloth and there is a pile of papers tied together. She exclaims, Arre the inheritance papers Rads' signed are just kept here? Camera focuses on sneaky expressions of Susheel and Arjun. Dadi calls Birju to take the papers and place them in a file to give to Tripathiji. Vivek turns to Dev and playfully says see how nicely all the preparations are done. If you have any other other requests, state them now otherwise don't complain later. Dev replies bhaiya, have I ever complained to you about anything? Vivek then says to Dadi, so shall we take the baaraat out? Deepika comes over and says the shagun ka tel (oil) which is to come from the bride's side has not been applied to the doorways, so how can we take the baaraat out? Vivek asks why it has not come and Susheel makes a crack that the bride's side probably forgot or didn't think it within their means since oil is so expensive these days. Dadi, Dev, and Vivek are upset by his comments. Mrin and Arjun are smiling like evil little baboons, and just then Shastri walks in with the shagun oil. He apologizes to Dadi for the delay saying there was so much work going on. Dadi happily takes the thali with the oil in it from Shastriji. Deepika says, oh only oil? In my marriage there was chadhava with the oil too. Susheel makes another crack and says in this marriage the Ganges is flowing backwards. The grooms' side is not asking for dowry but rather doing chadhava after chadhava for the bride's side. Just take the papers of Dev's inheritance for example...even before the wedding, Dev's share of the inheritance has been handed over to the bride. Dev and Shastriji look very upset and Susheel sarcastically says, what's wrong Shastriji, have I offended you? I just meant to say you have certainly chosen the right groom for your daughter. Shastriji replies that he knows exactly what Susheel meant to say. Then he folds his hands and says, I don't want anything and neither does my daughter. She only wants your love...your blessings...the opportunity to serve all the members of the Purohit family as the choti bahu of the household. Shastriji then addresses Dadi and states that after being insulted this way (by Susheel), he's not so inclined to welcome the baaraat to come to his home and that they should think about it once more before proceeding to bring the baraat. Dev is shocked and the camera does a 360 on him. Other Purohits are also speechless. Dev immediately apologizes to Shastriji.
Part 2
Dev continues that he never wanted it to be that Radhika considered herself smaller than him or unworthy in any way. He says, that's why before she sets foot in our home I gave her her rights (putting the inheritance in her name). I give you a promise Babuji, that mine and Radhika's marriage will happen at any cost and under all circumstances. I will accept her in any way, shape, or form no matter what. (Mangalam Bhagavan Vishnu is playing in the background). Dadi adds that we only wish Radhika to enter our home wearing the sanskaron ki chunari (cloth of good upbringing) that you have draped her in and the ornaments of pavitrata (purity) that you have decorated her with. I would give not only the family inheritance, but all the wealth in the world to gain such a daughter-in-law! (Really beautiful dialogues by Dadi here, she is so awesome!) Shastriji becomes pacified and Dadi tells him to go home and prepare for the kanyadan (giving away of daughter in marriage) as they will come soon with the baaraat to bring Radhika home. Dev looks so happy while Vaishali and Mirchas look uneasy and upset. Scene shifts to Shastri home and beautiful Rads is standing near the window. Devaki comes into the room, looks at her, then starts to leave. Rads turns around and says, Ma you are leaving without saying anything? Devaki is teary-eyed and says no bitiya, I just came in to see if you were ready. Your father has taken the shagun oil over to the groom's side and they will be departing with the baaraat any moment now. Rads says, yes I am ready, Vishaka got me ready with her own hands. She tells Devaki to sit with her for some time and asks her what's troubling her. Devaki says nothing, it's just that there is so much work to do, I am a little tired that's all. Rads says I too forgot to ask you how you are. I have been so wrapped up in my happiness about my wedding that I cannot think of anything else. Devaki says Radhika do you really think you could forget about me despite everything? Rads takes Devaki's hands in hers and says Ma you always worry about everyone. After I leave you will look after babuji and Amma, but who will look after you? Devaki replies that Vishaka is here to look after me and Rads says yes, but soon she too will get married and leave, then what? Devaki looks down and Rads tells her not to worry, Vishaka has changed a lot and surely babuji will forgive her and even find a good husband for her. She will be a good daughter-in-law to any household she goes to (I don't like the sound of all this...it seems like creatives are foreshadowing Vish's return to PB đ). Devaki and Rads hug and Devaki is thinking, how can such injustice be done with such a good girl? Please Kanha, please give some enlightenment/understanding to Amma that what she's planning is wrong. Please save my Radhika!
Part 3
Susheel is shouting orders to the servants and tells Birju that a responsible person is needed to handle the horse Dev will ride on and Birju should go quickly. Dadi says wait Susheel, let him also see his brother's sehra. Susheel says fine and Birju thanks him and is so happy. He asks Dadi if he can tie Dev's sehra and Dadi laughs and says no, this ritual is done by the sister-in-laws. She calls over Mrin and Deepika and Deepika comes over with a tray of dates and says they have to do chadhava of dates too. She asks Mrin can I stand next to you jiji, so that I will look nice in the photos. Mrin makes a face and says how many times have I told you not to call me jiji? Deepika looks a little hurt. Mrin then ties on the sehra and makes a big show of it, taking some kaajal from her eyes and applying it to Dev's head and saying may no one's evil eyes be cast upon my brother-in-law. She then places some dates in his hands. Deepika and others do the same and Birju jokes that Dev must be falling to pieces waiting to leave from there with the baaraat. Dadi laughs and says you're right Birju, lets get going. Over at Shastri house Rads is wiping Devaki's tears saying now now Ma, that's enough. Delhi is not too far from Vrindavan. I will come running to visit you when I wish to. Vish comes in and Rads says Ma look how pretty the paayals look on her feet. Devaki cries and says bitiya, these paayals came from your in-laws...for you. Rads and Vish both look shocked.
Part 4
Rads looks at Vish for a moment as if she understands that something is not right and Vish looks guilty, like she's hiding something. But the moment passes and Rads says, it's o.k. Ma, these paayals look much better on Vishaka. Devaki gives Vish a pathetic look and then leaves. Rads calls Vish over to her to sit down. She then grabs a handful of air and closes her palm. She tells Vish, before this flies away quickly put it on your face. Vish hesitatingly asks what is this? Rads says, your smile. Your face does not look nice or complete without a smile. She pats Vish on the head and smiles and Vish looks like the cat who swallowed the canary. Scene switches to the Purohits departing with the baaraat. The band is playing Shayad Meri Shaadi Ka Khayal (popular old song from the Rajesh Khanna-Tina Munim movie) and Birju is shouting orders to the light people that all of Vrindavan should be lit up today. Vivek tells him to tell the people in charge of the fireworks to light up the sky as soon as Dev descends from the horse. Dadi, Vaishali, and family bring Dev out and Dadi does aarti to him. The song Dulha Bangaya Oye from...yikes...'Vivah' is playing! (I hope this is not foreshadowing of a 'Vivah' track! đ˛) Dev ascends the horse, pushes aside his sehra for a moment and smiles with anticipation (Avi looks so handsome and sweet!). Rads is shown waiting by the window also smiling in anticipation (Rubi looks gorgeous!). Fireworks are lit in the baaraat's path and the baaraat members and guests start dancing. Song changes (band is playing something, but I don't recognize what song it is). At Shastri house, Shastriji is making arrangements for the baaraat's arrival. Someone comes up to him and says the garlands for the milani are not enough as there are 110 members of the baaraat but only 100 garlands. Shastriji tells him to see to it that it's fixed and also fetch the dhoti and saree that are kept for the ceremony. Scene cuts back to Dev's baaraat (band is now playing Shayad Meri Shaadi Ka Khayal again). Mrin and Arjun are dancing and laughing together while poor Deepika is dancing alone. Dadi and Birju are also dancing a lot. Baaraat is approaching fast and Shastriji asks for the puja thali. He's told it's kept in the mandap and Shastriji says what's it doing there, bring it fast we need it NOW! Also, arrange refreshments for the baaraatis. He then frantically calls for Devaki and tells her the baaraat is almost here, hurry and come. Devaki spots evil chudail Amma heading towards the house and says Amma, where are you going, the baaraat is almost here. Amma, with a determined and evil look on her face, says she is going into the house to do what she has decided needs to be done. Devaki is freaking out but tells Amma that she will not allow her to do anything wrong. Amma says nothing and nobody can stop her and tells Devaki try to stop me if you really have any guts. Devaki follows the chudail into the house shouting Amma, Amma stop! Amma walks into the bedroom and sees only Vishaka there. Vish looks at her and says someone has come to meet Radhika and is outside. Episode ends with Amma glaring at Vish and Vish with a weird smile on her face.
Precap: Dev is slowly lifting the bride's veil and smiling. We are not shown the bride's face but the necklace is the same as the one Radhika is wearing. The theme music from the film Hum Dil Dechuke Sanam is playing in the background.
My comments: I have to admit the creatives are doing a good job of keeping their agenda under wraps. Right now we just don't know what will happen. Will Amma succeed in the bride switch game? Will there be a fire set? If so, who will burn and who will try to save the victim? What is Vishaka's real reason for returning? Who is behind the ghungat? I rewound the last part of the episode three times to try to interpret Vishaka's smile. Was she smiling because she set Radhika up for something bad to happen or because she was actually saving Radhika from Amma by sending her outside to meet with the visitor? Is the visitor Dev or are the creatives trying to confuse us with the precap? Aaaaaahhhhh! I for one will not get any sleep tonight! We will have to wait and see what happens in tomorrow's maha episode!
