Part 1
The episode begins with Vaishali and Mrin looking at jewellry. Mrin says Mummyji in a short time Vishaka will come here, Radharani's mehndi will decorate her hands, and everything we wanted will happen exactly as we planned. Vaishali and Mrin are smirking and smiling. Dadi walks in and asks if the gifts for Shastriji's relatives have been packed and Vaishali replies that she has given them to Birju to gift wrap. Dadi tells Mrin that she did good by suggesting that Shastriji's family come to Delhi because it will be a lot of fun with them here. Then Dadi mentions that yesterday when she called VR Vishaka answered the phone and it upset her. She says she spoke to Devaki and invited everyone to come except Vishaka. Vaishali and Mrin exchange looks and seem worried that Vish may not come since Dadi didn't invite her. Dadi says I hope by my not mentioning Vish's name Devaki understands that Vish is not invited and she won't bring her here. Dadi leaves the room and Mrin jumps on Vaishali to hurry up and call Amma in VR to make sure Vish comes to Delhi. Vaishali calls and Amma answers. When Vaishali asks if they are bringing Vish with them, Amma says how could it be that you ask and I don't bring your choti bahu with me. Vaishali is relieved and says oh I was so worried she wouldn't be coming and I wanted to call to make sure. Vaishali is smiling like a baboon and says that she will only be satisfied once Vish arrives there and she can apply Radharani's mehndi to her hands. Amma says don't worry, that is exactly what will happen.
Part 2
Amma tells Devaki aren't you ready yet, we have to go to Delhi. Devaki replies that since they will be returning late from PB and tomorrow is the mehndi function at their home she thought she would soak the mehndi and leave it overnight. Amma is eyeing the bowl of mehndi covered with a red cloth that Devaki is holding. She tells Devaki good idea, give me the bowl, let me put it away, you get dressed. Devaki gives Amma the bowl, nods her head yes, and scurries off to get ready. Amma walks into the bedroom holding the bowl and with an evil smile and tells herself I will not let the shagun mehndi be applied to Radhika's hands first, I will make sure it's applied to Vishaka's hands first. I will hide the mehndi in such a place that nobody will ever be able to find it. She puts it on top of the almira next to Radhika's green suitcase (how is that a good hiding place???) and utters a big Radhe Krishna. Then she tells herself as long as the shagun mehndi is applied to Vish first what do I care who it's applied to afterwards? Next scene the Shastri family walks out of the house ready to go to Delhi. Shastriji says he will go inform Nandu's parents that Nandu should stay with Radhika while we are gone. Devaki says don't worry, I already told them and Nandu will come here right after school. Shastriji tells Radhika he doesn't like leaving her alone and going but what can he do, they were invited by her in-laws so they must go. Radhika smiles and replies I'm not alone babuji, my Kanha is with me and by evening Nandu will come too.
Part 3
Amma joins the family at the gate and says wait where is Vishaka, isn't she going with us? She calls loudly for Vishaka and Vish replies I'm coming. She appears wearing a deep green saree with spaghetti strap blouse. Shastriji is upset that she's going with them. Amma grins from ear to ear and Radhika places her hand on Shastriji's arm to pacify him. They all set off and Vish tells Rads, don't worry Rads, your work will be done. Nosy Amma overhears and asks, what work? Vish covers and says oh Amma, in a wedding there are hundreds of things to be done. If I list all of them to you we will get late, c'mon lets go, and she ushers Amma away. Scene shifts to PB living room. Mrin hands a servant a tray covered with red cloth and tells her keep all these things in my room and don't bring them out until I instruct you to do so, do you understand. Vaishali asks Mrin what is all that. She replies that she had some cones made of Radharani's mehndi. Some was sent to Rads but first it will be applied to Vish since she will be here soon. Vaishali looks unsure and Mrin asks, what's the matter? Vaishali replies we thought of everything thus far but we didn't stop to consider how we will actually apply the mehndi to Vishaka with Dadi around. The phone rings and Dadi walks into the room to answer it. She speaks to someone named Sujata and says yes I remember today is Tulasi Vivah but tell me how can I come to the temple, we are having a mehndi function here and samdhiji and family are coming. Mrin and Vaishali are listening. Dadi ends the call and Vaishali pounces on her says Maji you attend Tulasi Vivah ceremony every year, right? Dadi says yes but how can I go, today is our mehndi function and Shastri family is coming. Mrin pipes in that Dadi they just left Vrindavan and it will take them time to come with traffic and all. Vaishali says badi bahu is right, you should attend Tulasi Vivah function, that way you can also bring the shingaar articles from the temple which are to be given to Radhika, it will be very auspicious, right Maji? Dadi agrees. Mrin suggests Dadi take Dev with her as he will also get aashirwad and Dadi says Dev cannot go out as his haldi ceremony has already been done. She jokes that Vaishali and Mrin should keep on eye on Dev so he doesn't go secretly to VR to meet Radhika. Vaishali and Mrin glance at eachother with knowling smiles. Dadi says I will go attend Tulasi Vivah function and return quickly. Evil saas and bahu are thrilled that Dadi has left. Scene shifts to Dev (looking dashing in white kurta pajama with sleeves rolled up) in his bedroom looking at Radhika's pic on the wall. He picks up his cell to call her. Rads is shown playing with Nandu and she says atkan matkan dahi chatokan raja gaya Delhi (prince has gone to Delhi). Nandu says why only the prince? Now the princess is about to go to Delhi too. Rads smiles. Phone rings. Rads tells Nandu to go play outside, she will be right there, and she excitedly goes to answer the phone.
Part 4
Rads answers Dev's call and says Kahiye (Tell me). Dev says to Rads today is your test. Today I am going to have shagun ki mehndi applied to me. It is said that the deeper the hue of the mehndi, the more one's partner loves him/her. Now whether or not my mehndi is deep and dark is your imtihaan (test) right?
Radhika pretends she's offended and says so, that means that you are doubtful as to whether your mehndi will be dark or not. Does that mean you doubt my love for you too? You are comparing my love to the colour of mehndi? Dev looks a bit shocked that she's saying all this and replies, no Radhika I didn't mean it that way. I know the mehndi colour will be dark, so dark that until today nobody will ever see mehndi so dark. Rads is smiling and laughing silently to herself for the little joke she played of being hurt by what he said about the mehndi being a test for her. She replies I am fully confident that the colour of my mehndi too will be dark. But why did you become worried just now? I wasn't really hurt by what you said, I was just joking with you. Dev smiles now and look at Rads' photo on the wall. He says Radhika tumahre rhootne se pehle hi main tumhe manana chahata hoon (even before you become upset with me I want to make it up to you) so that after our marriage there will never be any distance or misunderstanding between us. Radhika says that will never happen, I have faith. Nandu walks in and interupts (someone please lock Birju and Nandu in a room together while RaDev are talking to eachother! These two are always interupting RaDev!) and says didi you said you were coming soon, how can I play atkan matkan by myself? Rads tells Dev she must go and they tell eachother to take care and hang up.
Part 5
Downstairs the mehndi function is in full swing and Birju shouts to the servants to arrange for tea and samosas as the Shastri family is about to arrive. Mrin and Arjun bump into eachother while passing by and exchange looks. Vaishali asks Birju where Dev is, call him and Birju says Dev is in his room and has already tried on five outfits and is up to the sixth but I got bored so I came downstairs. Dev joins them (wearing a creme-beige coloured sherwani) and chides Birju for making jokes. Vaishali tells Dev he looks so handsome and puts a kala tikka on him to ward off the evil eye (one kala tikka isn't going to be enough for all the evil surrounding poor Dev, including his own hypocrite mother!) Dev asks where is Dadi, and Vaishali looks nervously at Mrin. Then she says Dadi went to Hari mandir for Tulasi Vivah ceremony but she will be back by the time the mehndi function has started. Just then the Shastris arrive and annoying new Deepika runs up ahead of everyone else and starts babbling how was the journey, no difficulty I hope, and Vaishali kind of moves her aside and greets the Shastris. Radhe Radhe's are exchanged. Vaishali and Mrin are searching for Vish and Amma goes to pull her out from behind the curtain on the dooway. Vish steps forward holding a red bag and there is a "dha ta na" moment with the camera panning everyone's shocked faces (Dev, Vivek, Arjun, Susheel) and Vaishali and Mrin's nervous smiles. Vish looks a little scared. Devaki looks constipated as usual. Dev furrows his brows and asks, Ma why has SHE come here? Dadima didn't invite her did she? Vaishali tells him don't speak like that in front of our guests. Now that she has come just stay calm and don't ruin the festivities. (YOU DESERVE A BIG SLAP VAISHALI!!!) Everyone walks away and Mrin and Vaishali go up to Vish. Mrin tells her to ignore Dev's comments and that everyone is happy that she came. Vaishali says come in Vishaka, this house is still yours, don't hesitate. Mrin holds Vish's arm and they walk her in and seat her with all the women. Mrin tells the servant to go bring the mehndi which she told her to keep in her (Mrin's) room. Dev walks by and Vish excuses herself saying she'll be right back. She goes up to Dev to give him the bag in her hand and Dev says, why have you come here? Vish says I myself didn't want to come, but Radhika has sent something for you. She gives him the bag and says don't you have anything to give Radhika? Dev says if I want to send something to Radhika I will find another way to do it, I won't let your shadow fall upon whatever I want to send her. He walks away leaving Vish looking stunned and upset. Devaki, Shastriji, and Amma are seated in the living room with Arjun and Susheel. Susheel says we don't leave any stone unturned when it comes to treating our guests with respect. Then he makes a comment about how they have been through these formalities once before and this is the second time, so why be shy, please have tea and snacks. Amma is looking around wondering what is going on with Vishaka and the mehndi. She spots the ladies seated in the other room for the menhdi and says I'll be right back and gets up and goes there. Deepika tells the women to play the dholak in such a way that everyone knows a wedding is happening in this home. She then tells Vaishali that Dev won't apply mehndi without Dadi there so why don't we put mehndi on the rest of the women first? Vaishali sees Vishaka come back in and invites her to have mehndi applied. Vish says no thanks, I'll just have it applied tomorrow. Mrin gets up and practically pulls Vish down to the floor to sit next to her and get mehndi done. Mrin insists she will do Vish's mehndi and will do a very pretty design. Amma walks in as Vish is protesting that no I will just get my mehndi done tomorrow with Radhika and tells her not to be rude and obey her elders. Mrin takes Vish's hand and picks up the mehndi cone from the thhali. More "dha ta na" moments as camera focuses on the three evil witches smiling. Vish looks uncomfortable. Mrin is about to touch the cone to Vish's palm and the episode ends.
PRECAP: Radhika is reaching on the top of the almira to get something. Nandu says hurry up didi. Suddenly the bowl of shagun mehndi which Amma hid up there falls into Radhika's hands and her palm becomes stained with the mehndi. 😊
