I really shouldn't have written this, but I had a whim and so voila! *grins* 😳 It's on the song Love Story by Taylor Swift (awesome song 😉) And I wanted to write it for my bff. Or well maybe I didn't but she wanted it! 😛😳 Enjoy! 😃
She felt the sand crush beneath her feet as she trailed along the beach. The sun was going down giving her a sad feeling. The day was coming to an end and that thought engulfed her as she felt the waves crash against her feet.
She sighed as she collapsed a few feet away from the water. She picked up some sand in her hand and let it fall through the gaps in her fingers, thinking about her past. The past she longed to forget, the same past that was thrusting itself in front of her once again.
She had first met him nearly two years ago when he had come to visit the States and it had been almost like love at first sight, something she swore she didn't believe in.
We were both young when I first saw you
I closed my eyes
And the flashback starts

On the balcony in summer air

He took her hand and she felt her heart beat accelerate. All her rational thoughts seemed to fade as he led her down to the dance floor, her blue skirt swishing as he twirled her around.
"Don't think about tomorrow," He whispered in her ear.
"Hard not to," She frowned, gripping his hand tightly.
"I'll come back for you." He nodded.
She sighed as she watched his other friends staring at them. "They're staring."
"I've noticed. Ignore 'em. They're just jealous of not having a bird quite as gorgeous as you,"
She rolled her eyes until his hand made its way to her cheek. "Anyone told you you're as beautiful as your name is? Rubina. I just can't stop sayin' it."
"Kian, you're going to stop saying it when you go back to Ireland tomorrow." She eased away from him and walked to the balcony.
See the lights
See the party, the ball gowns

"Do you think distance will change the way I feel?" He stepped behind her into the cool air and put his arms around her.
"I don't want it to," Rubina shifted around to face him. "I feel like this is a onetime thing. I don't want you to go,"
"I don't want to have to leave you either. The thought makes me sick." Kian sighed. "But I can't stay and you can't come."
"I wish you could stay," she sighed. "It feels like you just came yesterday."
"The tour we came for lasted 2 months Rubina," Kian smiled. "It's definitely not just yesterday."
Rubina shrugged. "Do you think it was meant to happen?"
"Every moment we're together," Kian smiled. "It's like Romeo & Juliet,"
Rubina shrugged. "I never actually liked them that much,"
"What if we imagine different people for the legendary characters?" Kian grinned. "Like ye and me?"
Rubina smirked. "Really Kian, you think of US as Romeo and Juliet? We're hardly that tragic."
"You don't think so?" Kian lightly touched her cheek. "Being apart? On two different continents? Not tragic Rubina?"
"Fine," She smiled and snuggled closer to him. "When do you have to leave?"
A few of the other guys came to where they were and Rubina groaned. "I spoke too soon,"
Kian smiled. "I'll stay in touch."

With that he had gone, left her life as quickly as he had come. She wished that she hadn't believed him so much then. Now all it caused was hurt.

Now here she was sitting in the sand on a beach far from home.
There was a weird sense of familiar-ness in the air and that made her feel closer to home than anything else in Ireland had.
She smiled as she watched the moon appear on top of the ocean, casting an eerie light over it.
Somewhere in her heart she could feel him around her, even though she knew it was completely false considering how big the country was.
In a way she knew if they had kept in contact she wouldn't have felt so awkward being here now. She would've felt like she had come specifically to meet him, not because she had an exchange program in school.
So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet cuz we're dead if he knew

Skip this town for a little while
She felt someone's stare on her back and slowly she turned to see the shadow of someone directly behind her.
She stood up quickly picking up the sandals she had tossed to the side. She wanted to peer at him but advice from friends told her staring at someone in a foreign land wasn't the best approach.
She took one step forward and gasped when the intruder made the same move. She glanced up and could feel his gaze penetrating through her.
She looked back down at the sand and saw him take a step towards her. Slowly she stepped away and that's when she saw another stranger lurking behind him.
"Ye there! Get away from 'er!" A familiar voice came and her heart raced.
She wished she could look closer but as he came towards her, she felt she was having an illusion.
"Kian," his name escaped her lips like a whisper and when he turned to look at her she felt as if she'd collapse at the knees.
Seeing Kian come to Rubina's side, the other intruder retreated his steps back down the beach and it was only the two of them alone in the moonlight.
Without saying another word he took her hand and led her up the boardwalk to his car.

"What are ye doing 'ere?" The first words out of his mouth stung her heard until she looked up and saw the bright smile.
"I—came for an exchange program with my school."
"You didn't give me a shout?"
"I didn't have your number." Rubina shrugged.
"That doesn't matter anymore." Kian smiled and took her face in his pals. "I've missed you." Without another gesture she felt her eyes close and the feel of his soft lips on her.
She was still reeling from the kiss when he leaned his forehead against hers.
"Did ye change yer number?" He whispered softly.
Rubina frowned and shook her head. "No Kian, it's the same that it's been since you were there a year ago."
She took a deep breath, worried of what would happen once she unleashed the emotions she held in her heart but she couldn't hold on to this relationship if it was all fake.
"Why didn't you come back Kian?" She sighed, turning away from him. "I was waiting."
"And every time I tried callin' ye, something or the other came in the way. First I'd get messages that yer number was gone, and then I'd lose yer number." He sighed. "I told ye it was like Romeo and Juliet."
"All the obstacles are stacked against us," She muttered under her breath.
I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you was fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said
"I couldn't believe when you left," She admitted softly. "I thought it never happened and was all a dream."
"Does this feel like a dream?" He kissed the back of her hand and smiled when her eyes closed.
"No—but really Kian, the past years' been hell for me,"
"For me as well," He admitted.
"What now then?" she asked.
"How long as you here for?"
Rubina shrugged. "My program's for six months, but I've already been here for a month,"
Kian nodded before kneeling down in front of her in the sand.
Romeo save me I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you but you never come
Is this in my head? I don't know what to think
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring
"What are you doing?" Rubina backed away and frowned. "Get up,"
He silently shook his head and brought her closer to him. "I don't want ye to ever leave and every time I go somewhere, I want ye with me. The way it oughta be."
And said, marry me Juliet

I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress

"Kian—why do you have a ring in your pocket if we just met now after a year?"
Rubina frowned. "Please don't tell me you've been walking around with it that long,"
He lightly slipped it on her finger without any approval and stood up. "I talked to Kiran last night."
"Last night?" she asked, "Why? How?"
"She called me—she found the number from the website or somethin'," He shook his head. "That's not important though, what's important is she told me ye were here and then today I found out where ye were, and I followed you here."
"You followed me here?" Rubina smiled.
Kian nodded. "Bought the ring last night after speakin' with 'er. Glad I did too,"
Rubina grinned looking down at the large diamond shimmering in the moonlight. "I'm just surprised."
"Why?" He snaked his arm around her waist as they walked. "I've told ye, we was meant to be,"
"Like Romeo and Juliet," she sighed as she leaned her head down on his shoulder.
'Cause we were both young when I first saw you...
