Part 1
The episode begins with the Panchayat telling Shastriji about the charge that people of Vrindavan have filed against Shastriji for stealing the murtis from the temple. The Panchayat lets him know of the meeting to take place tomorrow morning. Amma asks why there is a Panchayat on her lalla. The Panchayat says we are helpless, we wanted to solve this matter outside of the Panchayat but Shastriji is not telling us where he took the murtis or why he did such a thing. Amma tries to argue but Shastriji stops her and tells the Panchayat as you wish, I will present myself for the Panchayat tomorrow.The Panchayat leave and the family all look at Shastriji going into his room.
Vivek comes to Dadi who is sitting near the house temple and asks where Dev is and he has been out for so long. Dadi says Thakurji/God is his help, he will return soon. Vivek seems upset and says well they had a fight, Dadi says yes it is their first disagreement, it will take time to pacify her right? Vivek nods. Dadi says kanha manaye aur Radha na maane, aisa kabhi huya hai kabhi?(Kanha tries to pacify and Radha hasn't agreed, such a thing has happened before?) Suddenly Dev comes back screaming Dadima happily. Dadi asks has she agreed. Dev says yes and I also met Shastriji and told him that we want a simple wedding. Dadi asks if Radhika's smile came back, Dev smiles and says yes she looked very happy. Vivek says that means your rounds of Vrindavan were successful. Dev bends down towards Vivek and says I feel a big burden has been lifted off my shoulders. Dev prays in front of the house temple.
Part 2
The next morning the Panchayat ask Shastriji if he moved the idols. Shastriji says yes, they ask why. He says my place of doing puja has changed. The Panchayat asks where the puja is taking place. Shastriji says I do not feel it is necessary to tell you. The Panchayat is surprised and so is everyone else. The Panchayat head says do you know you are in front of the Panchayat, you have to answer all questions. Shastriji says you cannot force me to answer personal questions. The Panch says you stole the idols from the temple, anything related to this- how can it be personal? Shastriji says kindly don't use inappropriate words, I have not stolen the idols, I have changed their location. Another member asks the place where everyone worships, why did you change it? Shastriji says I cannot tell you this. Everyone starts whispering. Another Panch member says you had no right to take the idols from a public temple like this. Shastriji says all temples are public, but the idols in this temple were placed by my grandfather, therefore I got these idols in my inheritance. Moving the idols from one location to another is my right and I do not see anything wrong in it. The Panchayat member says you hurt a lot of religious sentiments of a lot of people and more so, you are not answering the questions of the Panchayat and insulting us.
Shastriji says I am just presenting my case, whatever I did, I did it as my right. Asking me such questions does not come under the rules and regulations of the Panchayat. Everyone is shocked. The Panch head says though you did not do a crime, you definitely did adharm/unrighteous deed and therefore decision on this topic will be taken by someone else and not us, everyone is surprised by that announcement including Shastriji. Shastriji asks who, the Panchayat says that you will come to know tomorrow morning, you have to present yourself before us tomorrow again. They tell Shastriji that if you had cooperated with us, we perhaps would have forgiven you but because of you stubbornness and lack of cooperation, your case has worsened and therefore whatever decision is taken tomorrow, there will be no forgiveness or lessening of the punishment, please be here by 11am tomorrow. Shastriji folds his hands and says as you wish.
Part 3
Radhika is praying in front of Kanha and is crying. She tells Kanha yeh sab kyun ho raha hai kanha, babuji ko dand kyon mil raha hai? (why is all this happening kanha, why is father being punsihed?) He is doing everything because of me, so whatever adharm has happened, I should get the punishment. She says mere babuji ko dukh mat do kanha, jo bhi dukh dene hai, woh mujhe de do (please don't hurt my father, whatever hurt you want to give, give me). Suddenly Amma comes and screams the hurt I will give you. Radhika looks up, amma says kapti, jisse babuji bolat hai, unhe dukh devat hai (crafty woman, who you call father, you are hurting him?) Amma continues today your father is suffering because of you and here you are doing an act of praying? Amma catched Radhika by her hair and pulls her out of her room, saying I knew with such an unfortunate girl, all these troubles will come. Radhika is crying and holding her hair. Amma says you will not stay a minute in this house, it is very important to remove this bad luck from here. Radhika screams, Amma pushes her to the floor and she falls down. Amma again picks her by her hair and pulls her up and drags her, Devki comes running and separate the two and says leave her alone Amma, what are you doing? Amma says I am doing what I should have done a long time ago. Radhika is on Devki's should looking dishevelled and crying. Amma says this girl is the reason for every sadness, hardship. I am sure when she was born, she also ate up her mother, that is why her family put her on the temple doorsteps and lalla picked her up. Devki says please stop Ammaji, I will not hear one bad word about her. Ammaji says God please explain to her- then looks at Devki and says this is not your daughter, your daughter is that whose rights you are taking and giving to her, the one you are doing an injustice against and because of which we all have to suffer.Amma starts jumping to hit Radhika, she hides on the other side of Devki screaming Ma. Amma says tie a stone around her neck and throw her in the Yamuna river,all the sins will end at once.
Shastriji comes there and says Amma, when will the atrocities end towards Radhika? whenw ill you understand? Amma says don't try to explain to me, just listen get the idols back and return whatever money you got, are you not even worried about what will happen tomorrow? If they throw us out of our caste/jaat, where will we go? Amma cries and sits and says I have spent 60 years of my life here, my entire life is in this this soil, if they throw us out, I won't be able to live. In the love for this girl, you have gone blind and have made the Panchayat angry, tomorrow they could give us such a big punishment you know? Shastriji says amma when a devotee puts his entire faith in God, he stops worrying about everythign else, whatever I did, I have taken God as witness. If it is a crime, whatever punishment God gives me, I will accept it as his offering. Amma cries and Shastriji goes towards Radhika, touches her head and then goes into his room. Amma says lalla doesn't understand, tomorrow some stranger will give a big punishment.
Part 4
Two men from the Panchayat have come to the Purohit house and says a matter has come before the Panchayat and this matter has to be decided by the Rajpurohit and that is whywe have come to meet Dev. Dadi and Vaishali seem surprised but Dadi nods her head and says here, Dev has come. Dev is in his white kurta and they greet him, he asks them to sit down. Dadi explains that these two gentlemen have come from the Vrindavan Panchayat to talk to the RP and as RP you have listen and decide on the topic at hand. Dev nods his head and says what is the matter. The Panchayat member says from a temple in Vrindavan, a brahmin stole the idols of Radha Krishna. Dadi says stole the idols, but this is a big paap/sin. Dev says but the topic of theft is a Panchayat decision, why am I involved? The Panchayat member states that actually the idols belong to that brahmin and though technically not a theft, a lot of religious sentiments have been hurt Dev Babu. Dev nods his head. The Panchayat says you being Rp have to decide on this matter, if there is no decision, every Brijvasi will do this sort of bad deed. Dev says ok what time, they say 11am, he says he will be there. The Panchayat leaves. Dadi tells Dev that it is a big responsibility to give a decision on faith based matters. Dev says yes, this is the first time I will actually be sitting in father's chair. Dadi smiles. Dev says but I am scared. Vaishali says Dev do not need to worry, you have your father's blessings and will always be there, she then hugs Dev.
Radhika was about to switch the lights off the house, the phone rings. She picks up and it is Dev. She is scared, Dev asks did you like the bangles? Radhika says you so late? Dev says I never see the time when I call you, I just call when I feel like. Why, should I not call? Radhika says no I didn't say that. Dev says tell me did you like the bangles? Radhika hesitatingly says yes. Dev says you are not still upset are you? Radhika is in tears and says no. Dev says aur mujhse dobara rootogi bhi nahi (and you won't get angry with me again?) Radhika smiles and says nahi rootoongi(no, I won't be angry). Dev says the burden is lifted off your dad's shoulders? How is he feeling now? On hearing that Radhika is upset and in tears, she holds the phone to her chest and cries. She picks up the phone and says good. Dev says I cannot wait anymore, I will tell Dadi to get us married tomorrow only, I want to bring you home soon. Radhika inadvertently says how do I leave father in this condition...then realizes she spoke up and Dev is surprised. He was on the sofa and he gets up and says which state, what happened to Babuji? Radhika says before he gives away his daughter, he makes his heart ready to live without his daughter after marraige. Dev is quiet. Radhika says even my father needs time to ready himself. Dev says you are right, look at me, I only think about myself.
Dev says what I called for I forgot to tell you. Radhika says what? Dev says tomorrow for the first time, I am going to sit on my fathers chair as RP. Radhika is happy to hear that but I am scared. It is a huge responsibility, hope I can do justice and take the right decision. Radhika says I have full faith in you, you will not take a wrong decision, you cannot give wrong punishment. Dev says your faith always gives me strength. Dev says I hope the day never comes where I have to break your trust. Radhika says nothing of the sort will happen, whatever decision you take will be the right one. Dev smiles. They show a split screen on Dev and Radhika.
