IDEA CELLULAR UNVEILS 4TH 'IDEA ROCKS INDIA' TO WOW ASPIRING INDIAN ROCK STARS
IDEA Cellular, a leading telecom operator in the country has launched the 4th edition of its hugely popular Annual Musical extravaganza – 'Idea Rocks India' – in a completely different avatar this year. The show, 'Idea Rocks India', produced by Encompass and to be telecast on Colors, has been specially crafted to discover the best musicians, instrumentalists and singers from across the country, in order to discover the best musical band, India has ever seen .'Idea Rocks India 4' will give an opportunity to all Indians aged 18 years and above, who are already a 'Band' or 'Member of a Band' or simply want to become a 'part of a Band', to participate in the first-of-its-kind music talent hunt show which will encompass all genres of music including Western, Indian and others .
Young musical sensations from across the country aspiring to become 'The Baap of all Bands' can participate in 'Idea Rocks India 4' by appearing in the auditions to be held in 10 Indian cities – Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune starting September 2, 2009 .
The star studded jury of 'Idea Rocks India 4' will comprise of leading male playback singer Shaan, and Vasundhara Das, a versatile singer and actress, besides other celebrity judges from the film, music and entertainment fraternity . The show will be anchored by Karan Singh Grover, a TV serial actor, along with a female co-anchor .
Selected candidates from the audition round will get to become part of a band, based on the musical synergies of individuals, under the aegis of the jury of 'Idea Rocks India 4' . A band can have a unique identity from anything ranging from a rock band, to a folk music band, to an all girls' band, to a band which plays only instrumental music such as percussion . These bands will then play, sing and compete to become the 'Baap of All Bands' based on the choice of the judges and the Indian public who will vote for their favorite band at the final level of the competition .

This year 'Idea Rocks India' will traverse the length and breadth of the country to discover the best musicians .

'Idea Rocks India 4' will be aired on leading general entertainment channel, Colors, over 13 episodes, every Sunday starting September 27, 2009 during prime time slot of 8 pm to 9 pm . The show will have a weekly process of voting and elimination leading to the mega challenge round with live performances by the finalists in malls and clubs, culminating into the Grand Finale to unveil the 'Baap of All Bands' .The winning band will get an opportunity to record its own music album with a reputed music production house .
