Debojeet’s Qawaali

Finally I got to chance to hear this Qawaali.
Again ID picked up some thing which was next to impossible.It is not possible for a single person to sing what was given to Debo. It is a very difficult qawaali itself: where Mannadey stops, Asha's taan starts, where she stops, the other male singer takes over.
Why ID selected this beats me..........
IMHO Debo was brilliant, his taans were flawless most of the times. And he had to budle into all these singers in one.
Yes he missed sur a couple of times & his voice cracked once, but to attempt this song live REALLY needs guts.
Perhaps ID is the person who has the wisdom of improvising songs.
I can't understand why ID didnt give chumma to Debo on this perf.
He deserved11/10.

Hema sang a song which was way too simple, ofcourse he was flawless, at best his song was a fake qawaali. Thanks to AS......😡 for slowly killing him.

AGREE with U .Hemachandra shld have taken more difficult kawaali..

Debo tried his best but cant say he was flawless and its also not fair to expect him to be flawless in that difficult song...

Although he was not perfect he was really good..

I agree, the song was too hard. it was harder then Himani's Jiya Dhak Dhak. if she was told that she had guts to choose a song like that, then Debo has double guts to choose a qawwali like that.

HR & AS, should have given him 11/10 for his guts!

agree with n sinha, the qwwali sung by debo was meant for a group of 4 singers mhd. Rafi, Manna Dey, Asha Bhosle & Sudha Malhotra. its humanly impossible for one singer to attempt let alone sing this and debo did an excellent job. i think ID shud have at least asked him to sing it as a single singer song.

I think that when someone chooses a difficult song, they should try to do it
justice and not hude behind the difficulty of the song. While debo was nto
perfect, i feel that he did do justice to that song. I think that ID wanted to
show off Debo's classical skills to make a point that his singers were the
best tehnical singers -- regardless of the public vote. I think that he
expected Debo to lose.

why in the world would he try it again?

hard song or easy song.....debo didn't deliver the goods. he should have been out based on his perfomance. He was very flat in his qawali round. it is shame that ppl actually think he did a good performance. If it wasn't for his teary wife and ID walk out then he would have been out
