What's you stance on this?

I've seen people who become petty over an irrelevant issue, and those are the ones who deserve an e.slap. But seriously, why do people get serious and personal? why use foul language?

I totally agree with you. I have observed this on IF and other forums.

But I should think that the worst case of arguing over the internet is on youtube, where people fight like street dogs over anything.

Here's my analysis:
1.Deep down inside,all people have something rude to say. People cannot say anything they want to in real life, but the virtual world gives them freedom to do so.
2.People also have the irritating tendency to move away from the main focus of a topic and make side comments. And there are another gang of fools who decide to continue on the side comments.

The combo of 1 and 2 make a dhamakedaar war on the forums.

Example:

I was listening to some song on youtube and then theres this guy who makes a comment on muslims betraying their kin by singing hindu songs like those baiju bawra songs. This further leads to comments being made on india pakistan, the taliban and what not.And since they have so much freedom on the net as in point (1) they fight like rowdies and a net war is set off.

That's my observation.

I try my best to avoid using foul languages, but that does not mean I would crawl under a stone even after people have repeatedly attacked me with hurtful comments. One needs to pay for what one does. If someone badmouths me or another fellow individual (for no valid reasons), then he would have to pay for his actions. Usually, I ask for a logical reason as to why the member is bashing another individual. If the member is incapable of giving a proper excuse for his unjustifiable behavior, or makes up pretty lame excuses to cover his guilt, I would refute his point, and show what a big hypocrite he is in every way.

That I would make him pay for his deeds does not mean I would stoop at his level, though. My first is to find out a logical reasoning behind his obnoxious comments; if there is, (and I disagree with him), I would argue, but wouldn't attack back. If there isn't [any logical reasons], then I wouldn't wait another second to point out his hypocrisies. Lastly, if he crosses his limit, I would hit the report button.

I do not mind disagreements. However, using foul languages without a valid reason is plain wrong.

Well, like they say, defense is the best offense. If you shout back and curse him, you will cheapen yourself in front of everyone, I learned this a long time back :). The person who cursed you will get a kick out of making you go out of control. Sometimes it is just better to ignore these people, especially when they are foolish beyond words. Personally I usually pass sarcastic comments or defend myself.
