July summary CB

Radhika asks devki to explain to Sastri ji the real reason why she cannot marry again. Devki tells her husband to just drop the idea. But he is adamant and decides to go on an indefinite fast. Radhika rings the bell at the temple to cry why she cannot be left alone. Sastri changes his mind and tells her that he will support her decision of being Kanha's bride.

Meanwhile, Vishaka is in the clutches of Mrinalini who tempts her with Bollywood contacts and money and gets her to abort her "Project Waris"- to get Dev's child and instead focus on her career. Vishaka slacks up on Choti Bahu duty at home and that upsets Vaishali and Dadi.

Meanwhile Haryali Amavasya comes by where all wives light lamps and leave it in the river. Vishaka's gets extinguished and Radhika's is fine, when she does it (in secrecy) and is caught red handed and pulled up in front of the panchayat.

Dev is busy at work and worrying about Radhika. Mrinalini comments about Radhika leaving and Dev demands the truth from Birju. Birju divulges all and Dev leaves for Vrindavan.
He chances upon Radhika trying to do the circumambulation of Govardhan hill and she almost faints in his arms. He helps her finish her vow and learns about the Sastris in front of the Panchayat. He tells them that Radhika was NOT thrown out of his house, rather missed Vrindavan and came back. All charges are dropped and they return home. Devki is forced, on Sastri ji's insistance, to tell the truth about Radhika's departure from Prohit House and Vishaka's connection with Purab is revealed to Dev.

Dadi sends Vishaka after Dev to Vrindavan and she enters the house just in time to get a slap from Sastri ji for implicating Radika. Vishaka is upset and feels ill treated by all. Mrinalini refuses to answer her calls. Dev leaves Vishaka with her parents and proceeds to his home.

He tells Birju that he is done with the marriage and he is going to divorce Vishaka. Radhika learns of this and pleads with him not to do it as it will be social suicide for her parents. Birju says the same. Dev listens to all this counsel but resolves to leave Vishaka.

That night, Amma shrieks at Radhika and tells her to get lost. Radhika leaves the house and walks away into the unknown with her Kanha statue. She gets caught in the rain and is found by a group of ashramites and a Guru.

Dev comes to the Sastris house the next morning to learn of Radhika leaving. He rushes about to find her but returns without her. He finds a note from her in his car that tells him that she has left so that his life with Vishaka can begin in earnest.

Devki makes Vishaka do housework and she hates every minute of it. She also runs away leaving behind a note, to Mumbai . Discovering it, Sastri has a heart attack. Dev's family wants to talk to her but he and Vivek (who joins Dev in Vrindvan) keep excusing her presence without telling them that she has fled.

At the Ashram, Radhika awakens to imagine Dev telling her to come home. But white haired Guruji comes in to tell her where she is. She decides to stay back and becomes a "sevika" (acolyte). Keshav comes to the ashram for mutt work and meets Radhika and tells her about her father's heart attack. She is upset and runs to Guruji to go back home. But Guruji says that she cannot return if she left. So she stays back but prays for is health.

Dev takes care of Sastri and after he is better, comes to the ashram himself and sees Radhika. He is thrilled but she refuses to return with him. She tells him to go to his wife and learns of Vishaka's running away to Mumbai and is upset.
He tells her that she cannot refuse her father and he gives the good tidings to Sastri . Sastri jumps out of bed to get Radhika. But she refuses to come back with him. Dev tells Radhika that he will not pressure her to return anymore, but will await Kanha himself to make her come back.

Meanwhile, all of the Prohit family go to Mumbai for a wedding and happen to see Vishaka there. But they cannot believe it is her owing to her modern clothes. Mrinalini knows and calls and decides to meet with her. The rest of the family sans Mrini leave for Vrindavan. Dadi calls Dev and tells him that they will reach Vrindavan in 6 hours to see their Choti Bahu. Just then Dev who had a short interlude with Radhika tells her about Dadi coming there. Radhika tells him to go find Vishaka. He drops everything and leaves.

Dadi and co., land up at Vrindavan surprising Birju and Vivek. They go to Sastri's to learn about Vishaka missing to become an actress. Everyone is SHOCKED!

August Summary

Shastri ji declares Vishaka dead and performs her "tarpan", death ceremony to the shock of Devki and Amma. The Prohits are equally stunned. The villagers gossip that she ran away owing to poor parenting by the Shastris. This causes Shastri ji to decide to take "Jal Samadhi"- death by drowning.

Amma is shaken and she runs to the ashram to beg Radhika to come and save her dad. Kanha appears before Rads and tells her that she has to return to the world as the ashram was not His choice for her. She quits the ashram and runs to stop her father from ending his life and Dev sees her en route and helps her get there in time.

She tells her dad that his obligations on earth are incomplete, as she has returned home. He rejoices seeing her and returns home with her. Devki is grateful beyond measure and welcomes Rads home. Dev is happy to see her home and tells her that her Kanha did get her out of the ashram.

Meantime, Mrinalini returns from Mumbai and tells chacha and co that Vishaka will never return. Dev on his return reiterate the same to the rest of the family. Dadi wonders if that was the reason behind Dev's misery after the marriage. Vivek keeps mum.

Dev helps mainstream Rads by supplicating the villagers to give up their old ideas of "caste" after he does arti as Raj prohit in Shastri's temple. He tells Rads that Vishaka returned her mangal sutra to him and Rads is shocked. She tries to convince herself and him that Vish would return. He tells her it is over between Vish and him.

Shastri ji suggests that Rads help out with the mutt work in the ashram. She returns the next day to also collect her stuff as she had left in a hurry. She apologizes to Guruji but he blesses her saying that this is not the age to retire to an ashram. Rads helps decorate the Radha Krishna idols waiting for consecration. Dev sits down to do the consecration and Guruji asks where his wife is as the puja can only be done by a couple. Chacha tells him to get up and gets Arjun to finish the Puja.

Dadi, Vaishali, Shastri and Devki are all upset that Dev could not do the consecration owing to his runaway wife. Shastri gets thinking. Devki puts the idea of getting Rads married to Dev. Shastri extends it to the Prohits. Dadi and Vaishali are thrilled. Dadi tries to find out if Dev likes the idea and learns that Dev has great respect for Rads. Shastri ji tells her that since it was his idea, he would approach Dev directly with the offer. They decide to keep it a secret until Janmashtami- the day of Mutt inauguration.

On Janmashtami, Shastri puts forth the proposal in front of Dev and Dev is overjoyed and grateful to Kanha. He tells Shastri ji that he will personally ask Rads. While the elders are happy, Dev tries to catch Rads in private to propose to her. She keeps busy and evades him. Mrinalini comes to hear of this plan and updates Chacha and they start to figure out a way of not making it happen.

Finally, amma, coming to know of this plan, demands that Rads leave the celebrations immediately. Rads leaves sadly and Dev grabs her hand and takes her in and does the "jhoola" with her to the joy of his dadi, mom and Rads' parents. The villains are upset. In front of Kanha's statue, Dev proposes to Rads and she is in disbelief. She thinks she hallucinated and she runs away from there and cries to Kanha that she was hallucinating. Dev sets her right and asks her to marry him again.

She asks him how he could even think such a thing with Vish being his wife. He says that the situation is not so. She does not let him speak and runs away home. Dev follows her there.

The Prohits and Shastris meet at Shastris' and are discussing the wedding. Chacha is mad and demands that such foolishness be stopped. Rads overhears this and is shocked to know that it was her dad's idea. Dev, who is right behind Rads nods, that that was the reason why he proposed.
Rads refuses to answer him as she does not want to take away her sister's rights. Dev gives her time to think it over and leaves. He also requests Shastri ji not to force Rads.

Rads keeps deliberating and finally decides to speak to Dev. She calls him in the middle of the night to come meet her at the Ghat and he thinks she agreed to the wedding and gives her a hug. She pushes him away saying that she wants him to take her to Mumbai to meet Vish for one last time, to set her doubts to rest. He agrees on one condition that she will promise to marry him if Vish refuses to return. She agrees.

They leave for Mumbai the next day and have a romantic interlude on a truck as their car breaks down. They reach Mumbai late at night and check into a hotel as man and wife. Rads is shocked but Dev puts her in the straight. They meet Vish the next day and she is rude to both of them. Rads is shocked and when Vish is about to divulge that she was never married to Dev, Rads slaps her into silence. Dev gets her to sign the divorce papers and she is only too glad to oblige.

They return to Vrindavan and Dev tells Rads that he is awaiting her reply. That evening he decorates the entire waterfront with flowers and Rads is bowled over. He proposes again and finally she says YES! Everyone is overjoyed and begins preparing for the engagement.

On the day of, Chacha invites the Panchayat along with a copy of Raj Prohit rules and declares the engagement invalid as the first wife is still alive. Dev is stunned and Rads is shattered. Shastri is given a copy to read and Rads meets Dev by the riverfront and he tells her that she will be his wife as it is the will of Kanha.

Shastri goes through the book and finds a cop-out clause.

September Summary

Dev undergoes a "kshama vrat", a sequence of actions to beg forgiveness from the 5 elements, which is very tough. With the support of Radhika, he does and that is the last impediment to their engagement. The engagement is celebrated with the happy couple and families. Dev gifts the pair of payal (anklets) that he had picked up when he had first seen Radhika and she is touched.

Dadi requests Shastri ji that the wedding be held in Delhi and in a grand manner. He goes to Delhi to give Shagun and the "prashna kundali" (inferred horoscope) of Rads'. Amma fills Vaishali's mind with doubts about Radev progeny and their chance to be RP. Vaishali is upset and tells Dadi and that Dev loves someone else. Dadi is shocked and tells Dev to stop the marriage. He tells her he would go mad if they stopped the marriage and Rads IS his DreamGirl. Dadi is thrilled.
Dev calls Rads and teases her and drives up to Vrindavan and surprises her.

Meanwhile Dadi, under Chacha's insistance asks Sashtri to offer a golden necklace (Chandra Haar) for their family deity. It is too expensive for him to afford and he is in a fix. Shastri is unable to mortgage his house as it is in Amma's name and she refuses to support the marriage.

Shastri is worried about money when a stranger approaches him and offers him money in return for his "good deeds". Shastri ji is shocked but agrees to it along with the installation of his temple deities at the stranger's house.

Rads sees her father's problem and asks Dev to come. She requests him to have a simple wedding and he disagrees. She cries and leaves. He tries to make up by buying her bangles. But she sadly leaves him without explaining as the villagers are gossiping about her father.

Dev returns home upset, and asks his Dadi why Rads was upset. Dadi explains the economic reality of Sastri and how Rads could not possibly tell Dev everything. He returns to VB with the bangles and requests that the wedding be a simple one. Sashtri says he will do his best.

People are upset about the loss of the idols and accuse Shastri ji of thievery. He denies and defends himself at the Panchayat. A religious court is instituted and Dev presides over it. He gives fair ruling that if Shasti does not return the idols within 24 hrs, he will have to leave Vrindavan. Shastri begins to pack when Radhika with the help of Dev, gets the idols back.

Amma dumps work on Rad. Dev calls and asks if she is wearing the bangles . She jingles them on the phone. He comes to VB to see them. Amma makes her remove them and takes them away. She reaches the ghat without them and Dev is disappointed. She promises him that next time she will wear them.

Shastris reach Delhi for Lagna patrika ceremony and Dev finds his mother reluctant to perform it as the priest says that Dev's horoscope indicates that Dev can marry only once. Dadi tells Vaishali that she will do all the rituals if Vaishali refuses. Reluctantly Vaishali complies. Dev tells her that come what may, he WILL marry Rads.

Nandu visits Rads and asks her why she is marrying Jijaji again. She says for the sake of society. After the ceremony Dev calls Rads and tells her he will see her the next day for another ceremony. He tells her not to forget the bangles. Rads worries about getting them from Amma.

Dev arrives and helps pick jewelry for Rads. He asks her about the bangles and Amma comes in and says she will ready Rads. Dev leaves. Amma tells Rads to pick the bangles from the fire. She does and burns herself. Dev sees her bangles and then discovers her burns and is upset and mad.
There are more romantic scenes with Radhika basking in Dev's love and reciprocating it and opening up to him.

Amma comes to know about Vishaka being in town and goes to visit her. Vishaka meets her but refuses to acknowledge her as family. Amma is shocked and tells Vish about Dev's marriage to Rads and Vish is fine with it and says after all Rads is already married to him! Amma is shocked at Vish's rejection.

Dev promises to come and see her everyday until the wedding. His mom tells him to focus on office work and forbids him from meeting Rads until the wedding. Dev is heartbroken. He calls Rads the next day and tells her that he cannot come. Dev's dadi sees the sadness in him and calls Rads and makes her come to Delhi for a dandia event.

October Summary

Rads comes to the dandia event in Delhi. Dev sees her and think she is an illusion. She hides and teases him and he finds her and is thrilled. He kisses her hand under the stars.
Vaishali is displeased with Dev for meeting with Rads. She removes her interdiction and Dev plans to meet Rads.

Vaishali calls Rads to meet with her. She tells her to give up Dev. Rads, in a shocked state walks back home and is sen by Shastri ji. He is shaken by his daughter's shocked state and tells Vaishali off and calls off the wedding. Dev, awaiting Rads, reaches Vb house and sees Vaishali and gives her his ultimatum- lose your son or proceed with the marriage. She succumbs and comes to Rads with Karva chauth (fast to pray for husband's longevity) stuff. Rads gives Dev, her first gift- a handkerchief, embroidered by her.

Dadi and all come to Vb for karva chaut and gives rads the traditional kangan (bracelet). Dev keeps fast too, for Rads.
Pre wedding ceremonies begin.

Vishaka returns home.

Shastri refuses her entry. Rads pleads, and gets her way. All women are happy. Vaishali, Mrinalini and Amma plot on getting Vishaka back as CB. They try to sabotage each ritual with Rads but remain unsuccessful.

Dev comes to meet Rads and kisses her on her forehead. Rads is counting down the time to the wedding like Dev. She sends Vishaka with a Kanha idol to Dev. Vaishali and Amma are thrilled to have Vishaka home. Dev is mad.
