What Do you think? Which system is better: Public Voting or Judges? In the earlier editions of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, GS used to bring skilled Judges and the competition was tougher. There was no yellow card, you get another chance and we got singers like Shreya Ghosal and Kunal Ganjawala. I remember the final episode of the last challenge, the contestants were given very hard, old songs with different tunes. The Judge sang it first and they had to follow him immediately. Every one of them made mistakes in the taal and the lyrics.....it was that hard, but now it's all about voting. Public may try to vote for the best, but they don't have the trained ear (Result: Sharib being eliminated when Debu still ruling) Also, people get carried away by participants with good appearance, performance etc. Singing quality come next. I don't wanna judge Fame Gurukul, but I don't want Sa Re Ga Ma to produce singers like Kazi. If GSji doesn't want to spoil the show, there's still time. He should start a 75% points by judges and 25% points based on public voting.

After Nihira's elimination, I really cannot say anything. And they should continue now with the public voting system as it wont be fair enough to those participants who are voted out of the competition. Especially on Nihira's part it wont be fair. IF he had to keep the Jury system, then Gajji should have kept the judges before the agnipariksha round. I am sure singers like Swananda Nihira and twinkle would have been on the top today and Sharib would have been competiting with Hema and Deboo.

I also think it should be a combination of both. And precisely it should be a ranking system with 60% judge and 40% public voting. A ranking system would reward each contestant a point based on his rank, so no single judge can change the result by giving someone too much score and vice versa. The less rank rewarded towards a contestant means the better for him.

Let me know if you have any question. We had practised it in our college debating competition, and it worked well.
