Hello everyone! 😃 *waves* Nope, this isn't my 100th shot yet! 😳 This is technically my 101st one, anyways it's a surprise for someone who is very close to me, and so I really hope she likes it, and if she doesn't she knows what she's supposed to do!😆😆😆
Enjoy! 😃
Shifali needed a taxi. It was on this day that she had met Prem exactly 2 years ago and now she was dying to see him. She knew he must've planned something special for this anniversary of theirs. On top of that it was also her birthday tomorrow and so she knew that her ever romantic Prem would definitely have something amazing planned.
"TAXI!" She screamed as she saw a yellow cab go by.
The car suddenly stopped and she ran for it. "Will you go to Richmond?"
The driver nodded and so Shifali quickly stepped into the cab. As the cab swiftly moved through the traffic Shifali took out her cell phone and texted Prem.
Your place or mine?
Are we meeting for something special today?
Shifali groaned to herself. Was he really going to pretend not to remember? He tried that on her last year and she had seen through it completely. Nope, nothing special.
Your place then :)
Prem grinned as he sent the last message before entering the house. Shifali had given him a spare key that he was now putting to good use.
He carefully balanced the roses he was holding as he pushed open the door. Entering the kitchen he searched for her glass vase and quickly trimmed the roses before arranging them in the vase. He left it on her bar counter and rubbed his hands together. "What should I do next?" He muttered as he looked around the room.

She hated traffic. It was official. She had never seen so much traffic in her life and out of all days; it had to be today. She took out her cell phone hoping there was a message from her favourite person but there was nothing there for her. She sighed before shoving her phone back in her purse and taking out her Ipod. She needed music to cheer her up.
Zara Zara Bahekta Hai, Mahekta Hai
Aaj To Mera Tan Badan, Main Pyaasi Hoon
Mujhe Bhar Le Apni Baahon Mein
Perfect song for her situation. She wanted to be wrapped in his protective arms. Being in his arms was the best sense of euphoria she had ever felt. She had always known since the first time they had hugged that they were made for each other; the way their bodies moulded together. There was no other feeling like it for her.
Finally nearly 20 minutes later the taxi pulled up outside her house. She smiled as she saw the lights on in the windows and knew that he was there, waiting for her. She quickly handed the money to the driver and hurried up the steps to the door.
She couldn't believe how eager she was to see him. His gorgeous eyes that made her feel beautiful, the way his long fingers would trail from her temple down to her collarbone, the way one smile from him could send her heart fluttering.
Her fingers trembled as she raised them to the doorbell.
Hai Meri Kasam Tujhko Sanam,
Door Kahin Na Jaa
Before she pressed the button the door opened and her breath caught. There he was, standing in front of her, looking more handsome than ever.
"Hey," He smiled before wrapping an arm around her. "I missed you."
"Me too," she whispered, leaning into a hug.
He grinned at her as they parted. "How was your day?"
How was my day? Does this mean he actually didn't remember? Shifali kept staring at him as she walked through the lobby. "I—it was fine. How about you?"
"Fine as well." Prem smiled. "I cooked dinner."
"You did?" Shifali grinned. Maybe he did remember after all. "Any special occasion?"
Prem shrugged before answering. "I just figured you must be tired after such a long day that I could do something for you."
"Oh." Shifali looked down at her shoes while Prem smiled knowingly to himself.
"You seem disappointed?"
She quickly looked up and shook her head. "Not at all. I'm fine."
"Great. Go change and sit in the family room. I'll have dinner ready for when you get down." Prem smiled as he nearly pushed her up the stairs.
Yeh Doori Kehti Hai
Paas Mere Aaja Re
What was wrong with him today? Shifali shook her head as she went up the stairs. She had been hoping to be showered with flowers as she walked in and have the whole house in candles, and maybe even light romantic music playing. But there was nothing here. Not even a single flower. She mentally cursed herself for having so many high expectations from him. He was after all a guy.
No, he was Prem. Prem had always been different than the other guys and so she'd just forget it. He was allowed to forget one milestone. She smiled as she fluffed out her hair and put on some comfy sweats.
"Oh...it all smells really good," Shifali announced as she walked down the stairs.
"Glad you think so," He winked as he led her by the arm into the family room where two plates were waiting on the coffee table. "Your dinner awaits."
Shifali walked to the coffee table when lightning struck and she leapt to Prem who smiled as he put his arms around her. "It's okay. It's just a thunderstorm."
Shifali smiled as she let go of him slowly, until her eyes fell on the open balcony. "You left it open?"
"The sun was really bright before and now it's raining. Let me close it." Prem advanced towards the screen door when Shifali blocked him. "Wait."
Yunhi Baras Baras Kaali Ghata Barse
Hum Yaar Bheeg Jaaye Is Chaahat Ki Baarish Mein
She stepped out in the cold rain letting it hit her face and she twirled around. So what if Prem forget their anniversary, the weather certainly hadn't changed since that first time they met. The rain still made her feel alive and she loved that.
"Shifz, you'll catch a cold." Prem chided her from inside.
Shifali shook her head silently at him as she held out her hands embracing the wetness from above.
Seeing her so carefree brought a smile to his face and he stepped out into the rain with her. His warm hands made contact with her waist through her soaked t-shirt as he slowly turned her around to face him.
"You look beautiful," He whispered through the rain.
She kept her eyes low cast and had her hands on his chest, resisting the urge to brush away the rain drops from his lips.
He took one of his hands away from her waist and as he brought it close to her face he felt her shivering in his arms. He leaned down closer to her and looked deep into her eyes before taking away one wet strand that was stuck to her face away and tucking it behind her ears before returning his hand to cup her cheek.
Meri Khuli Khuli Laton Ko Suljhaaye
Tu Apni Ungliyon Se
Main To Hoon Isi Khwaahish Mein
"We...we should go inside," Shifali whispers to him trying to distance herself, afraid of what her feelings would do if they over took her control.
He smiled and led her inside. "Go dry yourself before we eat."
Shifali silently nodded before disappearing in the bathroom. After a few moments she comes out with a towel in hand and is about to hand it to Prem when he caught her hand and pulled her closer to him.
She smiled before reaching up to dry his wet hair and then she slowly patted his face dry.
"Thank you," He said in a soft tone.
Shifali followed him to the family room and sat down on the couch as the two of them silently ate the food that Prem had cooked; the tension from outside with the rain was still electrifying between them and that sensation caused a stir of emotions in Shifali.
Prem got up and took away the plates before Shifali could even stand and she watched him in amazement. He had forgotten everything today but he was still being so chivalrous that it caused her to beam with pride. She truly was blessed to have a man like him in her life.
When he returned with their favourite fleecy blanket she grinned. He winked at her before sitting down right next to her; throwing the blanket around to cover them. Shifali gasped as she felt his arms circle around her waist while she leaned her back into his chest as they watched one of their favorite movies.
Sardi Ki Raaton Mein
Hum Soye Rahe Ek Chaadar Mein
She leaned back to say something to him when she realized the proximity between them.
There were merely two inches and she could tell by the glint in Prem's eyes that he realized it too.
Without warning he bent down and let his lips capture hers in a kiss too powerful to explain. Shifali felt herself being lifted into the air as she turned her body to mesh better with his. She slowly snaked her arms around his neck and felt his one hand move its way up into her hair, letting the curls flow into his hands.
Hum Dono Tanha Ho,
Na Koi Bhi Rahe Is Ghar Mein
As they parted Prem leaned his forehead against her's before smiling. "I love you,"
"I love you too," she whispered back, feeling breathless.
Zara Zara Bahekta Hai, Mahekta Hai
Aaj To Mera Tan Badan, Main Pyaasi Hoon
Mujhe Bhar Le Apni Baahon Mein
Nearly an hour later Prem shifted nervously and this didn't go unnoticed by Shifali who turned around and frowned. "What's wrong?"
"Hmm? Wrong? Nothing." He smiled in an attempt to distract her but as she narrowed her eyes at him he knew it didn't work. "I was just wondering about the time since I have work tomorrow," he lied.
Main Bhooli Nahin Haseen Mulaaqaatein
Bechain Karke Mujhko Mujhse Yun Na Pher Nazar
"Its Sunday tomorrow Prem, you never work on Sunday's." Shifali looked at him with a confused look. "Besides its only 11:30pm. You'll still stay for a bit right?"
He took one look at her adoring eyes and grinned. "Wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
"Good." She pulled his arm tighter around her as she snuggled herself closer to his body, never wanting to let go.
Aaja Re Aa Re
Right when Prem saw that it was 11:55pm he paused the movie.
"Kya hua?" she turned around and asked.
"Did I show you the flowers yet?"
"What?"
"The flowers." Prem repeated. "I got you flowers today."
He was getting stranger by the moment, she thought to herself as he pulled her to stand. Yet she still loved him everything about him.
Zara Zara Bahekta Hai, Mahekta Hai
Aaj To Mera Tan Badan, Main Pyaasi Hoon
"Come see," he smiled as he led her to the kitchen.
Shifali shook her head as she walked into her mess of a kitchen. "You are so cleaning this up tomorrow,"
"Yes jaan," He smirked as he leaned against the wall.
"Where are the flowers?" She asked, frowning.
Prem slightly nodded towards the bar table and smiled as she glared at him.
The vase was there on the table with 11 roses perfectly trimmed but a single one was taller than the rest.
"If you were going trim them and put them in a vase, you could've trimmed them all Prem." She scolded him before quickly taking out a knife from the utensil drawer and walking towards the flowers. She slowly picked up the red rose by its bud, avoiding the thorns and raised it out of the water.
Her mouth dropped open as she saw something attached to that rose. "What..." she looked at him slowly and back down to the rose which was tied to a diamond ring.
"I wanted something perfect," He said softly as he stepped closer to her.
"Prem—I," Shifali shook her head and smiled, not wanting to be overcome by emotions.
He took the rose from her hand and untied the ring from the rose and kneeled down in front of her. "Shifali Sharma, we met two years ago and ever since that day you have made me the happiest man ever. I don't even want to think of a life beyond you and I want to hold you in my arms at every waking moment and just be with you the rest of my life. Will you do me the honor of agreeing to marry me?"
He held out the ring in his long fingers and looked up at her face waiting for an answer.
Mujhe Bhar Le Apni Baahon Mein
Hai Meri Kasam Tujhko Sanam, Door Kahin Na Jaa
Without saying anything, Shifali kneeled down and cradled Prem's face in her hands. "Yes," she whispered. "Yes. I'd love to marry you,"
His face lit up and he slipped the ring onto her ring finger before picking her up in his arms and twirling her around.
Yeh Doori Kehti Hai Paas Mere Aaja Re
"You have no idea how happy you've made me." Shifali whispered as he slowly lowered her, still keeping his arms on her back.
"Happy Birthday," He grinned as he nodded towards the clock in the kitchen.
Shifali glanced at it and saw that it was exactly midnight. "You planned this all didn't you?"
Prem nodded and kissed her softly on the cheeks. "Almost all; the rain happened naturally."
"The perfect touch," she whispered as she rested her head on his chest.
"I love you,"
"I love you too Prem," Shifali smiled as she hugged Prem.
He hadn't forgotten, just like she had always known. Sure he had thrown her off in the middle but deep down she knew. Her Prem would never forget anything special for her and today he had made both occasions memorable.
Aaja Re, Aaja Re, Aaja Re
