Here's another surprise shot! 😳 Anyways thanks to Radz and Madz who TOTALLY helped me! 😃 Enjoy! 😛
"Remind me again why we have to go so early for her wedding?" Bhavna asked stifling a yawn.
"Because Shifali's our friend," Aradhna whispered back.
"But it's 6:45 in the morning," Bhav whimpered. "And why are you whispering?"
"Because Nate's asleep in the front seat," Radz rolled her eyes as she glared at the man sitting in the front seat next to her boyfriend Mayank.
They were driving to Arjun's (Shifali's fiance) farmhouse where all the wedding festivities were taking place. Bhav had only two pet peeves with this whole situation; one was waking up so early and the other had to be traveling with Nate, who just happened to be Arjun's childhood friend. She and Nate had gotten off on the wrong foot when Nate had assumed she was Shifali and had started teasing her and that had irked her right from the start. Things hadn't changed much though; he still spent every waking moment annoying her. One more thing that bothered her was that she found herself enjoying every moment of it even though she fought hard not to.
The car jerked forward and Bhav and Radz both went smack into the front seats
"What in the world are you doing Mayank?" Radz shrieked.
"You girls—" He turns around in his seat. "Should be wearing seat belts."
"Well we didn't assume you'd be such a bad driver did we Mayank?" Radz glared back.
"That's Bhav right?" Nate laughed as he high-fived Mayank.
Bhav rolled her eyes and glared at Nate through his side view mirror before returning her attention her best friend. "You see why I hate this car ride?"
"We heard that," Mayank said loudly. "Besides, I didn't stop the car on my own whim; it stalled."
"Right," Bhav shook her head and crossed her arms.
"Do you really think I'm lying?"" Mayank challenged. "Drive it yourself,"
He stepped out of the car and smiled as he opened the door for Bhav who frowned as she walked out of the car and into the driver's seat. She said a silent prayer as she turned the key in the ignition and heard the car wheezing as it struggled to turn on.
"You're not a magician Bhav, let it go," Nate leaned closer to Bhav, taking advantage of the fact that Mayank was whispering sweet nothings to Radz in the backseat.
Bhav fumed silently; fully conscious of Nate's smirk at her distress. "Well then what? Are we going to sit here all morning?"
"Of course not," Mayank replied from the back. "We should walk somewhere for help."
"Or we could just call someone?" Bhav suggested.
"Does your magic phone have a signal?" Nate asked. "Because ours don't." Bhav narrowed her eyes at him as she reached into her purse and pulled out a completely dead phone and winced. "Doesn't look like it," He whispered, his breath caressing her cheek.
Her own breath caught as she felt his overwhelming presence, shivering in pleasure. She turned to face him and saw his blue eyes clearly and was surprised at how rich the color seemed. His hair was even more tousled than usual and Bhav resisted the urge to brush it away.
"So are we going to leave now or what?" Radz interrupted Bhav's short lived fantasy.
"I—hmm yeah let's go," Bhav said quickly as she stepped out of the car and leaned back on the closed door. What was happening to her? She didn't like Nate. He was rude, and annoying, and obnoxious and he had all the qualities OPPOSITE of the guy she'd fall in love with; then why was her heart turning somersaults every time he came near her?
She grabbed her duffel bag from the trunk without going near Nate and was surprised when a hand reached in and pulled her bag out without letting her grab it.
"What are you doing Nate?"
"I'm taking your bag for you." He answered in a matter of fact tone. "See, like Mayank is taking Radz' stuff."
"That's different," Bhav argued. "Mayank and Radz are—well they're together."
"And right now so are we, so stop complaining and let's go," Nate glared at her as he stomped away from her.
What was going on? He'd be nice for a few seconds and then changed rapidly. It really was split personality or something. Bhav trudged after the other three as they walked along the highway. The heat was becoming unbearable as it scorched down on them for 2 hours straight. Bhav had put on her sunglasses, and now completely exhausted she peered through them.
"Is—is that a house or something?" She pointed in the distance.
The other three squinted and smiled. "It's a house of some sort," Radz grinned. "Let's go." She started walking faster and the other three kept pace with her.
When they approached the house the boys walked around a few times to make sure it was secure.
"It looks familiar." Nate said in a confused tone.
"Do you think it could be the farmhouse?" Mayank asked.
"No," Nate shook his head. "The farmhouse would be a lot bigger and more festive right?"
"You're right," Radz agreed. "Oh who cares? As long as we get a place to stay and hopefully there's a phone here that we could call Arjun or Shifali with. They must be worried."
"You really think they have time apart from each other to worry about anyone else?" Mayank grins.
"Fine," Radz smiled as they both approached the door of the house. "Wow! Bhav, Nate, come look!"
Bhav and Nate both looked at each other before rushing to the door. "What's up?"
"See how disgusting the house looks from outside? Look at it inside!" Radz smiled as she stepped into the house.
Bhav wearily stepped in and her eyes went wide as she saw ceramic tiles on the flooring and immaculate furniture on the left side. As she walked in further she saw the bright open kitchen on the right side. She went closer to that and saw that there were oak cabinets lining the walls and a bright window right on top of the sink. This was nearly the house that she had dreamt of many times for herself. She grinned at the memory as she proceeded towards the rooms at the end of hall.
"I think they're bedrooms," Nate told her as she turned frantically.
"Don't scare people like that!" She scolded.
"I scared you?" A smirk came onto his face causing her to smile and shake her head.
"Just don't sneak up on me," She put her hand on the knob of the door and turned it slightly. "Wow!" She walked into the room and smile. It was painted in a sandy color and had the nicest bed and desk and literally looked like a room out of a hotel. "This place really is amazing."
"Looks can be deceiving," Nate added as he appreciated the room with her.
Mayank and Radz appeared at the door. "Along with these two rooms down here, there are two more upstairs."
"Cool," Bhav answered wearily. "Why are you telling us?"
Radz sighed. "Most likely, we're going to have to stay the night here."
"Why?" Nate asked.
"The phone's dead." Mayank told them. "We'll stay the night and then tomorrow morning Nate and I will head out early trying to look for some people or something."
"Is it that late already?" Bhav glanced down at her watch. "It's 7!? How?"
Radz grinned. "We've spent a lot of time arguing in the car while you were trying to make it work Bhav."
"Right," Bhav smiled and looked down at her toes.
"So you two will take the rooms upstairs and we'll stay down here?" Nate suggested causing Bhav to look at him with widened eyes. He saw her reaction and changed his suggestion. "Or maybe not?"
Radz and Bhav locked eyes and Bhav could tell Radz desperately wanted to be alone with Mayank for awhile and so she sighed. "That's fine with me,"
Radz smiled widely. "Okay then, we'll talk tomorrow?"
"What?" Bhav blurted out. "Why don't we hang out for a bit? Don't tell me you guys aren't hungry?"
"Well—yeah..." Mayank smiled at Radz' reluctant tone and shook his head.
"Yeah, let's go see what we can find." He led Radz away from the door and into the kitchen, leaving Nate and Bhav standing awkwardly in the room.
"I'll uh, take the room across the hall?"
"That would be fine," Bhav said casually as she pulled her duffle bag from Nate and dropped it on the desk before waltzing out of the room leaving him confused in her change of decisions.

"I'm so glad they had some food stocked in their pantry," Mayank exclaimed as he leaned back from the table. "And thank god we had you girls along,"
Bhav and Radz glanced at each other and smiled. They had quickly whipped something up with whatever they could find and surprisingly it had turned out quite well.
"Okay well I'm going to sleep," Nate announced as he stood up from the table when Bhav grabbed his hand.
"Oh no you don't."
"What?" He asked.
"Radz and I have decided that since we both cooked—you boys can clean." Bhav smiled sweetly. "Enjoy!"
She and Radz giggled as they rushed out of the kitchen and waited round the corner to see the reaction from both the guys.
"Do you see the mess they made?" Nate groaned as they took the plates into the kitchen.
"Stop complaining Nate," Mayank rolls his eyes. "The faster we finish—the better it'll be."
Both the guys got to work and Bhav and Radz watch them from the corner smiling at how they constantly bumped into each other and dropped everything.
"They've made more of a mess than we did," Bhav muttered as she turned back around. "Anyways I'm really tired, I'm gonna sleep okay?"
Radz nodded. "I'm going up too. Good night!" they both hugged before heading off in opposite directions.

Bhav woke up hearing a scratching on her window and she clutched the covers closer to herself. What was going on? She slowly pulled the plush covers away from herself and tip toed towards the window until a boom sounded on top of her and she threw open her door and ran into the room across hers.
"Nate—Nate, I'm scared."
She saw his form asleep on the bed and she tried to shake him awake but he just stirred and fell back asleep causing her to groan. The booming sounds got louder and she quickly pulled his covers up and threw them back on top of her and snuggled close to Nate.
Her breathing slowed as his warm arms enclosed around her back. She closed her eyes and let her head tuck right under his and she smiled against his bare chest. She didn't know why but she felt a sense of protection when she held her hand up on his chest and felt his heart beat; he was still sleeping, yet he put a smile on her face when she saw the way his mouth was also turned up in a smirk.
Nate always managed to annoy the hell out of her, but then why was she feeling so wildly different around him now? Bhav sighed as she contemplated her thoughts. She was never one who would fall in love in a matter of days but as she thought back to when they first met she realized through all the teasing and fun, she had fallen in love with him.
She snuggled closer and felt a pair of lips brush across her forehead, startling her. "Are you awake?" She whispered in the darkness.
"It's kind of hard not to be when I've got a girl grasping onto me," Nate whispered back.
Bhav immediately pushed herself away and pulled the covers closely to her chest. "I—got scared."
"It's okay Bhav, you don't have to apologize. You've done nothing wrong." Nate smiled at her as he reached out to smooth down her hair.
"You—you're wrong. I shouldn't have come." She let go of the covers and stepped out of his bed when she saw a shadow by the window and leapt back into his arms. "I don't like this place. It's haunted." She whimpered.
"Hey—shush," He smoothed her hair down again and pulled her closer to him and she smiled inhaling his musky scent. "I'm always here for you,"
Bhav let her eyes close as she eased herself into his arms. She never knew such simple words could mean so much to her. His warm arms covered her like a blanket and she could feel herself drifting off to sleep as Nate pulled her closer to the bed.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Bhav stirred in her sleep and as she turned she felt herself smack straight into someone's bare skin. Her eyes opened instantly and she looked up to see Nate sleeping peacefully with his arm over her waist.
What in the world? She lifted his arm slowly and slipped out from his grip and stood at the large window. The same window that had scared her last night.
Nate felt some movement around him and his eyes opened slowly to see a figure covered in a comforter standing at the window. Instinctively he knew it was Bhav and he smiled. Last night, in her moment of vulnerability he had seen what she really felt about him. She wasn't pushing him away instead she pulled him closer. He hadn't felt such peace in his life that he had felt in that moment.
"Good morning," He called out to her as he got up from the bed.
He saw her turn slightly and smile. "Good morning,"
Nate was surprised. He would have thought that she would have ran out of his room the minute the sun rose and that she'd go back to being the Bhav that hated him but right now—this was different.
He stepped closer to her and saw her pull the comforter tighter around herself.
"Would you mind putting a shirt now—or do you enjoy showing off?" Bhav asked.
He smiled. "Does my being half naked bother you?" (A/N I'm sorry...I HAD to add it in, it was begging for it 😆)
Bhav smiled and closed her eyes. Nate repeating a line of her favourite character from Twilight was insane, yet she loved every part of him saying it. "No, it doesn't bother me,"
"Good," He whispered as he leaned closer, smiling to himself at the way she shivered feeling his arms enclose around her. "So this isn't bad?"
Bhav turned around and pushed him away. "It's weird. Go put on a shirt," She ran out of the room and into hers and he winced when he heard the door slam.
They were together all night and had an interesting talk. Where would that put things between them now?
Bhav leaned back on her own door as she thought about everything that happened between her and Nate in a clear perspective. Why did she feel so protected by him? He wasn't someone she had EVER envisioned herself falling for but now that she was in this situation, her thoughts on everything seemed to change. She didn't know how long she had sat there thinking about her whole situation when she realized that there was something she hadn't even thought about; every time she tried to stay away from Nate, something would push her closer to him. Bhav sat silently by her window seat and pulled her knees closer to her body as she watched the rain splatter on the window. Watching the rain was like watching herself. She was learning to let herself go and be carefree just the same.

"Did you guys find anything around the place?" Radz asked as she cuddled up to Mayank who lightly kissed her forehead.
Nate shook his head from the opposite sofa. "We walked around but there was nothing here...I'm thinking tomorrow I'll try to figure out what's wrong with the car,"
"You didn't do that today?" Bhav asked frowning.
"No queen B, I figured finding a phone was a bit more important," Nate retorted back.
"He's right," Radz added.
"Way to be on my side Radz," Bhav rolled her eyes as she pulled out a book.
"Oh you brought reading material," Nate reached over and grabbed the book out of her hand. "Macbeth? Really?"
Bhav glared and grabbed the book back. "It's my book; go find your own thing to read,"
Nate sighed dramatically before walking towards the bookshelves. "This is all Shakespeare." He made a face.
"Someone talks too much; I'm going to my room," Bhav picked up her book before stalking out of the room with Nate following close behind. Bhav could sense Nate right behind her and so she stopped before entering her room and turned around and face him.
"What?"
"You sure you'll be able to sleep in your own room?" Nate smirked before leaning an arm against her wall, trapping her in. "You know you could always come back in my room; like you did last night." He leaned down closer to her cheek and blew some air just under her ear, tickling her. "I promise to keep the monsters away."
Bhav was stunned. All she could do was gape at him. Never in her life had he been so forward with her and now - she was fighting the urge to say yes right away. Something in the back of her mind told her that even though he was saying all this in a flirty way, there was hidden emotion behind it all. He wasn't just promising anything for the heck of it. Nate would be there, every step of the way.
"Do you promise?" Bhav whispered back.
"Always." He winked as he leaned down and pressed his lips against Bhav's, so warm and sweet. Bhav didn't realize when her hands wound around Nate's neck as she pulled him closer not knowing where the book had disappeared to. It was strange to her how the realization that she had fallen in love with Nate had come to her. She stopped thinking and let her mind wander off as she felt the light pressure from Nate's hand which was pressed around her back.
Finally they both pulled back from the kiss and Nate rested his forehead against hers.
"Thank you,"
"For?"
"Not fighting back anymore," Nate whispered to her.
Bhav smiled as she hid her face in his chest, letting the memories of last night float back to her. She should have known from the start that he was the one for her.
Hope you liked it B! *hides face* 😳 And yes I did make you help me in sneaky ways!😛
Love,
Meera😳
