Hello Everyone! 😃 I'm not going to say anything about this shot, until the ending! 😃 Till then, enjoy! 😳
She grew tired of waiting. There she was standing along the back wall in the huge ballroom waiting for that one man; that one man who was ALWAYS late. She quickly grabbed her small blue clutch and walked outside into the cool night air on the balcony.
She closed her eyes gently, letting the wind wisp around her hair and tickle her ears, wishing he was with her experiencing this feeling. Her saree whipped around and she grabbed the pallu and pulled it around her.
She was furious with him. Tonight out of all nights he should've been here on time. It was their engagement for god's sake; yet where was he? Stuck in traffic or so his SMS told her. He was even to scared to call her.
Looking up at the moon she wasn't even sure why she fell for him. He was always late—and he never made the effort to make it up to her. He never surprised her with gifts or flowers or anything—yet her heart belonged to him.
Even thinking about him made her remember the way he looked at her—making her tingle down to her core; those smouldering brown eyes that looked deep into her soul; his floppy dark hair falling over his forehead, giving her the urge to brush it away.
She rubs her hands up and down her arms trying to keep warm when suddenly a black blazer comes over her shoulders. Shutting her eyes she inhaled the scent wafting around her. Azaini, she told herself. His favourite. She slowly turned and saw him standing in front of her, in a matching blue button down shirt over black slacks grinning her favourite smile at her.
Fighting the urge to smile back at him she turned around to face the moon.
"Naraz ho?"
"What do YOU think?" She glares at him before looking back.
"Naraz to tum ho hi nahi sakhti," He goes to stand behind her and encloses his arms around her.
"Acha? Kyun?" She asks not trying to fight out of his grip.
"Aaj humari sagaai hai," He whispers into her ear, his breath tingling under her
ear making her shut her eyes before realizing the moment.
She pushes him away and turns to face him. "Exactly. It's our engagement—and you STILL came late!"
"I'm sorry sweetheart," He holds his ears. "Mujhe maaf nahi kar sakhti?"
She shakes her head, her long blue chandelier earrings hitting her cheeks. "Nahi. You've got too much forgiveness from me."
"Yes—but you love me too much to stay mad," he slowly pushes a stray strand of her hair behind her ear, making her shiver from his touch.
She slowly looks up at him and smiles. Right then the soft music floats out of the balcony doors and Prem moves away from her and holds out his hand. "Can I have this dance before our engagement?"
She shakes her head but still plays her hand in his and her breath gets caught as he pulls her closer to him. Their bodies seemed to mould perfectly together as they swayed with the rhythm. She didn't know when she placed her head lightly on his chest but she knew it was the right step when he slowly leaned down and kissed her forehead lightly.
"I love you Prem,"
"Not as much as I love you Shifali,"
Shifali looked up and smiled, knowing he was right—there was no one who would be so willing to risk her wrath so much.
"You're not going to ask what took me so long today?" He smiles.
Shifali shakes her head. "Nope—mujhe tumhare excuses nahi sune,"
"Is baar sun na parega," He pulls her closer and then takes something out of pocket.
"Prem—sagaai andar ho rahi hain," Shifali smiles looking at the small box that he takes out.
"Pata hain—but really this engagement is about me and you," He opens the box slowly and holds it out in front of her before bending down on one knee. "Shifali, since the first time I saw you that day waiting for the bus in the rain, smiling as if the skies had deliberately opened for you; I was stunned. You had no care in the world for what people thought and you were just so happy, that was the first thing that stunned me about you. After that when we got to know each other I knew you were the one person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Will you tolerate my lateness all your life—because I promise to listen to your tantrums whenever you want. Will you please do me the good fortune of marrying me?"
Shifali never thought that she'd every cry when she was proposed to; but know she knew she was wrong. She didn't even realize when the tears flowed out of her eyes all he knew was that she was nodding.
"I love you Prem,"
"I love you too Shifu," Prem slowly slid the pear shaped ring on her finger.
Shifali looked down at the ring and then was surprised as Prem's arms wound around her back hugging her closer to him. This was where she wanted to be—outside in the cold air, standing with the person who loved her just like she loved him with all her heart.
Yes it was another one for Shifali, only because I actually wrote this one for her bday, but then she told me she wanted one along the lines of JTYJN and so I made up that other one for her and posted that on her bday! 😳 Not letting her know that this one was also coming! 😃 I just hope you liked it Shifu! 😃
Love you loads,
Meera😳
P.S. I actually wanted to post this a few days ago when you were feeling all low, but the mean girls didn't let me! *pouts*
