I did not mean that she literally looked like a tree. This being the Holiday Season in the West, we see brightly decorated trees with gold silver sparky things all over. Given that her dress was green and sparky, that is what came to mind. She did not look like a desi doolhan at all and resembled more a christmas tree.

And yes, her dress was not elegant it was gaudy. At least it looked that way on tv. It may have been because she was married in the middle of the day and running around the town dressed in it all day and dresses like that are more appropriate after dark.
