FF: Retake Part 4 updated July 12th

"So let's start with lunch. What do you want to order?" Arjun asked but just as Arohi was about to complain he stated "I can see how tired you are and I truly don't want to have to put up a show of perfection at a fancy restaurant so let's just order it here."

Arohi smiled while listening to Arjun's speech. She smiled at the fact that he always knew what she wanted although he was berating her a bit for her obsessive work habits.

"Alright you win. How about Italian? I haven't had that in a while. With cheesecake for dessert." She said.

Nodding Arjun rung Ms. Kumar and told her their order. Once the food arrived the couple started to eat with little conversation in between. The silence was refreshing as it brought a sense of peace and understanding. When time for dessert had rolled around Arjun had picked up Arohi and set her on his lap. Although she complained (continuously) about their new placements Arjun simply waved it all off saying that she said she would do whatever he wanted today.

That is how Arohi found herself being fed the piece of cheesecake with Arjun constantly muttering about how much weight she had lost, how unhealthy it was, how much the stress from this stupid job had affected her, etc, etc.

After they were done eating (finally sighed Arohi, if left up to Arjun he would have made her eat until she literally popped), Arjun placed them more comfortably on the sofa, laying on it with his back on the armrest and Arohi's back to his chest. One hand of his was wrapped protectively around her waist while the other was entwined with one of hers.

"I can't believe that I finally have you to myself today. You never have time for me anymore; we barely see each other or talk. I miss these peaceful moments." Arjun whispered into Arohi's ear.

"Arjun we see each other every day, although I agree with you that after such a hectic day I'm glad to spend some time with you like this." Arohi replied not wanting to get up anytime soon. After a long moment of silence Arjun noticed that Arohi had gone to sleep. He knew that she was not getting enough sleep since she woke up early and returned home late. She had also been having those restless dreams which kept her tossing and turning throughout the night. That coupled with her already busy agenda drained her of any strength. Feeling the need to make her as comfortable as possible so that she could rest for a while he slowly grabbed his phone and started to text his assistant:

Ms. Kumar, bring me a pillow and blanket, you can find one on the backseat of my car, send a peon to get it. When you bring them take extra precautions to be absolutely QUIET.

When Ms. Kumar went to give her boss the items he had asked for she almost let out a shocked gasp at the site before her: her boss, Mr. Punj, Mr.-I-don't-look-at-girls had his arms around one of the prettiest women she had ever seen in her life. Coming to her senses she quickly advanced forward and draped the blanket on the dosing woman, earning a smile of gratitude from her boss. She handed the pillow to Arjun after he quickly got up from his spot while placing the pillow as a substitute in order to let her rest.

Quickly he moved towards the door and signaled Ms. Kumar to follow him. Closing the door behind him Arjun put a finger to his lips and steered Ms. Kumar far away from the door before he started talking in only whispers.

"Arjun Sir I just received a call from the Avia Company. You had canceled your meeting with them today but they needed to talk to you urgently. They said that you immediately call them the first chance you get." Ms. Kumar stated.

Sighing Arjun nodded his head.

"Alright, I will give them a call right this minute. Please take care of my wife for me, see to it that she gets anything and everything that she would want or need. I shouldn't be more than 20 minutes, 30 minutes tops. Oh and whoever wakes up my wife will be promptly fired no matter the position they hold. So no one better disturb her. Please pass that along." Arjun said while turning on his heels to leave and finish the phone call that was keeping him from his wife.

Yes wife, many people would be surprised to know that he was married, Arohi wanted a small wedding with no publication. She wanted to be out of the lime light while all the women that Arjun had known before were always willing to give an arm and a foot to have their name on page 3. But that's why he loved her, had married her. She didn't want any of his money or power.

Ms. Kumar stood shocked in her spot as her boss walked away. As a 22 year old woman she had always thought that Arjun Punj was a handsome man and had developed a crush within a few days of working with him. But no matter what she did he would hardly look at her. Thus it came as a surprise (and she had to admit with a tinge of jealousy) that he was already married. She wondered when and how this happened since she knew none of her office colleagues knew about this. This piece of news was sure to break a few hearts today.

Just as she was settling in her desk Arjun came back, not wanting to leave his wife alone for any amount of time. Time, it was precious in their lives since he didn't get many moments like this with her anymore. But he was going to make that change as soon as her recordings were over (15 days and counting). He wanted to take that long awaited vacation to Europe. They hadn't gone on their honeymoon since Arohi got her recoding deal right before their marriage and he neither wanted her to give it up nor wanted to postpone the wedding.

"Did she wake up?" Arjun asked quietly.

"No Sir and I made sure that no phone calls were received in your office and that no one knocked on the door." Ms. Kumar replied.

"Thanks. I'm going to head home now; don't contact me whatever it is can wait till tomorrow." Just as Ms. Kumar was going to protest Arjun held up his hand and continued, "I don't care if it's a billion dollar contact nothing is more important than my wife. Today is just for her."

That stated Arjun turned and entered his office. A small smile played on the corner of his lips as he saw his wife Arohi wrapped up in the blankets on the sofa. She looks like an angel, he thought and for him she was. Ever since Arohi had entered his life it had taken a new route. She was the one to teach him love and happiness. After she became his wife his company surged (he was never poor but now everything was going his way). She was his happiness, his sole reason to live. He couldn't believe it when she said she would marry him, he felt like it was all a dream, a beautiful, magnificent dream that could end at any moment. If it was a dream he never wanted to wake up, but spend his entire life asleep if only she would accompany him.

Even now he was afraid that one day he would wake up and realize that she wasn't sleeping beside him. That it was all a ploy that his imagination had conjured. Hesitantly he brushed a few stray strands of hairs from her cheek and stayed there for a few moments just to look at her.

Smiling he stood up and carefully picked her up bridal style pillows and all. He didn't want to wake her up but let her catch up on some much earned sleep.

"Arjun" Arohi mumbled unconsciously snuggling into his chest.

Grinning now Arjun walked out of his office with his bride. He didn't care if people stared, hell he wanted them to. He wanted to show them that she was his all, that she was his. That whoever crossed her was never going to be forgiven. If a single tear cascaded down from her eyes he would make the life of the one responsible a living hell because death would be too forgiving. They needed to respect her and fear his wrath on whoever tried harming her or taking her away.

He had vowed to himself when Arohi had agreed to marry him that he would even destroy himself for her happiness Bas Itani Mohabbat Hai.

Caring Arohi down the hallway Arjun sent a nasty glare to anyone who tried to get in his way or make any noise. All whispering ceased when everyone saw the murderous glint in Arjun's eyes daring anyone to wake up the woman in his arms. When he got outside the office he signaled for his car to be brought. He then carefully put Arohi in the backseat. After adjusting the pillow and blanket to make sure everything was perfect Arjun finally went to the front seat to drive home. His Mercedes purred alive and 20 minutes later he was pulling into the gated entrance of their house.

The house wasn't all that big as Arohi had thought that big houses (aka mansions she called them) lost the homey touch and only felt cold and lifeless. Thus Arjun had built a two story 5 bedroom house in one of the best neighborhoods. He remembered that Arohi had argued about the strong iron gates and walls surrounding the house, but that was one thing he was adamant about having. He always wanted to know that she was safe no matter what the time or day when she was home. He wanted no compromises where her safety was concerned.

Only after he stopped in front of their house did Arohi stir from her sleep.

"Arjun, I'm sorry I fell asleep, but you didn't need to bring me home. I know you had lots of things planned today." Arohi said in a sleepy voice.

Smiling Arjun replied "Well I'm tired and haven't had my nap yet. So I was thinking that maybe we should sleep for a bit while Dondhu makes dinner. All the things planned could wait until then." He then proceeded to pick Arohi up again.

"Arjun what are you doing? I'm not asleep anymore and you know I can walk, hence the two legs." Arohi berated.

"I know Arohi, please, just humor me," replied Arjun without putting Arohi down. All the servants of the household turned to great their employers, all marveling in the love the two shared. Seeing everyone stare Arohi groaned and hid her face in the junction between Arjun's neck and shoulder.

Still tired Arohi fell asleep minutes after the couple got into their room. Arjun, also exhausted from work, also fell asleep while holding Arohi in his arms.

TUDH TUDH BANG CRASH

Arjun woke up with a jolt and without comprehending what was going on he reached for Arohi only to find her' missing. Frantically he got up and started calling for her.

"Arohi"

"Arohi!"

"Arohi!!"

When he got to the stairs to go down he saw some of the servants running around frantically while a few where huddled in a small circle. One such servant ran up to Arjun.

"Arjun Sir please come, we don't know what happened, we were all working when we we heard the crash." He stuttered pointing to the circle. "Arohi Madam she"

"Arohi, what happened to Arohi?" Arjun yelled now running to the circle. When he reached the circle he almost had a heart attack. Arohi, his Arohi was laying unmoving on the floor. Everything was cover in blood and in the center of it all was Arohi.

Hurriedly shoving the servants aside Arjun came to Arohi's side.

"Arohi, Arohi, what happened? Please open your eyes Arohi. Tell me this is all a joke, a a nightmare. Yes a nightmare, please just get up." Arjun cryed. No not again.

"Sir I just called the hospital. The ambulance is on its way." One servant informed him breaking Arjun out of his shock.

"You, what were all of you doing? What do I pay you to do?" Arjun yelled. "You couldn't even protect the one thing I value the most! I couldn't even protect her," his shouts finished off as a whispered to himself.
