Hey Everyone! 😃 *waves* I've written another one shot, I'm sure you're all VERY surprised by now...anyways! 😆 This one is for my very special sweet friend Sanya! 😃 *hugs* She's been super sweet to me all the time, and this new siggy and avi set, is all thanks to her, because she crazily wanted to thank me for all my ff's and one shots *shakes head* Anyways Sanya, this is for you! 😃 Enjoy! 😃
Sanya slowly stepped out of the courtroom and was overwhelmed as she was swarmed with people all around her, as they wanted to congratulate her on winning her first case.
"It's like they've never seen a girl lawyer before or something'." She groans as she quickly makes her way to an elevator; which would take her to the parkade. She quickly stepped inside, without thinking or even checking if anyone was waiting for the elevator, she pressed the "door close" button. Not a smart choice.
"Oh crap! I'm so sorry! What did I do?" Sanya quickly presses the door open button. "I can't believe I shut the door on your hand."
Right as the person turns around from yelping in pain, Sanya is stunned at seeing HIM again. He has grown his hair a little longer in the front and his dressing sense has definitely improved since the last time she saw him 2 years ago. He was wearing a dark shade of blue jeans with a creamy brown sweater that were making his hazel eyes shine chocolatey brown. He was smiling at her but his smile wasn't a normal smile, there was something hidden behind it. Sanya was pretty tall at 5'6" but here he was completely over shadowing her with his height of 5'10" Still seeing him again after 2 years evoked emotions within her. What kind of emotions, she couldn't put her finger on. She was stunned to see him yes, but she didn't know what she felt for him anymore. While she is thinking of this, he shakes his hand in front of her face.
"Hey Sanya! Kahan kho gayi?"He asks.
Sanya recomposes herself and smiles. "I'm totally shocked to see you here Prem! What are you doing here?"
"I heard you were fighting your first case, so I wanted to see it. I'm so pro---ow---ow!" Prem quickly puts his other hand over his injured hand which was throbbing red.
"Oh no! Are you okay?" Sanya asks quickly.
Prem shakes his head. "It really hurts actually--whenever we meet something or the other has to go wrong."
They both burst out laughing remembering old memories until Sanya just stops and bites her lip to keep from laughing. "Do you remember that time when I turned around and slapped you?"
Prem looks at her with a straight face. "That was NOT funny!"
"But it was to me!" Sanya giggles. "So where are you staying? I had no idea you came back here to Ludhiana,"
"At the Marriott, but right now I'm going to the hospital and then to the police to tell them that YOU purposely hurt me!"
"Oye Prem ke bache! You know that's not true. Chalo main hi tumko hospital le jaati hoon,"
"Arre nahi, we need to celebrate your winning your first case. Hey! Why don't we go to the old restaurant we used to love? That's where we went the first time--you know'" He trails off remembering the first time they went on a date at that restaurant and how much they both had.
Sanya breaks out into a smile. "I think you're right, but are you feeling up to it?"
"Don't worry about my hand Sanya--it doesn't hurt much." Prem smiles at her, looking deep into her eyes.
Sanya quickly recomposes herself, already afraid of falling for him again.
"Can we take my car?" Sanya offers. "It's a special car,"
Prem notices the glint in her eyes and so he agrees. "Whatever you want."
They both go towards the parkade and Sanya leads Prem to her royal blue colored Lexus.
Prem "No wonder you were so excited to take your car. It's a much better car than the last time we met'"
Sanya sighs. "I sold that Hyundai, the one you gave me, the day after you left'"
"Because I left?"
Hearing Prem say that brought back the memories from the last time they saw each other two years ago.
Flashback
Sanya had met Prem at law school, where she was studying to be a criminal lawyer and he was studying to be a corporate lawyer. They had both been instantly attracted towards each other since the start. Throughout the school year they both became exclusive with each other. Sanya's parents had taken a liking for Prem, but the real problem came from his parents. They did not like Sanya's career driven goals. In their family, women were made to be a good wife and a good mother, never a good career woman. This caused immediate clashes between the two families. At the end, Prem made the choice between his parents and Sanya, and he chose Sanya. They both got engaged and the wedding festivities had started'that's when the problem struck. A week before the wedding, Prem received a call from his father in London. His mother had suffered from a major heart attack, and she was in a critical condition. The doctors' didn't know how much longer she would live. So Prem took the first flight back to London, leaving nothing but a note for Sanya, saying the he had to go to London, for his mother. Sanya had taken this to heart and couldn't understand why he couldn't talk to her about it but it just hurt her so much that Prem had left her a week before the wedding.
End Of Flashback
Prem shakes his head but sees Sanya still looking out into the distant. "Hello, anyone here?" he lightly knocks on her head.
Sanya shakes herself out of it and smiles. "I'm sorry Prem. I was just thinking about something'"
Prem gets a mischievous look in his eyes. "Me right?"
Sanya lightly slaps his shoulder as best as she could. "God! You are SO full of it. Nothing's changed has it?"
Prem shakes his head. "Nope, not even my feelings for you,"
Sanya looks up at Prem immediately her hand still stuck on the door handle; stunned that he actually said all that. "You don't really mean that--" She wanted him to say yes, that he still loved her and came back to whisk her away but she knew it was too much to wish for.
Prem shakes his head. "Not at all,"
They both finally got into the car and arrived at the restaurant, but just ended up having a few drinks and some dessert. After they finish at the restaurant, Sanya decides to drop him off at his hotel and so when they get to the Marriott, he persuades her to come up with her since she's had a few drinks as well. Once they both got upstairs to his hotel suite, Sanya plopped right down on the sofa and fell asleep. Prem took one look at her and a smile crept onto his face. She looked so peaceful in her sleep; as if she was having really nice dreams. He quickly went into his room and took out an extra pillow and a blanket for her. He quickly covered her, and went into his main bedroom to sleep.
Next Morning
Sanya wakes up at around 9 in the morning to the sweet smelling fragrance of hot coffee. She slowly lets her eyes flutter open and takes in her surroundings and her eyes pop open wide. Where am I? Oh god, I'm in Prem's hotel suite, she slowly puts her hand to her head and massages her temples. She sees her purse by the side of the sofa. She leans down and produces a bottle of Advil. As she pours out two caplets, Prem comes out of the attached kitchen with a breakfast tray.
"I suggest that before you take those useless pills, try a homemade remedy."
Sanya laughs, "I still don't understand why you chose law; you're a natural doctor,"
"Stop trying to distract me," He frowns at her. "Just drink this," He gives her a glass with a white ish colored liquid.
Sanya makes a face. "What is that? It looks so uck!" She proceeds to put the Advil caplets in her mouth but Prem catches her hand midway.
"Haven't you heard the phrase, 'don't judge a book by its cover?'"
Sanya rolls her eyes. "Stop being so philosophical Prem. Mujhe woh nahi peena,"
"Either tum chup chap peejao, warna mujhe hi kuch karna hoga," He raises his eyebrow as if threatening her.
Sanya retorts back raising her own eyebrow. "I'd like to see you try!"
Prem smiles as he jumps up on the sofa, and grabs both her hands with one of his to stop her from resisting. Then with his left hand he gives her the drink.
"Prem main tumhe'" Sanya coughs and so he gives her a little more and then she smiles. "This is actually really good'.what is this?"
Prem grins. "I knew it'd work. It's lime water. Nimboo Pani,"
"Ohhh!" Sanya smiles. "Anita and Jhanvi always used to tell me to drink that; but as always'I'd never listen to them."
Prem laughs. "So how are Anita and Jhanvi?
"Hmm well Anita's in Mumbai recently engaged. And Jhanvi's happily married in England with Rahul."
"That's great for both of them!" Prem smiles.
"Anyways--how are those two weird friends of yours? Preet and Harman?"
"They're both fine," Prem answers and then pretends to think. "Actually they'll both be devastated when they find out about Anita and Jhanvi."
"Aacha? Woh kyun?" Sanya asks with a confused look on her face.
Prem pretends to look shocked. "Don't tell me you don't remember? The four of them would always flirt around and we'd always joke that they would end up married after--us." Prem's smile fades when he says the last word.
Sanya refuses to let his tone affect her feelings and so she shakes her head. "Well that did happen because of you; if you hadn't left that day, things would be so different, for everyone."
"I had no choice Sanya." Prem groans. "You know how important Ma was for me."
"Was?" Sanya catches the word. "Oh my god--is she?"
Prem slowly nods, tears brimming at his eyes. "She passed away shortly after I met her'"
Sanya couldn't stop the tears coming to her eyes either. "I'm so sorry Prem--I didn't know."
"Kaise pata chalta? You blocked all my calls, and emails. And you deleted all my texts and messages without even reading them or listening to them. You wanted to live in a bubble--away from me--the one person who loved you the most."
"Prem.... I'm--"
Prem looks up at her and she could feel his pain within her own heart. "When I needed you the most, you weren't there for me,"
"I'm here now," she utters quietly. She gets up from her spot, and goes to Prem and hugs him, as if nothing else mattered more in the world. It made her feel as if the last two years had simply faded away with the past memories. Right now it was Prem and her. Together the way it always was meant to be.
"Sanya--I'm sorry." Prem says, slowly backing away and looking into her eyes. "I know what happened was wrong--but at that time--"
He stops talking once Sanya's hand covers his mouth. "Don't Prem. I don't need to know'jo bhi ho chuka hain'uss baara mein sochke kya faida na?" She smiles up at him and in response he just hugged her again.
This time she knew it was a different hug. This was telling her that he believed there was hope for both of them this time around. Their love would come back--even stronger than it was before and this time it would last. Forever and ever....
So how was it? 😳 I'm not totally happy with it, cus it had too much background info, but I still hope Sanya enjoys reading it! 😃
Love you all loads,
Meera😃
P.S. Special thanks for Ravs to proofread it for me! *hugs*
