Dr Armaan (Karan Singh Grover) & Dr Riddhima (Jennifer Winget) Admittedly, Armaan and Riddhima's love story has taken the clich turns almost all filmy romances do... First 'nafrat', then slowly 'pyaar', then one big fight and all that finally leading to what we have today ' Indian Television's "Most Romantic Jodi"! Two amazingly sketched characters portrayed by two of the finest actors in the industry, in one of Indian TV's most popular and loved shows!
The magic of Armaan & Riddhima's love is something anyone would fail to successfully put into words... Their love makes the viewer fall in love, with them and with their love! When they cry, we cry. When they're happy, we're happy. When they're in love, we're in love! And that's why we love them!
Karan & Sukirti Kandpal's chemistry, as Armaan-Riddhima, had left many fans spellbound... Both of them proved to be such amazing actors and it went without saying ' Rab had definitely made this onscreen Jodi... No wonder then, destiny bought them together to be our Armaan-Riddhima (A-R) after Shilpa Anand's pairing with Karan had also been loved while she was on the show as Riddhima... However, everything in life which has a beginning also has an ending and all times, good and bad, come to a close at some point. Sukirti's journey with 'Dill Mill Gayye' ended in April 2009 (prior to which Shilpa Anand, who also played Riddhima, left the show in May 2008) and April 2009 was when it was time for Jennifer Winget to step in as DMG's 3rd Dr Riddhima Gupta!
What makes "KaJen" (Karan-Jennifer) so special is that their working relationship goes back a long way. They had earlier worked together as a romantic couple in 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' and were very much loved as a couple then also. During the time they spent together shooting KZK, they'd become very close friends. Later, when Karan hosted the reality show
'Zara Nachke Dikha' in 2008, Jennifer happened to be a participant on the show... and now in 2009, we are getting to see the magic of Karan & Jennifer return to our screens once again... and this time they'll be portraying our already much loved characters in love ' Armaan & Riddhima!
Character: Dr Armaan Malik / Actor: Karan Singh Grover
Karan Singh Grover (born 23rd February 1982): Spent his childhood in Saudi Arabia and moved to Mumbai in the year 2000 to pursue a degree and career in Hotel Management. However, after bagging the label of the "Most Popular Model" at the Gladrags contest in2004, acting became a natural progression. Karan debuted as an actor in the TV industry with Ekta Kapoor's youthful show 'Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi' on MTV, after which he was a part of many acting projects including 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay', 'Solah Singaar', 'CID', 'Princess Dolly aur Uska Magic Wand' and 'Parrivaar'. However, it was with the launch of StarOne & Cinevistaas 'Dill Mill Gayye' in August 2007, that he shot to instant fame! His portrayal as Dr Armaan Malik has won him many million fans across the globe and today, his good looks, charming personality and immensely natural talent have assured his position as one of the most popular and loved stars on Indian television. KSG (as fans love to call him) married actress Shraddha Nigam in a private ceremony, held at Goa, on 2nd December 2008 and presently, along with 'Dill Mill Gayye', he is also participating as a contestant on Sony's dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' (earlier, he has hosted a dance show 'Zara Nachke Dikha' on StarOne, but this is his first attempt as a contestant himself). Here's wishing him all the best for 'JDJ' (and all you India residents don't forget to text Karan to 52525 every Friday night till your fingers drop!)... We know he will keep on making us proud with everything he does, because he is our 'armaan' for a reason! We love you Karan, keep rocking!
Character: Dr Riddhima Gupta / Actor: Jennifer Winget
Jennifer Winget (30th May 1985): After acting in small roles in movies such as 'Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya' and 'Kuch Na Kaho', Jennifer made her television debut on the comedy show 'Shaka Laka Boom Boom'. Later, she went on to being a part of many serials such as 'Kkusum' and 'Kahin To Hoga'. She also appeared opposite KSG in 'Kasauti Zindagii Kay' and played the lead role in 'Sangam'. Her other work on TV includes having participated in the dance reality show 'Zara Nachke Dikha'. Jennifer started shooting for 'Dill Mill Gayye', as Dr Riddhima, in April 2009 and we have no doubt that she will live up to our expectations and do an impressive job portraying the character, as she has already proven to be one of Indian television's most talented and adorable actresses. We wish Jennifer all the luck and we will definitely be supporting her all we can. God bless you Jennifer, and thank you for taking on the role of our Riddhima!
