I always felt that Raj Kapoor was a better director than an actor, but yes he did use some cheap gimmicks as an earlier poster mentioned in his later films.

^Oh, I had no idea about the rumormongering. Well, I suppose you are right that he sent a precedent for the future. What I knew from talking people from back then is how people would always go to his movies to see certain scenes that happened to be considered quite "scandalous" back in the day. Err, the Dimple Kapadia rumor is pretty gross though. But yeah Guru Dutt was the best of that era, a class apart.😊

and on the Kapoors, I like Rishi, Karishma & Kareena the most. They are good actors. And in looks dept it's gotta be young Rishi and Shashi Kapoor. I have not seeen many Raj Kapoor films but I did c many songs. He sure dresses like Charlie Chaplin a lot.
