If we all hate this show, why do we watch it?

I am the first to say that I am sort of a hypocrite. I cannot stand CB anymore, because the story is getting ridiculous and the plot isn't moving anywhere. This storyline is more in line of Ekta Kapoor and the concept is totally 4 years old.

Still, I read the CB updates and sometimes watch it for number of reasons:

1. Laugh - It is fun to watch how people miss each other! I get a good laugh when Mrinali insults everyone, especially Chhoti Bahu Vish
2. Deepika - Joker of Purohit House
3. Dev's Idiocy - I don't think he came from America, because he is just totally dumb. I am sure that illiterate fools from Russia can understand that Radhika is the Dream Girl
4. Background Music - I like it
5. Time Pass - Sometimes, I just forward to the good scenes and then skip the others, because I know what is happening between the others anyways!

So, what about all of you? I know EVERYONE hates the current storyline, but what is the reason to watch the show?

I can't say for others. But I guess I had been watching with the hope that the storyline will change and they will show that Dev and Rads came face to face and Dev knows her true identity and why keeps hiding from him even when these two are married.... I guess human nature.... the HOPE. Its because of some hope I had been watching.
But yes, now its height of everything that I don't mind missing one or two episode or may be a week to watch. Nothing happens, other than Rads crying.

i have never watched an indian or american serial religiously TILL NOW.

I don't know what is in this serial that I am addicted, I will try really hard to break my addiction but I think the reason why I am watching is because I can't beleive such a big explosive secret is on this show and people are on and about their daily lives in the show.

I am like WTF, how does this happen in india, its like neurotic. I am reaching a point however where I am getting very angry at radhika and feel like slapping her around mercilessly, is that a bad thing?!

I watch it for Dev/Radikha scenes and waiting for them to unite. ( Creatives know when that is going to happen)

Waiting impatiently.

Good question !!! 😊

Well ... I speak for myself.
I love the show, the romance, the actors, the predictability. I like the present story-line. It is so traditional, so Indian. I get to see places and people ... and for free.

Soaps like C-B have taught me a lot about the Indian joint family, family dynamics, duty, devotion, faith and rituals.

Yes, the show does have its unrealistic moments, but I do not care. Work keeps me extremely busy and between conferences, travel, patents, architectures and the outdoors, C-B is a refreshing diversion.

I enjoy reading the C-B IF posts, the humor, the predictions and the disappointments. Some of the members are extremely creative. I love it all. I feel privileged to be with such gifted people !!!

As for C-B, I feel sorry for Dev. If only he didn't have to suffer so much. I sincerely hope that Dev sees Radhika in his house, confronts her and accepts the fact that he is not married to her. That will end some of his agony.

I do not watch all the episodes (no time). But I am in no hurry. The creatives can drag the story-line as much as they want ... I will always remain a faithful viewer.

I too have never watched a serial till now and always used to make fun of my friends who were hooked to these shows. I started watching this by chance (the marriage episode was the first one I watched) mainly because of the beautiful lead actors - Dev and Radhika. Then I started liking the story and began watching it regularly.
I too am frustrated that it is dragging on now and there are so many senseless things happening. But I still put up with it because
1) I want to know how & when they will be brought face to face finally and the truth revealed
2) I agreed to do updates for this forum

I watch it for Dev and Rads.. they look so cute together, and look so nice when HAPPY
Rads is the prettiest bahu I think.. such innocence in her voice, and expressions..
the Holi scenes, dream scenes were so romantic!! :)
But alas, we dont get to see them nowadays.. but only CRY CRY CRYyyyyyyyyyyying scenes!!!!
I usually read update first, see if any nice scene with Rads or Amma , then I watch on youtube...

I have not watched an Indian soap in almost a decade-had family visiting from India Nov 08 and got the zee-sony package and guess what-I got hooked onto Choibahu 😆 when I would be the one asking my friends , "how you can tolerate these serials/soaps?" Now they make fun of me!

Also, I am a Krishna devotee and have a similar murti (since I was a kid) which goes with me everywhere and I talk to him too---so, I guess I feel this connection and in the hope that Kanha will not let Rads down-I keep reading the updates first and depending on that watch the show (or a particular scene) if there is something interesting or funny or Radev scenes...
OK enough said, but I am getting addicted to my India Forums-CB friends 😊
