Summary
Amma talks Shastriji into agreeing to the plan. Shastriji is not very sure and says he must ask Dev. Dev searched for Vishakha but does not find her. He comes to Dharamshala and Amma tells him of the solution. He does not see Radhika's face yet and asks her from the other side of the door if she is ready to help him. She reluctantly says yes.
Part I
Amma tells Shastriji that we can save the situation by making Radhika go in place of Vishakha. Shastriji is shocked to hear this and says ' how can you even think this? This is adharm. ' She says 'Lalla, listen to me, first when you hear it is will sound preposterous. But now you need to think of how to save the honor of both families more than anything else.' Shastriji says ' I know that and that is why we should find Vishakha'. Amma says: 'But we don't have time for that. By the time we search for her and find her, the damage will be done. Listen to me, we will manage it at the puja. Meanwhile you can search for Vishakha and bring her back. Devki, why don't you make him understand?' Devki looks at Radhika who listens to all this with a shocked expression.
Part II
Dev reaches the railway station and is looking for Vishakha among the crowd. She is standing very near but he does not see her. She turns and spots him and tries to hide behind a pillar. Dev continues to look but fails to find her.
Back in Dharamshala, Shastriji is still not convinced to go ahead with Amma's plan and says ' No, this cannot be done. It is wrong.' Amma says: 'Don't misunderstand me. I am also not happy with this but this will help us all from a bigger sin.' Shastriji says 'But it is cheating.' Amma tries to reason with him and says that 'Even Gods have resorted to such means when the need arose. This is not wrong if it will save many people's lives. Let Radhika go now but we will find Vishakha before the puja starts. ' Radhika is listening to all this. Shastriji says ' I have to ask Dev before taking any such decision. And we haven't thought about Radhika. What will she feel if she is made to do this?'. Amma looks at Devki and says ' Don't worry about her. I will make her understand.'
At the station Dev is still looking for Vishakha when Purab comes in hurriedly and collides with him. They both look at each other and Dev says sorry and moves away. Purab realizes who he is. Just then Vishakha sees Purab and calls him. She says "What took you so long? I was so worried.' Purab says 'Now there is no need for you to worry, I am here.' She says 'We still have one more hour before the train leaves so we have to hide somewhere till then.' And they both go away.
In Dharamshala, Amma puts on a pained expression and goes to talk to Radhika. She says 'I know you will be surprised but there is really no other way. What Vishakha did has put us all….leave it…she is still immature and does not know. She will return soon. But till then we need to hide this from her in-laws because they will forgive anything but not such a folly from a daughter in-law.' She then changes tactics and tries some more stronger emotional blackmail. She says ' I know you don't really care about your sister. If you do, then you need to save her today.' Devki steps in and says 'Ammaji, we cannot do this injustice to Radhika again. I know what she went through last time.' Amma looks at Devki and says ' Don't you have any heart? Why did we do it last time? To save the family honor. And this time too, it is for the same reason that I ask to do it. ' She cries and tells Radhika ' Your father has done so much for you, do you have any gratitude? Only you can save this family now. And if you cannot save your father's honor, then all your puja and bhakti are of no use.'
Part III
Purohit Bhavan, people are asking Daadi where Dev and Choti Bahu are. Vaishali tells them that they are on their way. Chacha murmurs something to Arjun and Mrinalini (could not catch it). Vaishali tells Daadi ' Maaji I think the problem is much more grave than what Dev is telling us. Vishakha is not scared, she has gone mad (is that the translation for bhaukla jaana?) Dadi says ' No bahu, I don't think so. And even if that was true, Shastriji is there to make her understand.' Chacha is listening to all this and says that this is all a big mistake. I think we are going to lose our family honor now. Dev cannot even handle today's function then how is he going to shoulder the big responsibilities of being a Purohit? I think the best solution is to make Arjun and Deepika sit for the puja.' Dadi and Vaishali look worried.
Back in Dharamshala, Amma asks Shastriji if he got to talk to Dev and he says he could not reach Dev over phone. He asks, 'What did Radhika say?' and Amma replies that she has no regard for our family's honor. Just then someone knocks on the door aand Shastriji asks the person to come in. It is Dev and he says ' I am going to tell you something which will …' and Shastriji stops him in mid sentence and says that they know. Dev looks totally defeated and says " I searched everywhere but did not find Vishakha. I don't know what to do now. There everyone is waiting for us to return to start the puja.' Shastriji does not know what to say and Amma goes to him and says ' There is a way, you can take Radhika with you dressed as Vishkaha to complete the puja.' Dev is shocked and says ' What are you saying? I cannot even think of this when I know that she is not the one I married. This is absurd.' Amma says ' I understand but what else can be done now? What if the world comes to know?' Dev says ' No, that cannot happen.' Amma: 'That is why I am asking you to think about it. By the time the puja starts, we will bring back Vishakha so there will not be any problem.' Dev asks, ' But is Radhika ready for it?' Amma says it does not matter what she thinks. She will do as we tell her. But Dev says that he has to ask her and Amma backs off saying of course you must. Dev goes to talk to Radhika who is standing on the other side of the door. Without looking at her, he talks to her from this side of the room and asks, ' Are you ready for it? I do not want to force anything upon you and you can tell me frankly if you are willing to come along with a man who is not married you. But will you do it for my sake?' She keeps quiet and everyone waits for her answer. Then he says ' You don't have to say anything, I understood from your silence.' And he turns towards Shastriji and prepares to leave. Shastriji says 'Please forgive us.' Dev: 'No babuji, it is not your fault. I married Vishakha and it was my responsibility to ensure her well being. The fact that she ran away indicates my failure to do so. I will have to find strength to face the situation now.' And he starts to walk away. Just then Radhika says 'I will come.' And he stops in his track surprised.
