On second thoughts, they may want to trade this experience if chances are the experience would turn out to be something like this:😛

😆 jokes apart, with you on your last paragraph. It's so worth the wait😊 We did not even find out the gender. The thrill of having the girl child both time around was such a bliss as this is what we wanted all along😊

Arrey yaar ussme bhi ek thrill hain. Will I be caught - will I get away with it. I hope my child gets the eyes, yeah the eyes kind of looked like hubby's. Oh dear lord not the hair though, hubby is balding and so is his whole family. Hubby will suspect if kids get thick luxurious locks that fell oh so carelessly over his face in a sexy messy way. Turns out kids get lots of thick dark hair and bald hubby boasts good hair is in his genes. Unpredictability is a thrill ride I tell you. 😆

^^^^😆 reminds me of that joke - once upon a time all women on earth get together and decide to appeal to the god to end the biased treatment against women. God and them settle down on women bearing the child but father experiencing the labor pains during delivery😆 Pretty soon they were knocking at god's door to let him know they are okay with how things used to be😆

Of course the thought of designer babies left many people shocked, surprised and worried about the implications. However, how many of you have stopped to wonder about designer science in everyday life. Chances are that at this very moment you are consuming designer science.

Did you ever think of the plants in your house? The flowers in the landscaping, the indoor plants, a kitchen her garden, a vegetable patch. Unless you have made a conscious effort to seed and grow native or non genetically modified plants, chances are that 95% are genetically modified. These plants are designer plants. Scientists played with plant genetics to fulfill our needs. Thats why you can grow Tulips from Holland in your backyard, or get prettier plants, or grow outdoor plants in containers.

You probably had a meal sometime. Perhaps some rice, pasta or bread, maybe meat of some kind or a side of pulses or vegetables. A glass of milk, some juice. Did you know for years crops are being genetically bred and modified to increase yield, be more disease and pesticide resistant. Scientists and even farmers without science have been genetically designing crops and food plants. Thats why they get two yields a season instead of one, thats why they can spray the field with herbicide and not kill the crop, thats why they get giant sized vegetables. Did you know cattle, poultry, swine are injected with growth hormones. This makes them fatter and meatier for consumption. It makes the cow give more milk and the chicken lay more eggs. Scientists breed designer animals and even without science farmers have always tried to breed their farm animals.

Whether it is plants or animals - the natural reproduction process that occurs in nature is inhibited. In a science lab genes are studied and selective genes are combined. In a non science setting growers and farmers breed certain plants and force breeding in animals. If the resulting strain is not satisfactory it is destroyed and taken back to the lab/breeding room for improvements.

If you were to extend the analogy to humans. You would not be able to procreate on your own choice. Either scientists or a bunch of breeders would decide what characteristics they want. Scientists will create babies in a test tube. Breeders will force two people with desirable characteristics to procreate. If you do not have desirable characteristics as determined by a third party, you could not procreate period. You must be kicked out of the gene pool. Any babies that do not meet desired characteristics will be aborted. Sounds cruel and shocking does it not.

The purpose of this rant

Man has been playing with nature, being God for years; why is it that only when it comes to humans we start thinking about what we do?

Since these feats of designer science feed us, beautify our homes etc, serve a human purpose - is it justified?

Are you bothered that things you consume come from designer science? Are you concerned with scientists genetically modifying plants or farmers/growers practicing hit and miss breeding with their plants and animals - or both?

Does it concern you that some of these genetic characteristics just do not occur in nature? Cows could be given growth hormones of another species, It is like a human being shot with gorilla steroids to be more muscular or more sexually viable.

Does it concern you that some genetically modified foods have caused new allergies and reactions. They allow for more toxic pesticides to be used and come into our food and water sources.

If designer science is something that bothers us, is this not a train that should have been derailed long ago before waiting till now?

Surprisingly most people who express ethical and moral shock at designer humans think it is wrong to make a conscious effort to restore plant and animals as it is in nature. Going organic and natural is viewed as some modern fad and not something with greater concern. Is this distinction Human vs. Rest of Nature that we have fair? Where do we draw the line? Where does the slippery slope end?

I think its kinda wrong bout the designer babies. If a couple want a baby they should have one and be proud of wat they have. Its a little person life that they are in control off. Instead of going to a clinic, and making the little thing so beautiful just too make them selfs happy.
Instead they should be happy and proud of a little child they have no matter wat.

Should parents be allowed to choose pre-birth genetic altering for changing traits(cosmetic / vanity) of thier unborn? 'No to 'Designer Babies'
related -
a) Should parent have right to say YES or NO, for any pre-birth genetic procedure used for cure disability or life threatening defect? Yes I don't see any problem with that
b) Genetic altering is kind of playing against the law of almighty, any justification around it? I support it as means of preventing life-threatening diseases, and to certain extent, to get rid of certain disabilities. I don't see it as playing against the law of the Almighty. I don't think taking medication or treatment is against any religion.
c) Do you see changing cosmetic traits of unborn as the IN thing for the next generation? I'm afraid Yes, it could become the next IN-thing for future generations... and I don't want to see it happen.

Just to clarify, Designer babies are different from babies receiving pre-natal screening or treatment for diseases.

Yeah, I am all for this new thing. But couldn't they have started this 20 years ago? By now, the beautiful things would be in full blossom.😉
But what's this about parents not being able to take pride? Hey, with the way most people look, they and their parents would be better off for it... feel more proud, not be the butt of jokes... be able to focus on their studies. Anyways, Who wants to show off a duck ugly kid? I know i'd be mad as hell if my wife ever got me a dumb looking kid. I'd be off with her head... like pull a Henry on her Anne Boleyn act😆
Also, what was the other point? Yeah, loss of individuality. Now Just coz people get a menu to order from dont mean they all go for the same dish. People will still pick trash even when there's delicacy dangling right in front of them. It's like different things tickle different people's fancy. Heck, how do you suppose even ugly girls get to go on honeymoons? 😉So if you really look at it, there's muthing to worry about. Meanwhile, these creations would really make the world a beautiful place. Dont you want that?😛

It depends on wat perspective on one's view on beauty is.

Most ppl wen they have a child, they think he/she is the most beautifulest child no matter wat.
And anyway it shouldnt matter wat ppl say bout a child on there looks. If someone goes up to a parent saying how ugly there child is, the parent is obviously going to be upset, but there is noo way that they should let that child no any way! Think of how that child is going to feel and there self confidence will come crashing down.
