The current state of DMG is a ...mess I'm a huge AR and DMG fan and it's sad that I'm making this post...Since its the weekend, I was bored so I started watching old DMG episodes. I started from the first episode and even though I have watched the same epis like 10 times..I still dont get bored and literally enjoy watching them again. I noticed that back then the creatives actually made an effort to make DMG- the best show on Tv. And I'm not saying that Shilpa's exit ruined DMG, the creatives messed up the characters way before Shilpa left.
Again the actors are not really at fault, its unfortunately the creative team
This is how the characters have changed..
Armaan- If you observe the initial episodes...Armaan was this naughty, playful yet ambitious guy. He cared for his patients a LOT (ex- minnie). He cared about his career, rmr the bet with Ridz for IOTM? He was very competitive too, he wanted to make the most accurate diagnosis and acted more responsibly. He interacted with other interns more- rmr calling Anji "beautiful" all the time and hugging Atul for no reason sometimes? đłđł Now- the ambitiousness is totally gone, dead and buried. I'm happy that Shashank finally knows about AR.. but his approach for persuading Shashank is totally WRONG. Instead of settting a tent, Armaan needs to show Shashank that he actually owns a nice house...where him and Ridz can actually live. Maybe he should start dressing professionally..instead of becoming "Suri" đđ. I have not seen him interact emotionally or professionally with his patients at ALL. When Dhruv came in DMG, I wa s like "Thank God..finally we'll see some doctor-patient interactions." BUT NO...Dhruv and Nana only come to Sanjeevani to help and apple and bulbul. One thing he did right is trying to talk to Shashank...communication is the key!! but why a press conference??!!? Why cant he just go to his house and talk to Shash?! Maybe now, Armaan should bring in his family, so that Shashank knows that Armaan DOES have parents who are doctors as well. Also Shashank and I both dont like Armaan's long hair ...so he needs to get rid of them too! đđ
Riddhima- Again..I'll always love Riddhima's character, but why all these changes in her character?! She started off as this very sensitive, playful, chirpy and very ambitious girl...then she transformed into a confused girl who didnt trust anyone (rmr the terrace scene where the kada breaks?) and now the only thing important to her is LOVE. What happened to the determination towards work? What happened to the super bubbly Ridz? đđđ Riddhima's character changed way before SA left..so Sukirti is NOT to be blamed. Rmr the Ridz who used to take her dad's advice for all medical cases? Yeah, I miss that Riddhima
Anjali- she is independent, strong and a very modern girl. One good thing is that she remains to be the same..even today. But rmr how she used to be a grey character...who was sometimes mean to Ridz? Well now she's not...she's pretty much a positive character. But the positive character gives her NO scope to perform in DMG. She is there in every scene looking pretty and saying "Shut up, Atul!" and thats it. Which is sad. When she mentioned the adoption thing to Ridz, I thought it was pretty rude and she even said that "dad has always loved you more than me" Even though whatever she said made me mad..but atleast this gave some dimension to Anjali's character. Finally, maybe maybe maybe the creatives will start giving Sunaina some importance.
Atul- Here is one guy who everyone loves..we all love him and he hasn't changed either. He is still a plant-lover, an environmentalist and basically the most adorable guy. But then he is given ZERO importance. Poor guy did rectal exams for a month and did extra amount of hours ...and Shashank made him do that..maybe the creatives could have a scene where Shashank is apologizing to Atul for misunderstanding him? His love for Anjali is so true and honest, yet there is no progress. And for GOD's sake he deserves to be IOTM this month!!!!!
Muskaan- Frankly speaking, these days Muskaan has no reason to be in DMG...cuz this is projected by the creatives themselves. Which is not true...there are sooo many ways they could develope Muskaan's character. I never came to know how Muskaan got over Armaan..maybe they can show a confrontation between Armaan and Muskaan ..where she can talk to Armaan about how she liked him but then she realized that Rahul is actually her true love. What happened to her doing post-grad? What happened to her drug-addict brother? How did she even get over Rahul going to America? What happened to her staying in contact with Rahul? What will happen when Muskaan's parents will come to know that RM were never married and now Rahul is gone....are they gonna get her married? So many questions need to be answered. Yet I see no progress.
Nikita- Again good character going no where. She seen stealing medicines in Sanjeevani...so that she can get fired. How pathetic! What happened to her old love for Armaan? Is she over it? How about she learns to start freshly...by kinda start liking Abhi? Abhi once said that Nikita has a history of leaving different hospitals..why though? When Shweta joined DMG..her character was supposed to be best friends with Riddhima..they are friends but not best friends.
Abhimanyu- He is this one doctor with a very dynamic personality! He is successful, intellingent and he came to Sanjeevani with a mission. But that mission is also dead and gone. What happened to the Sanjeevani's financial crisis? As far as I know the concert only paid the patient's bills....so is Sanjeevani still in trouble or no? He is in such position that he doesnt want Niks to leave Sanjeevani and he still has to take her childish behavior...so I cant blame him for that. But I would LOVE to know about his past! Rmr once Niks said ....Abhi def has a raaz too..I want to know about his family, if he's ever been in love and all. There is soo much scope with Abhimanyu...I hope the creatives realize that đ
Medical Cases- We need them. Internship is almost done, yet the interns kinda behave worse when it comes to tackling cases. Patients are now only used for convincing your lady love, sometime young teenage boys even develop a crush on the interns, sometimes little kids are bribed, and most of the times- they are seen dancing and drinking bhang with the docs Very sad. What happened to the cases like Minnie's, Chirag's, the punjabi lady who had a tough delivery, and yeah I cant think of any more cases.
The only thing thats actually going rock solid in DMG is the AR relationship. They have been together for a while now *knocks on wood* and their love for each other has only grown and matured. There is no confusion in Riddhima's head about Armaan and vice versa. So that is one thing which is keeping DMG going...
Idk if this topic will be closed or not..I hope its not. Because I'm not bashing..its just constructive criticism. Neither am I condemning any actor. If DMG characters are not strong enough today...then its not the actors' fault. Its the creatives and whoever who decided story. Basically, the love for medicine is lost in interns....I made this post because I love DMG and really want it to improve.
I would love to know your thought. Do you agree/disagree? Do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanks
Riya
P.S- Really really sory for making it super long
