DMG: What is the message?

Dear friends, the recent developments in DMG has caught my attention. I went back to read the summary of the show and found "the characters of the show are real, their issues are believable and the approach is dramatic, but never unreal". While the issues are still somewhat believable and I find the approach a little too dramatic (some might not agree); I think it has drifted away from the realistic approach some time ago.

This evening, I found this article on Telly Buzz called 'Our Serials--Lets Introspect ! '. Nicely written article... you can read it here: https://www.india-forums.com/tellybuzz/article.asp?id=3908

I read this and thought, it's time to Introspect on DMG! So what message does DMG actually convey? I would like to hear from all the DMGians. And yes, I would recommend reading the article. To ensure the thread is continued, please don't fight violently or call names 😉 Let's stick to peaceful means but feel free to express opinions 😊

Edit: I would also like to add, Is it actually necessary for a TV show to send out a message?

if we talk about the initial episodes.. then yes the serial did focus on real issues...the aneroxic girl.. the case where the woman was beaten by the husband and then there was this episode where they were talking abt smoking as not being cool sumthing like that.. so with all the fun and romance the episodes were carrying some kinda messsage and this could have been one of the platforms from where the youth cud hav been educayed.. especialy if u see the kind of fan following this serial has and had. but my guess is that the producers got trapped in the economics of the game and sacrificed quality for quantity. the drama recently has become too dramatic and often unrealistic to the point f being nonsensical. some of the situations are so random that it takes a lot for the viewer to digest it!
and now this development is totally weird.. Armaan seems to have done somthing wrong! female liberation and having the right to choose partnes is what ppl want. so how come the father in this show has been so potrayed that he is totally aversed to that idea.
then it seems that the creatuves dun keep track of the previous events in the story. either they were just added to add spice and raise viewership.... for example wen ridhima didnt know that padma (whereever she has gone now.... no explanation) was her mother and padma was in the hospital ... anjie and ridz found out abt it it was the character armaan who helped dr shashank and covered up for him, if that wasnt respect then what is? and now he is a person who has no respect for anyone! then there are numerous things that simply have been forgotten. so i guess there might have been a message when the serial started but now its only half baked drama aimed to increase viewership which i think is not happenning.

A very important message...POWER OF LOVE ...

that LOVE knows no boundaries and that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder... and that...
Love conquers all...be it situations between lovers ...or treating patients....
Life is not going to be fair or perfect but ...
when you have love in your life...it seems almost perfect...and that people change and grow ...when in love we gain new heights..it brings the best out of us...and brings joy😃
I love the fact its all done in a subtle way ...not overdramatic way...like today...how Armaan gave a message to Dhruv about importance of telling the truth...in such an easy but effective way...with the POWER of LOVE..👏

^^^ theres really nothing new if a show sends a message about love...thats what all shows on tv ultimately end up doing.
first i thought dmg was different since it dealt with real life cases and the examples have been stated in the
previous post..but now i feel like the show doesnt portray any real substance...at least for me...i cannot connect with the show anymore.
life is not only about love, dancing around in a comical or sexual way, staring at your significant others every other hour, flirting...thats really not practical...they need to get the show back to its origninal roots.
i love the environment/setting of dmg...but it seems like it has lost its purpose...i understand its a fictional show and they have to show all these lovey/dovey stuff but that doesnt mean that they can completely drift away form the original purpose of the show..thats almost ridiculous.
i like the message of friendship thats sent out through nikki...but besides that i really cannot connect with dmg anymore...nor can i find it practical.
as i have said before...if i was a patient up there...i would sue each and every intern at the hospital for malpractice and negligence...oh and also financial losses.
ok i am at school right now in the library and should probably get back to my research..thanks
nice topic.

Thanks for replying, zarmyna. Very good points made, I agree with what you are saying. What bothers me the most is how DMG is trying to promote the stereotypes, like:

Daughter: If she loves someone, and the father doesn't approve, then she has done something wrong. The only way she can regain the status of 'Ideal Daughter' if she forgets the guy, admits it's all her fault and moves on with life like nothing ever happened. And oh, she's not even allowed to be upset.

Father:
Devoid of all logic when he finds his daughter is in love with the 'wrong guy'. Must do everything in power (which he abuses to change Armaan's schedule and workplace) to keep them separated. Otherwise he will be seen as a very irresponsible father. It's not important to consult his wife, he can do whatever he wants. And will blames the boyfriend for corrupting his daughter's mind.

Wife:
Quits working after getting married, and starts cooking, cleaning etc like an obedient housewife. Does not have a say in her daughter's personal life. Her husband calls the shots.

DMG didn't have such stereotypes before, not in this way.

What is the message? At this point: Doctory is a fashion show, a youthful time in your life to hang out around the hospital, romance around the hospital, and dance around dressed up as fairies and clowns. Underlying message? Internship is easy and fun!

Love is a wonderful thing and it makes you do amazing things. No problems there 😊 It's about what you do with love when you've found it.

Most characters in the show don't feel the power of love. Instead of love becoming their strength, it becomes their weakness, and sometimes a burden. Because they don't know what to do with it. You said "people change and grow ...when in love we gain new heights..it brings the best out of us" but Armaan & Ridz haven't changed much, have they? Rahul-Muskaan are the best so far. Although the relationship ended abruptly, it made a lot of sense to me.

Dhruv got to learn some very nice things from Armaan, but it doesn't help his relationship situation. Nikki showed great support for Armaan, that's admirable. Good things happen in DMG, but not frequently enough. And for the last few months, I haven't seen much of it.

True, but it breaks my heart how some people are satisfied with all the tamasha. I can't stop watching (as I've been following it for quite some time), but I can't bear to watch either. Torture!

Yes! These messages are getting stronger! Too bad I didn't go to Med school and missed out on all the fun I could've had 😉 Another way to the join the circus would be disguised as a patient, but they don't have time for the patients so...
