Although the Federation Western Indian Cine Employees strike had been the cause of a shutdown in the schedule of a number of actors last week, it came as a respite to actors who were going crazy working with an erratic shooting schedule.
For instance, Additi Gupta, better known as Heer of Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, finally got a well deserved break and could visit her ailing mother.
Additi had not visited her hometown since the shooting of the show began. Being a daily it was next to impossible for her to make time for herself, forget about taking time to go home to Indore", says a person close to Additi on condition of anonymity.
When contacted, Additi says, "Apart from shooting, I had a lot of other things pending that were consuming my time. Hence, I could not visit my mother. I planned to visit my hometown only once I was well settled in Mumbai. The strike gave me the perfect opportunity to take a break and visit my mother. She has not been keeping well, but is on the way to recovery. It felt good to meet her after such a long time gap."
Happy with the double break now, Additi again plans to visit her mother on the 10th of October and will resume work the next day.
All in all, this break due to the strike surely came as a blessing in disguise for many actors!!!
