Well I guess the place where the contestants belong to must be hidden so that voting is fair. Or else people will show favoritism and will vote for the contestants who belong to their region instead of voting for the best singer. Feel free to disagree. :)

but their names can also tell where they are from. though hiding their hometowns would make it more fair to some extent

Even I was wondering about it. When judges were asked what request they would like to make to the voting junta, ID said ki inhey desh ka batcha maan ker vote karna na ki regionalism per.....and then we have Shaan screaming his lungs off ki Maharashtra ki awaaz, Jharkhand ki awaaz, UP ki awaaz😆 I was like, "Dude, make up your mind! Are you hunting for VOI or Voice Of Region that votes the most."😆

I was thinking the same thing...i was like what difference does it make where the person is from, after all its supposed to be voice of india, not voice of a certain state in india.

they should stop this nonsense and i agree should not reveal states name they are from................but all this drama to get more votes

^ Yeah true.....they say wee need Voice Of India....the next moment, they ask for votes from their region. So what's the use of giving those long bhaashans?

Indian Reality shows can not be without regionalism. For these shows Regionalism=Votes=Money. Nothing will change but # of hrs voting line being open might get reduced to 2 hrs.
lets see what happens aage aage

i hope star plus/gajji understand all this to keep good reputation of this show!

Regionalism is inbuilt in the very concept of this round of VOI.If you select contestant statewise regionalism cant be avoided.Varsha is right. All for SMS money which to me is Smart Money Scheme.

I think it was foolish on VOI's part to advertise the regionalism concept during this new season. Because then it just becomes a war between the states. Music might lose the battle. And anyway, even in terms of revenue gathered, once someone gets eliminated, the state will stop voting. For example, if Rahul Mukherjee goes, I don't think Mumbai-ans will vote for other singers for just music, will they? Or even when Mallar gets voted out, West Bengali will stop voting. Because from the very beginning, the way they've designed the new season just promotes regionalism explicitly.
