The mother realized her daughter will not be cared for and took the precaution to take care of her herself.

Mom was bad for the guys because she took the money out of their reach. These guys never appreciated her and never will.

What happens after she turns 21? She will come into her money then. These guys will be there to manipulate her to take that money.
