Just to let you know:

"Swades is not a direct remake of any specific Kannada movie, but it shares thematic similarities with the Kannada film Chigurida Kanasu. Chigurida Kanasu, based on a novel by K. Shivaram Karanth, also features a protagonist returning to his village and working to improve it. While Swades doesn't explicitly acknowledge the Kannada film, director T.S. Nagabharana has stated that he believes it to be a "replica" of his 2002 film, and he was a jury member when Swades was considered for the National Awards. "

This time Ashutosh was a jury member...and I think that he may not have difficulties to lobby for SRK getting the NA now. As it is for a movie of another quality than those considered as worthy (like, e.g., Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Swades, Chak De), certain people are quick to label it "consolation prize" or completely contest it.

Are you done with Wiki,Quora?Did you read what I wrote before jumping?

You got no knowhow about the system and political affairs of the country yet you say so much for someone who is not a citizen of that country.

If a film is reported and found to be plagiarized then they don't award it major categories. The director of the film was in the jury.

I am sharing a small part of the interview.

No he didn’t deserve for any of those films.Have you even seen any of those performance of the winners? I am sure you have not. National Awards are not limited to hindi films.

Don't underestimate my knowledge only because I live in Germany and I'm someone without desi/arabic roots... I'm sure you're neither familiar with the Kannada movie nor with the story it was based on. This director just had his own agenda...

Nevertheless, I don't begrudge Saif's 10.000 rupees he got for his NA for his performance in Hum Tum... it was long in the past when I started my journey into the Hindi filmindustry...

The more I read of you the more you prove me right. So now the blame falls on the director having an agenda. smiley36 There are no boundaries on your worshipping your favorite.

Fyi Urvashi in this context is Malayalam actress and not Urvashi Rautela.

Malayalam actress Urvashi has already won multiple national and state awards. U can google abt her.

She is a national joke and people are complaining about SRK and Rani winning and how that delegitimizes the National Awards but not thinking that so-called twice-winner Miss Universe being given one isn't the biggest shock to the award's credibility? Her winning makes India a joke.

Urvashi should be content that somehow she was given even one NA rather than claim she is above it because she was a lead and not supporting. In the few movies she made, she hasn't delivered one performance that would be award worthy.

Urvashi is her professional name may be that's why you confused her with urvashi Rautela. Urvashi A.K.A Kavitha Manoranjini is a prolific actor she won 6 state film awards, 2 tamilnadu state film awards and one national award before if i remember correctly

Urvashi Rautela's candid reflection on her National Film Award for Best Actress is both intriguing and thought-provoking. While many would consider such an accolade a pinnacle of achievement, her decision to question the jury's criteria showcases a commendable level of self-awareness and humility. It's rare for public figures to openly express such sentiments, and it adds a layer of authenticity to her persona. This introspection could spark meaningful discussions about the transparency and processes behind award selections in the entertainment industry.

neither srk desrves any national award for any movie he did so far hes mediocre actor

neither rani deserved this national award although shes good actor compared to other bollywood heroines after 90s

amitabh bachchan never got awards for namak haram or even sholay or mili etc till recently where he got many awards

nor dilip kumar got national award ever even for mughal e azam and shakti(where he acted better than amtabh bachchan) nor devdas etc why srk getting it for jawan dunki etc kind of pathetic movies which are not even 1% of a mughal ea azam or sholay in quality

neither nargis, meenakumar, sharmila got awards for much better acting in famous movies in 50s and 60s

does it mean SRK and rani or any bollywood actor after 90s are better actors than amitabh and dilip kumar and meena kumari in acting that they are getting awards after awards

doesnt that mean that acting standard till 2000 was so high before that even dilip kumar, amitabh bachchan, meena kumar, nargis, never got that national awards (very rare 1 or 2 some got)

Why not read at least the first post when coming into a thread???

Tell me one entertainment award where there aren't controversial opinions about those who got and those who (never) got/get one.

Here in the thread, it is something else because giving an actress a NA in the supporting category for her work in a movie where she had a leading role is - basically - an insult.
