I myself couldn’t believe when people who I considered ‘friends’ would mock me over charcters I support in a fictional show. But I got over it as I realised that such people don’t deserve any importance. Never feel guilty for your personal preferences no matter how ‘scary’ it may be

Someone told me coffee would taste bitter if she drank from that mug because the coffee mug looked scary to her. That was so humiliating and disrespectful! A person may not like something. That doesn't mean she should insult another person like that. I'm giving you an example. I never watched Friends even though it's insanely popular. Yes, that's right. It may sound strange because it's known as an iconic series. Actually I don't feel interested in watching comedy shows. So, I didn't watch it. But I don't feel anything negative about the show. If someone bought a Friends themed coffee cup and showed me, I would have said, "I never watched Friends. So, I don't know anything about the show. But I'm glad that you're excited about the coffee mug." This is called a respectful comment.
