Since the mods keep locking my topics in the movies forum - What is everyone’s thought on his statement ?

once you move past the India is great, isn’t this true ? Only 2% of the population pays taxes. Isn’t that abysmal ? Basically the salaried for the most part pay taxes as they don’t have a choice.

I think there are 10000 examples in daily life of the corruption.

There are no easy solutions but the western world works, in part, because corruption in every day life is virtually non existent. Don’t get me wrong. They are immensely corrupt at the top. Numbers that will dwarf Indias because of value of INR.

more vigilance and immediate deportation or hung till death without delay. If she visited pehelgam and was connected to the act - she played a role in 27 lives lost there.

Traitors should know, death is the likely end when caught.

While I agree with most points you have made, the thing is nobody, atleast no political leader thinks rationally about this caste and reservation anymore. What started as a well intentioned temporary measure to keep in check caste based reservation has turned into nothing but vote bank politics. It has just been reduced to an election manifesto where all parties are in compitition ki kaun sabse zyada reservation promise karega. They are just competing to increase it just for some votes. For this very reason no one would dare to decrease it. They behave like population je according reservation dena hai. That was never the case. Reservation was given just to ensure socially backward classes are not completely outcast or left out of these institutions and so that people also start increasingly accept them. Now it has become a matter of bitterness as over the years les and less percentage is left for UR. Voh toh beech mein SC ne bol diya max 50% reservation is allowed isliye yahan tak hi hai varna voh bhi kabka chala jata. Again in that too EWS was brought in. 10% seats again gone down for URsmiley18 it has just become a race for political parties.

Now again caste census is happening. The only reason is to demand more reservation smiley26 why else would anyone want caste based census? No party is actually thinking about doing something different. They should understand that they are driving away many people by doing this

politics is hard. One party promises free money and gees seats so more end up doing it. Vicious and worst thing anyone can do and EC is sleeping. They have taken no action against khataaaa khat promises of INC. leaders on video. Their part workers distributed registration cards. All the evidence is there.

Casteism is evil. The government needs to ban it constitutionally. So question does not even arise to do a caste census. I may be for unity and even in favor of this government. As I have said many times, it does not mean I agree with everything they do. At the same time I know, if the current opposition wins, one may as well write off India forever.

I completely agree, corruption in india is so deeply rooted, its like blood flowing through our veins. Its everywhere, from the smallest things like temple visits to massive international projects. There is hardly a single area where you can confidently say corruption isnt involved. Its one of the major issues we face today, alongside others i have previously mentioned.

Regarding taxes, im not sure about the only 2% pay taxes claim but even if more people do pay, lets be honest, the burden falls mostly on the middle class. The wealthy often find ways to evade taxes through loopholes, corruption and other tactics.

Now coming to solutions, can the government eliminate corruption entirely?? Realistically, no. The problem isnt just in the opposition, bcorruption exists within the ruling government too. So, how much can actually be removed and from where?? If a genuine cleanup were to begin, many in power would either lose their positions or end up behind bars. The backlash from all sides would be massive.

I recall a discussion where we talked about how a chinese style government might solve several of our national problems. I believe corruption is one such issue that could be tackled more effectively under an authoritative system. If modiji had complete control, chinese model could make it possible to root out corruption, not instantly but within five years. However such a system limits personal freedoms and poses a serious risk, if the leader isnt competent or ethical, the damage could far outweigh the benefits. Thats the dangerous trade off with authoritarian rule.

Alternatively we could work toward a long term democratic solution, gradually eliminate corruption by raising awareness, promoting civic education and instilling values of integrity from a young age. This path would take decades but it would be sustainable. The downside is that it might slow down progress in the short term.

bro. I can’t find the video that I was searching for. 2% is a number of people filing taxes as stated by govt in that video.

I have written papers on China and its reasons for success vs India being strong center.

I do believe that part of civic sense begins with recognizing self corruption. On the long term aspect - I believe the foundation has been laid. With Aadhar and digitized transactions, the govt knows income of even street hawkers now. In a digital world, long term,it’s becomes increasingly harder to hide transactions with Aadhar and Pan linked. Yes it won’t disappear overnight.

If you follow news in US, the amount of corruption revealed by DOGE alone shows one thing. Politicians are corrupt across the world. My point is we can’t just keep blaming them and Indias system is far more rotten at basic level as you said.

No I don’t want fascism. I do prefer stronger center. Especially with important legislation such as CAA and NRC etc. I want them to get at least one term with 400 par to see what they do.

I also don’t want fascism in India as I don’t trust most outside of Modi and team. China pulled it off starting with Deng because at the end of the day they had excellent dedication to China and succcesive leaders ensured that. They made money while making China great. INC made money ensuring India goes to fragile 5. US is the most powerfully democracy in the world despite its corruption. So India needs to understand this v clearly on what is needed if she wants to be truly in the top 3 and not just GDP numbers

@bold- this is really sad. They really need to put an end to endless freebies promised by parties. Like why should tax payers money go for funding freebies when there is so much scope for development where the money should go. And what is SC doing? It intervenes in pretty much everything from someone posting about something to every amendment and act passed in parliament but why not intervene in this matter ?

SC has forgotten its role is judiciary and not executive. In fact they think they are above the law. Sadly coincidentally same thing happening in US. They too don’t want to disclose assets.

And yes. These freebies need to stop.

Raj if you read this. The freebies alone can educate the poors free education , school supplies meals and transport. Just for the poor - don’t want every kid to get it free.
