Missionaries are of course exploiting. Even the recipients are in full knowledge of it. But why do they still go for it? Isn’t it because of their extreme poverty? And then they follow that religion with the passion of a convert for obvious reasons. If we don’t want Sanatana followers to become extinct, we have to start focusing on all the aspects, especially the gareebi and unemployment.

I agree with this also but its also true that they are getting sold because of discrimination they face in our society.

Well, I too avoid eating in places of a certain specific religion because of the spit thing. It's not just because I've seen it online, but also because I've seen it real life, that too not just in uneducated ones, but an educated middle class family.

The class system between rich and poor, is here to stay, I'm afraid. I don't see it going away anytime sooner or later cos that's just the way we humans are, unless we all become spiritual beings.

I also avoid eating at certain specific religiom places for the same reason you mentioned. But apart from that, i dont discriminate when it comes to eating at other people’s houses based on caste or even religion, except for one.

When the caste system is eventually abolished, the class system will likely rise rapidly. Although class distinctions already exist in our society, the caste system currently overshadows them. Once the caste system is gone, the class system will take its place.

Outside of india, many asian societies also show a lot of class based discrimination, south korea and japan, for example, are developing nations where this is quite visible. But honestly, the class system is still more tolerable compared to the caste system because at least with money, you can escape class boundaries. In the caste system, even thats often not possible.

Anyway, I prefer to eat at only the vegetarian places being a strict vegetarian. When I am abroad, I eat at vegan places. When I am left with no other options, I still eat but with extreme caution. My dietary habits are something that I cannot change in the name of trying to mingle.

Of course, I don’t restrict or discriminate against anyone for their food habits.

I'm a vegetarian too.

And yes I remember seeing atleast 4 people, who spat in food and drinks, one of them in the sewaiyan of Eid, when as a kid in walked into the kitchen of my neighbour. I saw my khan aunty doing thu thu in the bowls of sewayian in the tray, that were about to be served to us.

Yes because of extreme poverty plus we as their co-religionists disappointed them by not helping them in their need. There should be organisations similar to RSS, specifically for uplifting these vulnerable poor people so that they don't fall in the trap of people who want to exploit their vulnerability.

True.

Plus I also don't discriminate castes or religions while eating at their place, except for one. Other than that my only discrimination is based on hygeine.

The class discrimination reminded me of the hunger games movies. smiley36

We don't discriminate but I went to my friend's home one time. She didn't offered us anything that was home made. Nothing. Everything was brought from outside.

Even if we don't have prejudices sometime other person have.

That’s what the deep rooted system does. My house help doesn’t sit on the chair even if we ask her to and hesitates to touch things even when she knows we are ok with it. My non Brahmin friends’ mothers used to not give me anything to eat saying it’s disrespectful to feed a Brahmin. I am like I am okay aunty, but they would be like no way.😆

My family has all kind of marriages so this caste and all is all diluted now. But I think sometimes elders doesn't understand and sometimes.. people don't want to change. In school we never knew any caste. In college it started because those people got admission first. That's how the discrimination is nowadays.
