In some ways, I get why Laila is so disgusted with Bilal. He knew from the onset that she didn't want this marriage. They had an agreement where he was to say 'no' so that she doesn't get the pressure of saying 'no'. Laila's stupidity was thinking of this plan and instead she should have said 'no' from the start.
However, she trusted Bilal and felt he would do right by her as they had a childhood friendship. She expected him to honour their agreement. However, he didn't protect her and chose to to protect Zara instead thereby trapping her. So it wasn't much of a gentleman on his part.
Now, he can give her talaq and end this mess. However, again, he chose to protect Zara all these years and refused to leave.
Instead, he left the onus on Laila which means she will be labelled as the bad woman who dared to seek divorce. She becomes the aggressor and therefore will be labeled accordingly in society.
If she were to receive the divorce as talaq, that would likely give her more options socially. So again, he is not doing much to protect her and is leaving her in a lurch.
Hence, there is a lot of anger on her part towards Bilal because she wants him to be her knight and he is not playing that part.
When he does seek divorce, it will be upsetting to her because he will not be protecting her. Instead, he will be protecting someone else (maybe Emaan) and that will only make her look even more pathetic. For Laila, self-respect, honour and dignity is most important and he is not doing enough to give her any of those.
