Wasey we will continue the discussion in DM where we're actually free to discusswithout you know... smiley36 but only after the episodes.

Btw what are you thinking? Ending Kiya hoga? Did the writer give hints? (I don't really believe their words much).

No yar don't have any ending in my head. Court scenes kal ayenge aaj kitna hi dikhayenge. But I don't think anyone would die though....smiley24

When you get time watch writer's interview especially the first interview. For me, personally, except for the Ammar part, I feel that her views were nice.
More than beauty, I feel it is her interpretation of how Nashwa needs to look.

Yeah maybe a clip is taken too much out of context... I'll watch it after the show endssmiley10

And in the comment section, I feel there are positive comments for Yumna. And sometimes even the interviewers or guests may not be able to articulate it in better terms and also sometimes they get into another topic without completing the first topic. May be that's why misinterpretations happen.

It’s truly disappointing when the immense contribution of an artist is overlooked or disrespected. In this case, the situation seems even more troubling because Yumna, without a doubt, is the star who drew in the audience. Let’s be honest—while the success of any show is never solely dependent on one person, Yumna's presence was the key factor that piqued the interest of many viewers, myself included. She’s the A-lister, the crowd-puller, and the one who made the show stand out initially.

What’s not acceptable, however, is the public disrespect shown towards her by these individuals involved in the project. The ageist remarks and the face-shaming comment about the other actress supposedly being "too pretty" for the role were entirely uncalled for. It’s baffling when the writer claims to have had another actress in mind but also suggests that Yumna was “too old” for the role of Nashwa—especially when the other actress is only three years younger than Yumna.

Yumna, in fact, effortlessly looks like she's in her late twenties, so such comments are not only unfair but outright hurtful.

The way they’ve treated her, especially after the tremendous accolades she’s earned, leaves a bitter aftertaste. No wonder so many actresses feel the pressure to undergo procedures like Botox when they are constantly subjected to ageism and face-shaming. It's shocking that someone with Yumna's flawless skin and undeniable talent is subjected to such comments, and it only highlights the toxic beauty standards in the industry.

I don’t understand why this always seems to happen to Yumna. I’ve noticed that ever since she started gaining fame, she’s been consistently subjected to these offensive comments. Even during TB, which was one of the most commercially successful shows on PTV, she faced similar criticism. Despite its massive success which the so called beauty standards fail to replicate, people still found it necessary to pass hurtful remarks about her.

On a side note, huge shoutout to Saqib . Apparently, as per the writer herself it was him who was adamant on yumna playing the lead role. I have heard similar stories when she started working with Kashif too. Apparently in few shows it was kashif who fought for her when the others in the team had problems with "beauty" standards.

Could she have avoided taking Sajjal’s name? Yes. But as a writer if she is expressing that she had concerns regarding the age. Because the age of the character which she wrote may not match with the actor’s screen age, I don’t think she is age shaming the actress. And also she expressed that after watching the drama she felt that she was fit in that role.

And also from watching the interview, I didn’t feel that they were shaming Yumna. Talking about Sajjal’s beauty, I felt that they meant that Yumna was natural looking in the character and Sajjal might have looked too pretty for the character. It was about look wise suitability of the character.

She went on to say she asked saqib to "edit" to make nashwa appear young. You know what I mean. All her statements in IV clearly points towards ageshaming n face shaming. They could have avoided this topic altogether. Like insaid, there could be multiple names being discussed for a project before finalizing it. But, once your project is successful n especially when you clearly know the media attention, audience trust n even all the senior actors in the drama praising her, these people out of no where gave such distasteful statements. M sorry ,but both ladies looked very capable of articulating their statements well, but they chose not to show any respect for the artist. Anyways, show us ending in two days, I hope yumna watches the interview n remembers not to associate with such people anymore.

@Bold: Could you give me the time stamp of this part?
I personally didn't feel that they had intention to age shame Yumna. And when talking about Deepak Parwani also she expressed that he is an English speaking person and may be she had concerns about him playing the Bade Abbu character. And while choosing actor for Burhan she had specifications like mature looking guy.
And coming to articulation part, sometimes in the flow of the conversation and if they have so much to discuss sometimes they can't conclude it well. And about Yumna it was a part of the conversation. They discussed about the characters Nashwa, Barkat, Ammar and Beenish. And it was more about the story.

Pressu,

Unfortunately I didn't note down the time stamp . I will have to revisit it once again n I really don't wish to watch it again.

I wish they had used better words and it didn't come out the way it seemed. Anyways, I think it's better to not discuss this as it could lead to fanwars n honestly, the show will end tomorrow. So, no point in discussing.

Coming to the show, as per writer herself she prefers open ending, so I think they will just end it with the court case , n I don't think anyone is dying. I hope ammar gets a life time prison as death would be too easy for a ra*ist n a murderer like him.I really hope maheen's case comes out n her murderer gets punished too.

One thing I felt from her interview is that her focus was more on burhan n ammar. But ironically, it was nashwa, bade abbu, bisma n barkhat who carried this show all along. No wonder, saqib took two years to finalize this script. I think all credits should go to him for understanding the minute details n making changes accordingly.
