Bold. Now that I calmed down a bit. I hadn't even watched the episode and reacted based on the promo what you say makes sense about Laila. Like you I still find him and Bilal the most intriguing and laila actions actually make sense based on her character. Lailas father death just happend on bad timing whe she was finally calming a bit though there is no future of this couple.
Right now, the characters that are most easy to understand are Laila and somewhat Bilal. Laila's anger and frustration is understandable. Even her hangup over Taimoor even though they both despise each other on some level. For Laila, it is really about pride, her place as a woman and daughter.
Bilal is worse than a servant and is essentially a slave in this house. His property and money has been captured by his uncles who have essentially fleeced him and Zara and kept them in perpetual poverty. Zara to cement her place married Taimoor by hook or crook.
I don't think Zara really cares for Taimoor as much as she craves a sense of acceptance from her aunt and needing respect. Compared to servants who are earning and have the right to leave, Bilal did not have his own money. Instead, he gets accused of stealing and Zara just stands by and watch.
Now, with such a person, Laila was married off to. What does that mean? Just like Bilal, Laila is also a pawn and has no status or worth in her parents eyes. They don't expect much from her and just like they underestimate Bilal, they are underestimating her capabilities. They undermine Bilal outright as well as subtly. They also do that to Laila. That is why she is unable to accept this marriage. It means that her value is also that of a slave and she is no one.
Whereas Taimoor for some reason is treated by everyone like this king who is all powerful and his every command is to be respected. Therefore, Zara getting Taimoor was a slap to Laila and it meant that while Zara was deemed worthy, Laila was seen as worthless. That is why Laila is still in a tug of war with Zara and they are constantly back biting. In some ways, I don't think either women even like Taimoor because he is such a cold fish.
What I don't get is why he is fascinated when Emaan pushes back against him whereas he gets annoyed when Laila does it. I guess it is because Emaan is supposedly doing it in cutesy way whereas Laila does it very antagonistically? It also means that when Emaan really pushes back for real, Taimoor will not handle it well because he is used to people dancing on his command. He has not been raised to handle disappointments.
