Hardik Pandya, MI captain: "Disappointing when you lose. If we had to be honest, in the field, 10-12 runs we gave too much. We fell short in the end. [On his bowling] Always enjoyed my bowling. I don't have many options but I read the wicket and use smarter options. I never go for wickets but try to make batters make mistakes. Today was one of those days. As a batting unit, we fell short. We win as a team, we lose as a team. I take full ownership. [Tilak retired out] We needed some hits, he was not getting those. In cricket some of those days come, when you try but they don't come. Just play good cricket, I like to keep it simple. Take better calls, be smart in bowling, take chances in batting. It is a long tournament, you get a couple of wins and get into the rhythm."

But I really hope that is not true.

Bina Rutu ke hamari team 100 na bana paaye.

On top of that Dhoni ka last match as Captain should be Winning IPL 2023, it is wayy cooler that way.

I really hope Rutu is fine and he plays 🤞

Apne pass acche fielders tak ki kami hain.

I don't trust anyone else except Dhoni, Jadeja, Rachin and Rutu while fielding.

Sahi hai. There’s no reliable hitter other than Rutu, Rachin and a few others. Thodi time ke liye emoshions mein beh gayi ki Dhoni would be captaining smiley37 yeh bhool gayi ki there’s a dearth of power hitters in the team and they’ll lose the match without Rutu smiley44

Justin Langer - LSG's head coach hugs the curator and pats him, the curator is thrilled as he flashes a wide smile. Then Langer goes to a few groundstaff to offer his hand.

Same confidence wins many matches too in tough situation.

Facts

That is typical Pandya

& it does works for him really well.

He should have given Chahar 1 more over and 1 less to Santner today.

Hardik Pandya manages a tame smile as he shakes hands with his opponents. LSG hang on to win this one. The move to promote Dhir to 3 worked tonight and along with SKY the duo threatened to take the game away from their opponents. This after the early fall of the openers who fell in a similar fashion, finding deep backward square-leg with swings to leg. First ball after the timeout, Rathi struck to get Dhir and LSG came back. Tilak came in and was a major reason for MI struggling during that phase. He failed to rotate the strike and put pressure on SKY. SKY's wicket was the biggest turning point for until then he was in great form. Even the move to retire Tilak out did not help as it was too late by then. Avesh Khan held his nerve to defend 21 off the last over. So yet again MI fail to win on the road. A word on Rathi who was outstanding and his overs ultimately proved to be the difference. Even SKY did not try to take risks against him

Tilak lost it. Nepos will get exposed some day or other for sure. Performers will keep coming back. smiley36

Shardul Thakur: "There's always pressure when you are bowling the penultimate or the last over. Avesh bowled brilliantly at the last. That's what we get paid for. Happy to be in the winning side and executing correctly. Tricky surface. Sometimes slower ones worked, but we saw boundaries being hit off slower ones. Eventually came down to the better yorkers. We do see what's happened in the first half. But the pitch changes over the course of the game and gets better at night. It is up to the bowlers to adjust his lines and variations. Need to have a lot in our kitty to adjust. [On Rathi] He is a phenomenal bowler and a bit of character. We need such players who do not be afraid to express. That's the biggest strength, we saw he did well in the practice games as well. He is the surprise in the IPL. [Red-soil vs black-soil pitch] Red ball the bounce is batter, you can trust the bounce. On black soil, you need better skills as a batter."
