I guess fully illustrated books aren’t allowed. There are many books with some illustrations in it Shirsha, but they don’t come under illustrated books. For example, Nancy Drew hardcover books have illustrations in it, but it’s still classified as a novel and not an illustrated book.

But on the other hand, if you take graphic version of Twilight, there’s virtually no text without graphics. That is an illustrated book.

Thank you for the answer, Alchemy.

Yeah that's okay, I know some YA and Children's books can have a few illustrated pages but they're still chapter books. I meant books wherein the illustration takes up 3/4th of the page and the word count does not come close to 300. That would be books like board books, early reader books & such for children besides comics and graphic novels.

Image Log at least 200 pages for the month of April.

Image Log books within 3 days of finishing or DNFing them.

Image Books can be in any language and any genre.

Image Allowed : Online and Fan Fiction, Novellas, E-books, Audiobooks, Physical books & other chapter books

Not allowed: Magazines, periodicals, graphic novels/ comics, Illustrated books, journals, essays.

Image Books/ online fics should be a minimum of 60 pages/ 18000 words to qualify.

Image Log ONLY pages read from April 1st, 2025 to April 30th, 2025

If you are continuing a book you started in March, log only the pages you read in April. Similarly, if you are midway through a book on April 30 and continue beyond that date, you will log only the number of pages you finished in April.

Image Reserve a post in your Team's thread entitled "Your UN's page log". Continue to edit the post as you log your pages.

Your log post will look like this:

LizzieBennet's Page Log: April 2025

Name of book - Author - number of Pages

1. Onyx Storm - Rebecca Yarros : 126 pages (continued from March)

2. The Duke of Shadows - Meredith Duran : 76 pages (DNF)

3. Pride & Prejudice: A Jily story (HP fandom) by Victorianesque : 413 pages [AO3 Link PMed]

Image Those who participate in at least 2 consecutive Reading challenges and log more than 1000 pages will receive a participation badge

Image Lastly, please remember this is a fun challenge and even if you're feeling extra competitive, please don't cheat! More than being a challenge, this is meant to motivate you into reading more. There's just an extra incentive of getting your team to win, but that's not the end goal!

Image E-books: For finished books, log pages based on Amazon Kindle Edition's Print length. If you DNF, log number of pages based on percentage read, calculate the number of pages read using the total number from the Kindle print length.

For eg: If the Kindle Print length is 500 pages and you DNF at 20%, then you will log 100 pages (which is 20% of 500).

If you cannot find your book on Amazon, use word count to log pages: Total word count divided by 300 rounded up to the nearest whole number.

If your e-book doesn't have a word count & is not available on amazon, try a publisher's website, ISBN or other standard websites like Goodreads to determine its print length.

Last resort will be to log the actual number of pages that is displayed on the e-book/ pdf.

Image Paperbacks/ Hardcovers/ Mass market copies: For finished books, log pages based on Amazon's paperback Print length. If you DNF, log only the number of pages you read counting from the copy you hold.

Image Audiobooks: For finished audiobooks, use the Kindle print length to log. For DNF Audiobooks, calculate the number of pages at the rate of 40 pages per hour at normal speed. If your Audible (or other audiobook app) gives a percentage, then use the Kindle print length to calculate number of pages as in the example given for e-books.

Image For online fiction/ FFs: Log pages based on word count i.e. Total word count divided by 300 rounded up to the nearest whole number (please note that online fics should be a minimum of 18000 words to qualify). Some online fics/ books maybe found on GoodReads. If the web page doesn’t list the word count, try this.

For eg: If the total word count is 80,000, then your page log will be: 80,000 / 300 = 267 pages.

For online fics from websites such as Wattpad, AO3 and other such rival sites, we ask that you mention the name of the story and the author in your log, and send the link of the story to you Team Captain who will verify it.

How exactly should I calculate the pages? smiley24 I aim to read Book 1 and Book 2 of Harry Potter in April.

That would be your print length for a hardcover copy. If it's a paperback that you're reading, select the paperback option on Amazon and look up the corresponding Print length at the bottom. Similarly if it's an e-book, look up the Kindle Edition Print Length.

Hey sign-ups are now closed for April. However, you can keep track of your reading if you wish to by reserving a Page log post in one of the team threads. You'll be an honorary member of that team but your pages won't count towards the final tally. Next month onwards, we'll accommodate you in one of the teams if we can. Let me know if you'd want to do that!
