Watched till day before yesterday's episode, haven't seen yesterday's yet.

What irks me is the character butchering...

As it is they have portrayed Indra Deva as a cruel and evil.minded and Vali being his son seems to go further. The alliance between these two is beyond comprehension... This is Ramayana and not Mahabharata

Raahu narrating Samudra Mandhan is a nice touch to the story just like Jatayu trying to prevent Maruti from going near the Sun narrating the incident of Sampati's wings getting burnt. By the way, young Sampati and Jatayu's crowns were worn by Lakshmana and Shathrugana in Shrimad Ramayan

Missing the baby Maruti... That baby was so cute... Too bad we didn't get more screen time with the baby but understandable

Toddler Maruti is cute and mischievous but felt a bit off... I wondered why and then seemed to find out why... The make up. Not blaming the artists but in my opinion the curls look a bit forced and the mouth looks more like a bird than a vanara... Maybe they can widen it a bit. Just my opinion, not trying to bash anyone.

But characterisation... Was awkward to say the least...

Why blame Surya Deva for being himself? People know he's hot and bright so if we go near him we can get blinded or burnt. Its common sense. Why does Jatayu have to call him cruel? He was caught up in the race and Sampati had to save him. If anyone has to be blamed in this scenario, it would be Jatayu. And what was that nonsense with Vayu Deva asking Indra to order Surya Deva to reduce his power? And Indra Deva plotting something with it as well... Do the Devas themselves think they can change the laws of nature? Bad portrayal, in my opinion.

And Maruti... As soon as he heard Sampati's story he is adamant that he has to eat the Sun. Didn't even listen to Vayu Deva who tried to stop him (him pushing Maruti with his wind blast was hilarious but illogical). The reason Vayu Deva was so angry when Maruti was hit and the other gods decided to revive and bless him was mainly because it was a huge punishment for a child's innocent mistake committed unknowingly. But here Maruti is such a brat, I'd say he deserves the thunderbolt. What the heck are they trying to portray? A kid can be unruly and can get away with it and will get rewarded?

Kunal Bakshi as Pawan is awesome to see (except that mushroom slice on his crown). His robes, accessories and the wind design on his forehead were beautiful. This suits him so much better than Aswathama and Vibhishana (he did a good job with both). He was Indra Deva in one series, he was good in that one too.

Raahu seems to be one of the asura extras from SR... Not sure and not sure which one...

As for Raahu, some versions say that he was fitted with a snake's head and body to sustain him. In some versions, his mother nurtured him and he grew them on his own. In some versions the gods/Lord Vishnu decided to give him the body and head of a snake to make him complete. Since he had consumed the elixir, he cannot die and he has a place in the celestial realm. If he was to roam around incomplete, it would apparently cause trouble.

I had always thought Raahu and Ketu had ghostly parts. I was under the impression that Raahu tries to swallow the sun but can't do so since he doesn't have anything below his neck. And I did read Ketu tries to swallow the moon somewhere but I have no idea how and how the moon escapes after the eclipse.

Asur mother was one of the ladies diti or Aditi

Rishi kashyap wife

So she had requested something to do for rahu with his body and head separate

I think body also survive

That's why rahu ketu

And since Surya Dev and Chandra dev revealed his secret that's why he comes to eat them

And snake part story I don't know

That's why was puzzled to see half snake half human

Whole cast is recycled

I liked it can watch for effects atleast

It was either Simhika (yep, the same one whom Hanuman defeated as he was speeding to Lanka to search for Sita) or Diti/Danu who asked the gods or Rishi Kashyapa for help. Aditi was the mother of the Devas and Vamana. Diti and Danu were the mothers of Daityas and Danavas who were demonic. Simhika was Diti's daughter, I think.

Vishnu was Rama in Ram Siya ke Luv Kush. He had also played Buddha and Shiva before.

Jatayu and Sampati were nice although I thought they look more like Garuda... Well, they're his nephews anyway but I thought they were more like vultures than eagles.

The effects were awesome.

I thought the same about Indra's tilak too. Harry Potter scar with a blue border.

Vishnu has a mischievous twinkle.

Not sure about Jambavan. I thought he was the same from Shrimad Ramayan.
