The story so far in this series:
Lord Vishnu asks Lord Shiva to help him in his next avatar to destroy evil and Lord Shiva agrees and says evil can be destroyed through devotion if power is insufficient to do so.
In Sumeru, Kesari longs for an heir and his wife Anjana has a secret she hasn't shared with her husband. She was previously an apsara who was also a devotee of Lord Shiva. Indra Deva is angered since she gives more importance to her devotion than her duty to serve him and hence makes her disturb Lord Brahma's meditation who curses her to become a vanara but also says she will return as soon as a child is born to her.
This secret is ousted when Jatayu visits Kishkinda and Kesari is very supportive and loves her very much. They both decide to do severe penances worshipping Lord Shiva for a son. In Kailash, Lord Shiva decides it is time for his avatar to be born and has to choose a mother who can withstand his power. He gives a part of his power to Vayu Deva who gives it to Anjana.
Vali is shown to be strong, cruel and psychotic while Sugreeva is boisterous and innocent. After he kills his own soldiers for running away in a war, his father Rikshraja punishes him and takes him to Jambavan who coaches him on the right path.
Indra is again angry that Punjikasthala is living happily as Anjana and comes down to Sumeru to warn her to return as soon as her son is born. Vali meets Indra and asks him for blessings and the latter says Anjana's son will be the reason for his death. So Vali decides to kill the child but the boy is born healthy and is named Maruti. This extremely displeases Vali.
Indra Deva orders Anjana to come back as Punjikasthala and she is torn between her duty and love for her family. Meanwhile Vali keeps plotting Maruti's demise. Punjikasthala disturbs Lord Brahma's meditation again and asks to be cursed again. Indra Deva says she is acting out and has to return to her position. Lord Brahma gives Punjikasthala a choice: she can either remain heaven as an Apsara or return to the Earth as Anjana and lose her divinity and become mortal. Punjikasthala chooses the latter and returns to her family.
And now begin some extra stories... I hope they don't mess it up.
