After his father kept him at a distance did he not defect to Moghuls? Was it not part of the history?How can somebody who plots against his own father that too one of the greatest Kings India ever had be glorified in this way?

It is simple truth.To get what he wanted he was willing to make a deal with his father's enemies.

Later in his battles with the Portugese in Goa and surrounding states the war crimes he and his soldiers comitted are also well documented. Goan women were sold off to African and Arabs. This is also well documented.

No matter who writes history events cannot be erased.People can claim that his history was recorded by people who hate him but nobody can deny these events.

Ultimately his own people and Peshwas ditched him and he was handed over to Mughals. Why did his own people ditch him?

How did this man become champion of Santana dharma?

I am nt siuure of sambhaji much history but he is billion times better than any aurangzeb despite what you list as issues

Aurangzeb was a bigot and dictator (like taliban)

He was always fanatic by nature(like once he refused enter dara sikoh palace for a function and sat outside as shah jahna and all his siblings went in for a party)

Same way its rumored he was so jealous of dar asiko he poisoned dara sikoh when he was a little kid of 12-13 only (although shah jahna never punish him )

Also another story goes like aurangzeb refused to go into a temple with his grandfather jehangir as a 7 year old child no matter how much jehangir told and sat outside

He was totally bigot human who had problems with anyone not doing as he wished even his own kids narcissist you can say

He imprisoned 4 of his sons and daughters at various times over silly issues

Like if his son refuse an order put him in jail 20 years if his daughter follow sufi saints put her in jail if another son refuses to go to war as ordered put him in jail if another son argue in court put him in jail 10 years etc

He even tried to kill youngest son akbar many times as akbar rebelled against him(he openly question auragnzeb in court why his elder step brother put to jail and aurangzeb is like how dare you question me)

So when a man can get so cruel to own kids imagine what he do to whom he consider opponents like sambhaji

Its not only his opponents who were fed up of aurangzeb atrocities even his many kids were fed up of him he was a psycho

Its not only his opponents who were fed up of aurangzeb atrocities even his many kids were fed up of him he was a psycho

I never disputed about Aurangzeb. But my issue here is about Sambhaji. If one looks at real history of Sambhaji he is no less a psycho prone to committing criminal acts. Why is being deifed in this movie and thus misleading the public about his real nature.

This is clearly a propaganda film made of scenes copied from other films to elevate him to the status of martyr protecting Sanatana dharma.

Agree with you about the way Sambhaji got portrayed....but honestly, I didn't expect anything else than what the movie did...that's how a certain thinking has taken over in the Hindi filmindustry since 10 years... so, I went into the movie without pondering about history but about the performances and a story told.

The movie has success in Germany, too, as it is still screened here.

Chhaava has now entered the 400 cr 'club' (net collection) thanks to the very good reception in the Maharastra state. However, I think, it won't reach the 500 cr net collection which is okay, imo.

Maybe it will (neither Taran nor BOI matter to me, though - not their numbers, not their praise)...the occupancy slows down but that doesn't make Chhaava less of a success as it already had become (imo)

Music really ruined the experience.

Will entering the 500 crore club be next?
