The only problem I have and unable to connect is the fact that the whole family, society including the FL are so cool about the ra*e as if it's a small mistake. They all are so casual with the culprit ,and his father even brings that up to threaten his son to get him married to the girl they pick. How are everyone so casual about it n why no one is freaking out!!

So the Maheen case is a built up journey in the show which we will obviously come back to, #1. Then the other important thing to remember is that this is NOT Ammar’s first rodeo. He’s had multiple FIRs registered against him. This isn’t just your regular toxic household, this is a CRIMINAL family. Ammar isn’t the only one either. Behzad is implied to have been the same. Then Bakhtiyar and Barkat Bibi are small time criminals themselves with how they cheated the villagers out of their land, Asim out of his own property and that whole construction site fiasco. So the criminal shades are very much in place in the entire household.

The only people who would bat an eye when it comes to Ammar are Sidra - who has lashed out about Ammar deserving to be in jail but nobody was willing to listen to her. Then the other two are Nashwa and Bisma who have zero agency in that house. If you don’t have agency and are dependents on the likes of Bakhtiyar and Barkat then you just make do. The little outbursts that Nashwa has with Ammar is the most threatening she can afford to be in that place.

I like the realistic take on this. Criminals are always safe in such households. There’s either denial protecting them, or enablers or people who know they’re wrong but have no agency to do anything about it.

There’s also a deliberate way this has been written. Where you start off with the rape case and now it’ll get reopened once Ammar gets married. We will come back to it once it’s even more complicated for Nashwa than before.

This is must be after marriage. If bisma was there, she wouldn't have let nashwa do kitchen work.

I don’t think there’s any room to whitewash him. The writer had Maheen come to their HOUSE and delete the videos. Bakhtiyar calls his son a rapist loud and clear. We know he dumped the girls body too and spiked the drink. Jail tou hogi even if it’s as an accessory to rape and murder.

Abhi tak the writer hasn’t done anything to absolve Ammar of his crimes. Despite the layers added to him as it relates to his upbringing and trauma. He’s very much still an asshole. We even have scenes of him making videos of Faryal ffs. So that side of him is still crystal.

But yeah the case reopening happening post marriage will obviously make things 100x more complicated for all characters. Which I think is the point. Dramaaaaaaa

I agree partially. But I still think they handled it so casually.

Imagine if they showed nashwa & bisma showing wary reaction towards ammar. I know they have no agency. But it doesn't mean they pretend as if ammar didn't commit a crime.

When family planning for ammar faryal marriage, small conversation between mother and daughter how they are concerned for faryal because ammar is rape accused. I don't even expect nashwa to warn faryal. But atleast a concerned reaction from her side.

Instead of nashwa going alone to ammar and his friends as if she doesn't know how dangerous they can be, show her going to his place by mistake.

When ammar saved her from his creepy friend just a monologue of nashwa saying how man like ammar who don't mind disrespecting other woman can't tolerate the same if it is about their family women.

Little things like these makes big difference to the viewing experience.

Really liked this analysis and it's so true. Sidra, Bisma and Nashwa have no say whatsoever in the household and all 3 are at the mercy of the matriarch and get son to various degrees, so yes they can't take a stand against Ammar. Sidra as the mother, so she has that maternal love towards Ammar and it's understandable. Bisma too seems to have a fondness for Ammar, which is again something that works against her, for me at least. Nashwa in her own ways tried to get back at him. But I wish they would have shown more disgust towards Ammar from the people of the house, especially the females.
