Dekho, in Abhir's defence, the P family is horrendous & he genuinely felt that since Abhira ne Vidya ki bail kara di, things may have gotten better. Also he has seen extremely complicated relationships in his young life, so he assumes that jaise Ruhi & Abhira maintain relationships in that house, he too will do so.

Also I feel all he wanted was Charu to accept, so that aur kuch nahi toh woh usse bhagaa ke shaadi karke Goenkas house lekar aayegi, where he would not need to deal with the craziness of the Poddars or Bansals, completely forgetting that this is Rishta & aise rishte tode nahi jaa sakte and ge cannot have a rishta with only Charu

Please the guy held a moral high ground as a brother and felt Armaan was not laayak for Abhira.. by that logic alone, Armaan has full rights to think about who is layak or not layak for his sister.. upar se Abhir has only been showing extreme behaviour.. this whole I love Charu but I don't care about what is happening to anyone else around me is sooooo annoying and shows him in such poor light.. that alone should be enough reason for a brother to not want such a guy for his sister/s.. the accident and it's repercussions not withstanding..

Also Abhir is being allowed leeway for his young age trauma cos we have all seen some part of it.. Armaansa ko tho wo bhi naseeb nahi hota
