Because they thought if they market this drama as ensemble drama it might not get views & TRP so they removed Usama from the poster & also didn't show any dialogue of Usama in the 1st look. They did false marketing in hope that it would get higher views & TRPs. They basically underestimated Usama as his other dramas on other channels are getting high TRPs.

In reality, this is an ensemble drama led by Maya (maybe even Maya and Usama). If you take out Wahaj ke filler scenes where he only sulks, broods, or cries to the BGM, Wahaj's screentime in 22 Qadam will be same as SMD, maybe even more. But at least in 22 Qadam, Wahaj got subplots exploring his traumas, his professional aspirations and struggles, and relationships of his own that were separate from Fari. None of which he got in SMD.

I just feel like this is a total miscommunication between director writer which went wrong...KRQ had different vision and Haseeb had a different vision and also he had a pressure from channel and production. They wanted to tell this story but they also had a pressure of including Wahaj in almost every episode (leading to filler shots) and also had a pressure to include leads interactions(no matter how absurd it is) they also wanted to show chemistry..because that's what viewers want (but the story doesn't demand chemistry)

I understand why Wahaj has said yes to this project because he looked only at his character and had full faith on director-producer. That's how PTV works I feel...people mostly work for friendly favours and relationships..for eg- Sherry mostly work for ARY and Six Sigma.

After his stupendous rise to fame after Tere Bin, Wahaj decided to make Tripti Dimri his role model and follow her career footsteps How Tripti went from doing leading roles in smaller productions and critically acclaimed performances to flower pot secondary roles with less margin to perform in big productions. Similarly, in all these recent Tripti Dimri films, there is more intetest in focusing on her looks body and sexiness -- character arc, independent tracks, screentime, etc. be damned.

I understand your frustration hypno,but Please dont compare him with Tripti Dimri. Her career is totally deteriorated and she is just a showpiece in movies no matter how much screentime she has.

At least in SMD,no matter what the screentime is people want to see Wahaj and like his character and dialogues...may be his acting is not as good as it was in other shows..but to say that his career is on declining stage is too early
