Tbh, Maya hasn’t delivered her best in this drama, There were some scenes of hers with Ammar, Humsha, mom & even Zaviar in which I couldn’t stand her. Let’s agree to disagree on Maya. She’s supposedly the FL and the whole story revolves around her, obviously her acting skills should’ve been better than the rest and the expectations are high. Once I had a friend come over, while I was watching SMD, and we happened to watch one episode. The first thing my friend notices is Sadaf’s OTT acting🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

There was one scene of Wahaj too where I felt he’s overdoing it, the airport arrival. I didn’t find it convincing either🤷‍♀️

The overall acting of Maya has not been very good throughout the show..but in some scenes she wasn’t bad that's what I meant..its not that intolerable to me at least..!!

Like the slap scene she had with Usama...I didn't find it OTT at all which people were trolling all over the social media.

Her dialogue delivery is not good that I agree..but the expressions she gives I dont feel is that bad...

wahaj has very less screenspace, he should have been promoted as an extended cameo. it's definitely usama's show but he disowned it by deleting all instagram posts he shouldn't have done it. he should own it, it's a popular show.

Looks like Usama wants to wash his hands off and smear it all on Wahaj & Maya😲 Had this drama been a hit, everyone would’ve wanted to claim a piece. I’m watching Usama’s other show too and I noticed he’s doing well there. Even the FL’s despicable cousin is doing a good job. Wonder, why his scenes with Daniya, Humsha & Sadaf in SMD were mostly intolerable😲 This drama is one collective failure, where every department has failed miserably.

For me, I still think they promoted it as a one-sided love story so I don’t find the marketing wrong there. Even the OST shows Sadaf signing Nikkah papers with Bilal leaving heartbroken. We see her dancing around with Usama so it was all there but maybe I was choosing not to look at it.

The only false advertising of this in my opinion is making this look like this is from Bilal’s perspective. I can’t even say we didn’t get his perspective because he’s been very clear about his feelings towards Sadaf but he’s been MIA too much. So many of the teasers were of him narrating so it looked like he would have the most screen time. Not getting more of his backstory was disappointing but having him disappear for as long as he did was even more disappointing.

That’s a common marketing ploy though…using the biggest name to draw the most attention. It’s unfortunate but it happens.

Even the next episode looks like it only has Wahaj for a couple of minutes just stumbling around. It feels like they killed his scenes off along with Mirza Saab. I enjoyed their interactions.

i like this show and enjoy watching all characters. it's not a failure in my opinion. tv audience is not watching it because it's an R-rated/controversial show. it has good online audience.

QEJ and ghair aren't getting that much views online. tv audience is PG-13 types.

it is written by one and only KRQ. he is not a typical writer. he writes realistic characters with grey shades. look at the FL's of bunty i love you, zara yaad kar, mere paas tum ho, pyaare afzal etc.

none of them is villain but they are grey/flawed.

I don't like krq ki writing because I never understand it also i understand farhat Ishqiat ki writing and mishbah Nosheen writing too

this is where he went wrong. this show is the centre of attention for everyone. usama thought this show is not good only after reading comments and hearing reviews. he himself failed to understand this show. it's a masterpiece in its own way.

Yes exactly..the only false marketing that has been done is showing to the people that all this is from BA's perspective..whereas he was actually the most missing character. When OST was released it was clear that Sadaf gets married to Ammar..and Bilal leaving the marriage hall...

Next episode again he'll just have 5 mins scene lolnow even Haseeb has said that only few epis left,I dont know what they'll show and how they'll show.

I can’t blame him totally for that. He’s doing what he is directed to do, plus he isn’t a likeable character. I actually don’t think he’s doing a bad job. He’s a decent actor but he’s just kind of flat and lacks a bit of emotional range. It’s fine for when scenes are fast moving but the super slow scenes just draws more attention to those limitations.

i liked usama's acting in SMD. he did really well in drunk scenes.

his character might not be likeable but he is really enjoyable
