Rohit Sharma has reportedly opted out of the fifth Test. He informed the head coach, Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar about his stunning decision to which the duo agreed.

Amid the ongoing controversy around the Indian cricket team in Australia, multiple media reports have said that captain Rohit Sharma is set to be ‘rested’ for the final fixture of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting Friday in Sydney. In his absence, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah will lead the side, which aims to level the series and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In one word, Rohit was removed from the team because of his poor performance.

Will he, won't he? For nearly four hours at the SCG on Thursday, it was all about Rohit Sharma and if he'd pull the plug on his Test career. Or at least take a call on playing the fifth Test in Sydney. Eventually, it would prove that what was on view over those four hours were indicative of a captain who'd had enough. Who'd decided that his time had come. Or so it'd seem with reports now confirming that Rohit Sharma is set to skip the fifth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy and hand the captaincy back to Jasprit Bumrah.

There were signs of something being amiss from the time the Indian team arrived at the SCG on Thursday.

Rohit Sharma is not dong well and he should not be in the playing XI. GG put his foot down and rejected the selectors' request. That is what majority of the viewers anticipated/wanted.

Whatever words the media used doesn't matter. We all know media sensationalizes news. Sometimes if you look at the title you will get a completely different picture before reading the actual news.

Cheers..
