My parents beat me up: Ameesha

The dirty linen has been washed in public. Whatever the reason, by accident or intent, everyone knows about the Patel family fracas. Mid-Day reported Ameesha's legal notice severing all ties with her family.

But no one knows the real reason why Ameesha did that. In an emotional outburst yesterday, the actress blurted out why she took the drastic decision.

Everyone believes it was the money matters that finally pushed the actress to break ties with her family. To an extent that's true. But what Ameesha never admitted to, was the physical abuse that her family put her through.
In an emotional moment, when we met the actress yesterday, she blurted out.

"My parents were completely against Vikram. They wanted me to date and marry a rich man, so I wouldn't question them about what they were doing with my money. The day my mother found out about Vikram and me, at 4 am, she beat me with a slipper. Every day there used to be so much of fighting and tension in the house, that after a point, I could not take it. My parents used to beat me because they didn't want me to get married to Vikram."

Once Ameesha starts talking, she holds nothing back. "Despite knowing I loved Vikram, they kept looking for a husband for me — some industrialist or the other. Finally, I couldn't take it any more...."

What about her brother Ashmit? "He supported my parents completely...." she added sadly.

A friend of Ameesha's revealed, "No one knows what she has gone through for the last one year. She has always put on a smiling face in public, but she has been to hell and back. It is not easy to deal with, when your family lets you down. While the rest of the world sniggered and took pot-shots at her, Vikram stood by her like a rock."

Her friends may find it difficult to forgive her family, but today, a year after she discovered that her parents were misusing her money, Ameesha said, "I do not hold any grudge against them at all. May God forgive them for what they did to me. I am a fighter and I won this battle. I look at things positively and today, I have so much to look forward to. I have to become mature and responsible. I am high on life and excited about my career."

The Patel girl has indeed come a long way and has put her grouses behind her. She has truly moved on.

AMEESHA ON VIKRAM:
He is everything I would
want and love in a man

"Today, I am very much at peace, and happy with life. I have moved on completely and put the past behind me," she says with a smile. The last bonds linking her to her family were severed last week, with a legal notice.

Many people believe that Patel has snapped ties with her family because marriage is on the cards. "Not for the next five years," Ameesha stated. "I am enjoying myself so much that I can't think of marriage just yet."

But will Vikram be the one she will exchange vows with? Ameesha sidestepped the question neatly.

"He's my best friend. He's everything I would want and love in a man," she said lovingly, adding, "During my darkest times, it's has been nice to know that he was by my side. I've come to recognise relationships by the people who have stood by me. When you have strong, emotional pillars supporting you, it makes a tremendous difference to your life."

On Bipasha's comment that she lacks the physical attributes to carry off a Jism...

"I agree with Bipasha. God didn't give me half a sexy body as her. If He had I wouldn't have been able to do a Rising or Gadar. If I had that kind of a sex-appeal appeal I would have been smart enough to do a Jism. Given the opportunity, I would love to do a film with her. I appreciate her as an actress and truly feel she is one of the genuinely hottest actresses today."

On her age-old war with Kareena and Karisma...

"I wouldn't want what happened with me to happen with anyone. Not even Kareena or Bipasha. A lot of people asked me how I could do Mere Jeevan Saathi with Karisma, but she is someone I've admired from my school days. It was a wonderful opportunity to work with someone I have always looked up to.

My working relationship with Kareena remains open — not just films, I would also love to do shows with her, no issues there."

whatsoever i don't like her that much. especially her blonde dyed hair & absurd hair cut she has these days.

i disagree i think her new hair style dyed blonde makes her look really hot, before in my opinon her hair was her least attractive asset, also what does she make against Kareena and Karisma?

I agree with Singh23.

I think one of them made a comment about the other in an interview, and now they hate each other.

did u guys c her in elaan? blond hair plus those blue eye lens, she looked bad...she is a gud actress but i prefer da look she had in KNPH.

oh ma goodness, i can't stand her, she is not good actress, all the movies that i hv seen of her n her acting no good, the way she cries , or ever says n e dilogues it like she as ashma. we call her bimari. lol she can't ever dance, i been a dancer since i was lil girl n the way she dance nope nope nope, she can not act.... ..... she is not beautiful either, she looks like a man w.boobs. im serious.blond hair n blue eyes is not for her. one of the reason she hates kareena because she is from kapoor family, i saw her interview n she sais that kareena has her last name and kapoor family so she can get in to moives easily. also she sais that as long as u hv kapoor last name ppl don't care how u act. but in my oppinion yes kareena does hv her last name kapoor, but the talent that she has amisha does not hv it.
